Abstract

Determining a production decline model is a critical step in analyzing the performance of Shale Gas reservoirs, which exhibit complex fluid flow characteristics. This study aims to identify the most appropriate Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) model and estimate the rate of production decline based on historical data. The data used including production rates, time, and cumulative production were obtained from Mazher Ibrahim and processed using Microsoft Excel. The methods employed include exponential, hyperbolic, and harmonic models using curve-fitting approaches and evaluation of the coefficient of determination (R²). The analysis results indicate that the hyperbolic model is the best fit, with a decline factor (b) of 0.6 and a decline rate (D) of 2%. These values indicate that the production decline is moderate and relatively stable.

Abstract

Gas reserve estimation is a critical aspect of field development planning, particularly for Tight Gas reservoirs characterized by low permeability and complex production decline patterns. This study aims to analyze gas production rate decline using the Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) method based on secondary production data from Mazher Ibrahim, processed using Microsoft Excel. The methods used include Exponential, Hyperbolic, and Harmonic models with a curve-fitting approach to determine the parameters qi, D, and b. The analysis results show that the Hyperbolic model with a value of b = 0.99 provides the best fit with the highest R² value and is capable of representing a rapid production decline pattern at the beginning that flattens over time. Based on this model, an estimated recoverable reserves (EUR) of 2,065 MMSCF was obtained, with a predicted production life of approximately 23 years. The DCA method is recommended as a simple and effective approach for evaluating Tight Gas reservoirs.

Abstract

Housing development is an important part of the construction sector that often experiences delays. These delays can increase costs, cause problems in contracts, damage buyer confidence, and result in fines and damage the company's reputation. This study uses the HOR (House of Risk) Method, this method is relatively new and can be used to identify and analyze risks and causes and how to minimize the factors causing delays to become alternative preventive measures (risk mitigation). After conducting the study, 8 events were found that had risks and 9 events that caused the risk. From the evaluation results, the risk agent that played the most important role was the low discipline of the workforce in carrying out the work. Then the mitigation action that was considered most appropriate and easy to use was placing workers according to competency (job matching).

Abstract

Construction projects are characterized by high complexity and constraints in time, cost, and resources, requiring efficient construction methods. One of the emerging methods is precast concrete. This study aims to identify the factors influencing the implementation of precast methods in construction projects in Surabaya. A quantitative approach was used, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 50 respondents consisting of contractors and project management personnel. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Square (PLS). The results indicate that all indicators have outer loading values > 0.7, AVE > 0.5, and Composite Reliability > 0.7, confirming that the constructs are valid and reliable. The main factors influencing precast implementation include technical, managerial, and human resource aspects, with coordination among project stakeholders identified as the most dominant factor. The findings of this study are expected to support decision-making in selecting more effective construction methods.

Abstract

Contract termination in construction projects is a critical issue that can significantly affect project time and cost performance. This study aims to identify the dominant factors causing contract termination and analyze their impact on construction project performance in e-tendering-based projects in Surabaya. A quantitative approach was applied using questionnaire data collected from 46 respondents, including contractors, consultants, and project personnel. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results indicate that delay in work progress is the most dominant factor, and contract termination has a strong influence on project time and cost, with a correlation value of 0.881. Therefore, improving project control and enhancing human resource competence are essential to minimize the risk of contract termination.

Abstract

Kates – Gedangrowo Highway located in Prambon District, Sidoarjo Regency is a local road type 2/2 UD with a length of 3.4 km and a width of 8 meters. This road experiences various types of damage such as crocodile cracks, potholes, patches, obesity, sinkholes, cracks on the edge, grain detachment, and longitudinal cracks. The purpose of this study is to identify the type of damage by analyzing the condition of the pavement using the PCI. From the results of the field survey on 34 segments, 10 types of damage were detected with the results of the study showing that there were 255 points of damage with the dominant type of Alligator Cracking of 27.06%, Potholes of 27.06%, and Patching of 20.78%. The average PCI value of the entire road section is 49.8 which is included in the Fair category. However, 12 segments (1,200 meters) were found to be in Failed and Very Poor condition, requiring immediate priority treatment. Treatment recommendations vary, including total reconstruction, rehabilitation with overlays, periodic maintenance, and routine maintenance tailored to the conditions of each segment, using the method as the basis for calculating the Cost Budget Plan.

Abstract

Construction project delays in Indonesia remain a critical issue, as indicated by more than 40% of projects experiencing time deviations, including the Kelapa Gading Hotel Construction Project, which recorded a delay of 1.962% in the 16th week, with planned progress of 17.589% and actual progress of 15.627%. This condition indicates that the scheduling methods used have not been able to adequately accommodate uncertainty in activity durations. This study aims to analyze project scheduling using the Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) and the Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) to evaluate project duration, identify critical activities, and assess the probability of project completion. The results show that the project duration based on the PDM method is 423 days, which is 10 days longer than the initial plan of 413 days. The PERT analysis indicates significant variation in activity duration, with a probability of project completion within 413 days of 19.49%, increasing to over 99% at approximately 450 days. Therefore, the integration of PDM and PERT methods can improve scheduling accuracy and support more effective project time control.

Abstract

Indonesia is a region with high seismic activity, including Surabaya, which is influenced by the Kendeng Fault. This study aims to analyze the effect of using High Damping Rubber Bearing (HDRB) on the seismic performance of a six-story office building. The analysis was carried out using ETABS based on SNI 1726:2019 by comparing a fixed-base structure and an HDRB-isolated structure. The parameters evaluated include natural period, base shear, interstory drift, and P-Delta effects. The results show that HDRB increases the natural period and significantly reduces base shear and interstory drift. Therefore, HDRB is effective in improving seismic performance and can be considered as an alternative design for buildings in moderate seismic hazard areas.

Abstract

This study examines how structural material selection for warehouses affects initial construction costs, load bearing capacity, and maintenance expenses over the building service life. Steel structures offer rapid erection and flexibility for future modifications but require corrosion and fire protection systems. Reinforced concrete provides high stiffness and impact resistance with lower maintenance costs in normal environments yet demands longer construction periods. Composite materials combine advantages of both steel and concrete but present inspection and repair challenges. Investment decisions should employ life cycle cost analysis with appropriate discount rates reflecting company capital costs and project risk profiles. Local property market preferences for specific material types influence resale values at the end of investment horizons. Companies with long term orientation and low capital costs tend toward concrete or high quality composite structures. Logistics startups needing fast operational commencement prefer steel structures despite higher maintenance expenses. No single material dominates all situations because project characteristics and corporate financial structures vary considerably.

Abstract

Flooding along Karah Street, Karah District, occurs due to the insufficient capacity of the drainage channel to accommodate surface runoff. This study aims to analyze the existing capacity of the drainage system and to evaluate its adequacy against the design discharge based on hydrological data using HEC-RAS software. The research method employed is descriptive quantitative, consisting of hydrological and hydraulic analyses. The data include maximum daily rainfall, topographic conditions, and field observations of the drainage channel. The hydrological analysis determines design rainfall using the Gumbel distribution and calculates runoff discharge using the rational method. The hydraulic analysis is performed by modeling channel capacity with HEC-RAS to determine whether the cross-section can accommodate the design discharge. This study is expected to provide an overview of the current condition of the Karah drainage system and serve as a basis for planning improvements to increase channel capacity and reduce flood potential in the area.
