Abstract

Norfa Husada Hospital is a multi-storey building construction project that has K3 risks during construction. Therefore, to reduce the number of work accidents that occur during the Norfa Husada-Bangkinang Hospital Building construction project, efforts are needed to identify potential risks of work accidents from each job. This research studies various factors that influence occupational safety and health, how to implement occupational safety and health, and occupational safety and health risks. The aim of this research is to determine the types of risks, the factors that influence them, and how to manage occupational safety and health risks in the Norfa Husada Bangkinang hospital building construction project. The data collection method used in this research was a questionnaire and interview method with 20 respondents consisting of Owners, Contractors, Supervisors. The results of this research obtained a score of 3.3% for workers' comfort and light sources while working, a score of 2.75% because the machine was located far from the project environment, causing injuries or noise, a score of 3.25% for the company that provided a comfortable place to rest, a score of 2.80% for a spacious workplace so that it did not cause clashes with other workers, and a score of 3.30% for the presence of personal protective equipment (PPE) provided on the project.

Abstract

Xyz Company has a high awareness of maintaining production quality to ensure operational sustainability. This study aims to optimize the production process by minimizing defects in the future. The research was conducted through field observations and literature review, using company data as samples. The methods applied include Seven tools and Kaizen to analyze and improve the production process. Findings show that defects such as Scale, Round Wave, Scab, Defect on Surface Plate, Ultrasonic Test, Crack, Camber, and Flatness have high values. The recommendations suggest implementing continuous improvement with a focus on five key factors through Kaizen to enhance operational efficiency and foster a more collaborative and adaptive work culture.

Abstract

Lot Sizing is the process of determining the optimal number of product orders for each period by considering several factors, including demand uncertainty, fixed costs, quantity discounts and holding costs, with the aim of minimizing total costs. Evolutionary Algorithm (EA) is a metaheuristic that can be applied to various optimization problems, including Lot Sizing. Solver is an Excel Add-In for solving optimization problems. With the ability of Evolutionary Algorithm to tackle Lot Sizing and the Solver which is capable of running Evolutionary Algorithm, it can be concluded that solving Lot Sizing can be done using the Solver. For the case example in this research, Lot Sizing produced from the Evolutionary Algorithm and Solver requires a total cost of 62.090 Rubles.

Abstract

Eastucoffebar merupakan salah satu café yang berkonsep industrial, Cafe ini berdiri sejak tahun 2019 dengan nama Kaowa Koffie dan melakukan re-branding di 2021 dengan nama Eastucoffebar dengan tujuan untuk menghadirkan konsep kedai yang lebih modern dan menyenangkan bagi pengunjung. Permasalahan pelayanan pada Eastucoffebar ini ialah, Keterlambatan sajian makanan, Kualitas rasa makanan yang kurang konsisten, Kurangnya penerangan pada area tertentu dan Kurangnya terminal Listrik di beberapa area. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kepuasan pelanggan terhadap kualitas layanan yang diberikan oleh UMKM Eastucoffebar dan untuk memperbaiki strategi pelayanan guna untuk meningkatkan kepuasan pelanggan. Sample dari penelitian ini terdiri dari data primer dan data skunder, Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara, kuesioner dan dokumentasi, Alat analisis deskriptif, Uji validitas dan Uji rehabilitas, Analisis Servqual dan Diagram Kartesius. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan metode servqual nilai rata-rata Kenyataan (391) dan Harapan (402) sehingga adanya gap -11 yang menunjukan customer belum puas. Lalu perhitungan menggunakan metode IPA pada kuadran I (Prioritas Utama) dan III (Prioritas Rendah) yang perlu dilakukan perbaikan. Dari beberapa kuadran tersebut Pihak Eastucoffebar harus lebih memperhatikan pelayanan yang diberikan kepada customer, dan sebaiknya perlu melakukan training karyawan guna untuk meningkatkan Kepuasan Pelanggan.

Abstract

Porous paving is a type of paving that allows water from rainfall or other sources to seep through the paving, which can reduce runoff from a location and increase groundwater recharge. In this study, porous paving uses coarse aggregates measuring 5-10 mm, a water-cement factor of 0.4% and the addition of coal fly ash and volcanic ash. Testing includes density, water absorption, and compressive strength of porous paving with a mixture composition of coal fly ash and volcanic ash of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% tested at 28 days with 30 test objects. For the ratio of cement and coarse aggregate 1:4. The best compressive strength results were obtained by adding fly ash and volcanic ash 2.5%, namely 182,500 kg/cm2, 0% = 182,000 kg/cm2, 5% = 181,667 kg/cm2, 7.5% = 181,167 kg/cm2, and 10% = 180,667 kg/cm2. The smallest porosity Addition of fly ash and volcanic ash 2.5% = 1.47%, addition of 0% = 1.55%, 5% = 1.94%, 7.5% = 2.33% and 10% = 2.35%. The highest density when adding fly ash and volcanic ash is 2.5% = 1.04 gr/cm3, 5% = 1.03 gr/cm3, 7.5% = 1.03 gr/cm3, 0% = 1.03 gr/cm3 and 10% = 1.02 gr/cm3.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence technology is becoming an essential component in education, especially for students, due to AI's potential to enhance learning efficiency, provide personalized solutions, and improve digital skills. However, AI utilization also presents challenges, such as over-reliance on technology and data privacy issues. This research aims to analyze the potential and challenges of AI implementation in the learning process among Industrial Engineering students. This study employs the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to evaluate various criteria related to the benefits and challenges of using AI. Data were collected through questionnaires from 90 Industrial Engineering students at the Kalimantan Institute of Technology and The Indonesian institute OF technology & business. The results indicate that AI has significant potential in enhancing information access, task efficiency, and students’ overall learning experience. On the other hand, the main challenges faced by students include reliance on AI, reduced critical thinking skills, and concerns about data security and privacy.

Abstract

This research was conducted in a factory that produces polypropylene, polyethylene, and high density plastics located in North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Based on the characteristics of its products, the company implements a make to stock system. However, the products experience quite high damage reaching 20% ​​of its total production. Therefore, this study will analyze the causes of defective products during storage in a plastic factory. In this study, historical data of damage that occurred and Pareto Diagram were used to obtain the main causes and analyze them so that defective products when stored in the warehouse can be reduced. Based on the Pareto Diagram, it was found that sticky and discolored plastics dominate the number of defective products. To prevent this, it is necessary to manage the temperature of the storage room, provide a good understanding for operators and inspect materials according to standards

Abstract

The layout design at Warehouse III of XYZ Company is expected to solve the problem of material flow patterns and material movement distances which are currently still ineffective. Designing the right layout is carried out to increase warehouse productivity and help the company regulate the flow of processes and material movements so that it runs easier and smoother. This study aims to provide an efficient and effective layout of the proposed warehouse layout, by paying attention to the flow pattern and the optimal area area in increasing the productivity of warehouse III. Therefore, the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method is used in designing the layout of Warehouse III. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference in the total material displacement distance from the initial layout. In the proposed layout, there is a reduction in the material displacement distance from 75.2  to 60.4 .

Abstract

XYZ is a company engaged in the processing of oil and gas, serving as a crude oil storage facility. The issue concerns the workload and work shifts of the employees. This study aims to determine whether there is an impact of workload and work shifts on operator employees. The method used in this study is quantitative. The research results show that the workload has a significant effect on employee work stress, as obtained from the t-test with a significant value of 0.022 < 0.05, which means that the workload has a significant partial effect on work stress. Meanwhile, work shifts do not have a significant effect on employee work stress, as obtained from the t-test with a significant value of 0.196 > 0.05, meaning work shifts do not have a significant partial effect on work stress. This is because the majority of operators in the company have worked for more than 1 year, which means that operators have already adapted to the shift changes. This study is expected to contribute to reducing the factors that can cause work stress among operator employees. Improvement recommendations are proposed to increase unit effectiveness, such as establishing a maintenance schedule, checking and replacing components, and operator training. It is hoped that this research can contribute to increasing the effectiveness of unit use and company productivity.

Abstract

Quality control is a crucial factor that plays a major role in ensuring company operations run effectively and efficiently. This study aims to determine what factors cause defects in products that can affect water quality as well as to determine the sigma level and defect rate of Anion Exchange No.2 water products in three months. In data processing using the Six Sigma method with five stages known as DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control). The use of the DMAIC stage aims to improve product quality control and reduce costs incurred due to defective products. The most influential factor in the production of Anion Exchange No.2 water is the material factor. From this research, it is known that the average DPMO value is 15980,38 and sigma value is 3,74 which is the achievement of the average sigma level of the Indonesia industry with a level value of 3 sigma.
