Abstract

The rapid development of high-rise buildings in Indonesia demands a stable and safe planning structure, especially for the foundation as an element that transfers the load to the subgrade. The Husada Prima Hospital Service Development Building uses a 15 m deep bored pile foundation, chosen because it can minimize vibration and disturbance in densely populated areas. Based on N-SPT data, the soil is dominated by fine to medium graded sand with loose to dense density, so the pile has not reached the hard soil layer. To improve performance, a fullplatee was added to the pile cap to reduce stress concentration. The bearing capacity and settlement analysis were performed using the Aoki–De Alencar method, then validated through numerical modeling with PLAXIS to obtain a more realistic picture of soil–structure interaction. The results of this study are expected to provide a comprehensive evaluation of foundation performance and ensure the safety and stability of the structure.

Abstract

The decline in road pavement quality due to service age, traffic load, and environmental factors requires planned handling through condition assessment using the Bina Marga method and the 2024 Pavement Design Manual reference. Research on the Mojopurno–Dimong Road Section in Madiun Regency uses LHR data, Benkelman Beam deflection tests, and field observations to analyze structural conditions and determine treatment needs. The results of the study are expected to produce effective, efficient, and sustainable technical recommendations to improve road performance and service life.

Abstract

This theoretical study examines the implementation of machine safety management systems based on technical standards through component level risk analysis. Four International Organization for Standardization standards provide the framework: ISO 12100 for risk assessment methodology, ISO 13857 for safety distances, ISO 13849 for control system performance levels, and OSHA 1910.147 for lockout tagout procedures. Component level analysis requires systematic identification of every moving part, estimation of injury severity, exposure frequency, and hazard avoidance probability. This analysis determines whether fixed guards, interlocked guards, or presence sensing devices are appropriate. Verification and validation procedures are mandatory to confirm that installed safeguards meet specification requirements. Documentation serves as legal evidence of due diligence. Legacy machinery demands alternative approaches due to missing technical documentation. Small enterprises may adopt phased implementation prioritizing high risk machinery. Cross functional collaboration between engineering, safety departments, and worker representatives determines implementation success. Machinery safety audits require personnel with mechanical engineering backgrounds certified in functional safety.

Abstract

The recurring flooding problem in the Jl. Adityawarman area, Wonokromo District, Surabaya City, is caused by the existing drainage channels no longer being capable of accommodating stormwater runoff discharge. This study aims to analyze the design discharge of the drainage channels and evaluate the capacity of the existing drainage system in the area. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method through hydrological and hydraulic analyses. Maximum daily rainfall data for the 2016–2025 period from the two nearest rainfall stations were analyzed using the Thiessen Polygon method, Log Pearson Type III distribution, and the Rational method. The analysis results indicate design discharges of 5.244 m³/s for a 2-year return period, 6.619 m³/s for a 5-year return period, and 7.602 m³/s for a 10-year return period. The evaluation of the existing channel capacity showed that all 33 channel segments experienced overflow under all return periods, with capacities ranging from 0.36 to 4.92 m³/s. Therefore, an increase in the drainage system capacity in the Jl. Adityawarman area is required.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze raw material inventory management utilizing the Just In Time (JIT) method as an effort to improve operational efficiency at CV. Rumah Mesin. The main problems faced by the company include excess stock, late delivery, and high storage costs, which result in various types of waste. This investigation employs a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection through observation, interviews, documentation, and raw material procurement reports in 2024. Through inventory cost analysis using company policy calculations, the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method, and the Just In Time (JIT) method, it was revealed that JIT was able to provide significant cost savings. The total inventory cost according to company policy calculations reached Rp 14,859,487.68, - then it can be reduced to Rp 6,345,434.65, - after using the JIT method, resulting in a reduction of 57.34%. The JIT method also contributes to reducing waste in the form of overstock, waiting time, and storage accumulation. The investigation outcomes show that JIT is an effective method in increasing inventory control efficiency and supporting the smooth production process at CV. Rumah Mesin.

Abstract

Crude oil with a high wax content often causes flow problems, especially at low temperatures, which can cause the fluid to thicken to the point where it cannot flow. This condition has the potential to disrupt oil production and transportation processes in the field. Therefore, an analysis of fluid characteristics through pour point and cold point testing is required to determine safe operating temperature limits. This study was conducted using laboratory testing methods on crude oil samples from wells AS-198, AS-211, AS-217, and AS-219 in the Sangatta Field. The testing involved a gradual cooling process until the fluid lost its flowability. The test results indicate that each sample exhibits distinct characteristics, influenced by fluid composition and heavy hydrocarbon content. As wax content increases, the tendency for the pour point to rise also increases, thereby elevating the risk of flow disruption. Consequently, management methods such as heating or the use of chemicals are required to maintain flow stability during the production process.

Abstract

The printing industry faces challenges in inventory management due to fluctuating demand and changing consumer preferences. One of the main problems that arises is inventory waste, which leads to increased storage costs and decreased operational efficiency. This study aims to analyze the causes of inventory waste in the inventory management process at PT. XYZ. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The analysis was conducted using a fishbone diagram by classifying causal factors into human resources, methods, materials, and environmental aspects. The results indicate that inventory waste is triggered by production decisions made before payment certainty, the implementation of a push system, the short life cycle of book products, and fluctuating market demand. As a solution, this study proposes the application of Lean Logistics principles through a pull system, periodic inventory control, and the 5S method to reduce inventory waste.

Abstract

Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) cultivation is a rapidly growing agribusiness sector in Indonesia. One important stage is inoculation, namely planting seeds into the growing medium. Commonly used manual methods have weaknesses such as uneven seed distribution and a high risk of contamination. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the injection inoculation method compared to the manual method at CV. Budidaya Jamur Sejati. The research methods include observation, field practice, interviews, and documentation during street vendor activities. The parameters observed include the speed of mycelium colonization, inoculation success rate, number of fruiting bodies, and harvest weight. The results showed that the injection method was superior with a faster colonization time (12–14 days), a success rate reaching 95%, and an increase in the number of fruiting bodies and an average harvest weight of 350–400 grams per baglog. Thus, the injection method is considered more effective and efficient, and has the potential to increase the productivity and quality of oyster mushroom cultivation results.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company operating in the fields of electrical contracting, maintenance services, and the supply of electrical equipment. Activities such as welding and grinding present significant risks of workplace accidents. This report aims to identify and assess these risks using the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) method. The analysis revealed several high-risk hazards, including burns caused by sparks, respiratory problems due to welding fumes, and injuries from grinding debris. To address these risks, PT. XYZ has implemented various control measures such as the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), the enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment maintenance, and the provision of occupational safety and health (OSH) training. The application of the HIRARC method has proven effective in systematically managing workplace safety, and it is recommended that the company continue enhancing supervision, safety training, and compliance with established procedures to ensure a safer and more productive work environment.

Abstract

Porous asphalt emerges as an innovation in flexible pavement that allows water to flow vertically and horizontally into the base layer, while also providing skid resistance, reducing the risk of aquaplaning, and minimizing traffic noise. This study uses 60/70 penetration asphalt as a binder and investigates the addition of mill scale steel waste as a filler in porous asphalt mixtures. Mill scale is a by-product of the steel industry in the form of metal oxide, formed through the hot-rolled process at temperatures of 700–900 °C. The utilization of this waste as a filler is considered strategically valuable as it can reduce environmental pollution while supporting the principles of sustainable development. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of porous asphalt mixtures with the addition of mill scale filler from steel waste, in order to determine the mixture's performance and its potential application in road infrastructure in Indonesia.
