Abstract

PT. XYZ is one of the premium tea producers that manufactures products for export markets. Forecasting the inventory of palm kernel shells used as biomass fuel at PT. XYZ is essential to ensure that production fuel requirements are met accurately, support decision-making based on forecasting results, and maintain production capacity readiness. Several forecasting methods were applied, including Moving Average, Exponential Smoothing, Linear Regression, and Double Exponential Smoothing. The accuracy of these methods was evaluated using the Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and the results showed that the Linear Regression method achieved the lowest MAE, making it the best forecasting method. Based on this method, the forecasted demand for palm kernel shells was determined for the next six periods.

Abstract

Reading, writing, and arithmetic (Calistung) are fundamental skills that must be mastered by elementary school students. However, the learning process at SD Negeri 2 Karang Dapo is still dominated by conventional teaching methods, resulting in low student learning interest. This study aims to design and develop an Android-based educational game for reading, writing, and arithmetic using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method as an interactive learning medium. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) approach using six stages of MDLC: concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Application functionality was evaluated using Black Box Testing, while user responses were collected from 18 second-grade students using a Likert scale questionnaire. The results indicate that all application features functioned properly based on Black Box Testing. User evaluation achieved an overall score of 85%, categorized as very good, indicating that the application is feasible to be used as an interactive learning medium to improve students' reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.

Abstract

CV. Bebetrend Garment Sukoharjo is a garment company whose core process lies in the sewing department. Observations of three sewing machines (two collar-attaching machines and one sleeve-hemming machine) during May–June 2026 revealed considerable downtime, unstable production speed, and a notable level of defective output. This study aims to measure sewing machine effectiveness using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method and to identify the dominant causes of loss through Six Big Losses analysis within a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) framework. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach using primary and secondary data obtained through observation, interviews, and company production records. The results show that the OEE values of the three machines ranged from 63% to 70%, well below the world-class standard of 85%, with availability (82.5%–85.2%), performance (80.7%–87.7%), and quality rate (95%–96%) all falling short of JIPM standards. Six Big Losses analysis identified reduced speed losses as the largest contributor, averaging 11.15%–17.20%, followed by breakdown losses averaging 9.06%–10.46%.

Abstract

Bengkel Cat Yoesbrush operates two work locations about 600 meters apart and relies on a single Honda Astrea motorcycle to move components between branches, forcing staff to make 10-20 round trips daily because the standard vehicle's limited cargo space cannot accommodate heterogeneous loads that combine bulky-but-light parts with heavy components. This study designs a modular motorcycle component transport attachment using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method to translate user needs into technical specifications. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and interviews with two direct users and validated by an expert, then processed through a House of Quality (HoQ) matrix and visualized in SolidWorks. The results identify 11 customer requirement attributes (WHATs) and 13 technical responses (HOWs), with the highest priorities being rack dimensions (13%), mounting points (10%), and maximum load capacity (10%). The final design is a 60x70 cm modular rack built from 2 mm hollow steel, capable of carrying at least 30 kg, weighing under 10 kg in total, and fitted with a knock-down bracket system requiring no permanent modification to the motorcycle.

Abstract

This study evaluates the application of the Radius of Curvature method for determining the directional well trajectory of FJ-07 in the SS Field, located beneath a river area, where accurate well trajectory planning is essential. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using Measurement While Drilling (MWD) survey data, including Measured Depth (MD), inclination, and azimuth. The True Vertical Depth (TVD), North, and East coordinates were calculated numerically using Microsoft Excel and compared with the company's reference data generated using the Minimum of Curvature method. The results indicate that the Radius of Curvature method produced only minor deviations from the reference data, ranging from 0.3–0.6 ft for TVD, 3–6 ft for North, and 0.8–1.2 ft for East. These deviations are within acceptable engineering tolerances, indicating that the Radius of Curvature method is a reliable alternative for directional well trajectory planning and evaluation.

Abstract

MG Airguns is an airgun manufacturing unit operating a make-to-order production system that requires an efficient and safe facility layout. The existing layout does not support a smooth process flow, as shown by unstructured machine placement, long material-handling distances, and a high potential for workplace hazards. This study analyzes occupational health and safety (OHS) through Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and the OHS control hierarchy, and redesigns the facility layout using the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD), and Material Handling Cost (OMH). The feasibility of the proposal was evaluated using Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR). The results show that the proposed layout reduces total material handling cost by 37.3% and separates hazardous work zones, while the economic analysis yields a positive NPV of IDR 2,011,476,700.91 and an IRR of 42%, indicating that the proposal is feasible to implement.

Abstract

Well cementing is a critical stage in drilling operations to ensure well integrity and prevent fluid migration between formations. The problem addressed in this study is the effect of retarder contamination on the thickening time of cement slurry under high temperature and pressure conditions. The objective of this research is to analyze changes in thickening time due to variations in retarder concentration at a Bottom Hole Circulating Temperature (BHCT) of 270°F. Previous studies indicate that retarders delay cement setting and are influenced by composition and temperature. The method used is a quantitative experimental approach employing an HPHT Consistometer with three retarder variations. The results show that increasing retarder concentration extends the thickening time. In conclusion, proper control of retarder concentration is essential for slurry performance. Further research is recommended to investigate combinations of additives and a wider range of well conditions.

Abstract

This research focuses on designing an integrated Bill of Material (BOM) coding system to optimize product data management at PT XYZ. The primary problem addressed is the lack of standardized codification, which triggers product identification errors by operators and creates information silos between departments. By integrating the Design Thinking method and the IISE 14 Body of Knowledge standards, this study developed a web-based information system prototype. The utilization of technical diagrams such as Use Case, Activity Diagram, DFD, and ERD ensures that the product information flow becomes more transparent and accessible in real-time across all departments, from PPIC to Quality Control.

Abstract

This study aims to identify potential operational failures and prioritize corrective actions to minimize defective products at Konveksi Ragel Mandiri, a home-based school uniform garment industry in Sragen. The manufacturing process heavily relies on traditional manual labor, leading to a defect rate of 6.73%, which exceeds the company's 3% tolerance threshold. This descriptive analytical study utilizes a quantitative approach integrating Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Pareto Diagram, Fishbone Diagram, and the 5W+1H framework. Data were collected through field observations and expert interviews. The results identified 12 failure modes across the production stages. Based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN) evaluation, four critical failures exceeded the average threshold of 136.58: untidy sewing (RPN = 240), stitch skipping (RPN = 196), crooked sewing (RPN = 192), and inaccurate cutting (RPN = 168). Corrective recommendations developed through 5W+1H focus on technical and ergonomic improvements, including structured operator training, clear standard operating procedures (SOP), regular machine calibration, and specialized workspace leveling to effectively control high-risk operations.

Abstract

Crude palm oil (CPO) is both a lipid commodity and a concentrated source of phytonutrients, particularly alpha-carotene and beta-carotene. This review evaluates carotenoid composition, antioxidant mechanisms, processing effects, and application opportunities using a systematic literature review framework without fabricating PRISMA counts. Commercial CPO generally contains about 500-700 mg/kg total carotenoids, although genotype, fruit maturity, postharvest handling, and extraction conditions cause substantial variation. The conjugated polyene system enables singlet-oxygen quenching and radical interactions, but DPPH, ABTS, FRAP, and ORAC results are not directly interchangeable. Conventional refining, particularly bleaching and high-temperature deodorization, causes major losses through adsorption, isomerization, and oxidation. Red palm oil processing, green extraction, and encapsulation provide routes for food, nutraceutical, cosmetic, natural-colorant, and feed applications. Future work should prioritize bioavailability, controlled clinical studies, product stability, industrial scale-up, and integrated sustainability assessment
