Abstract

Rasulan is one of cultural festivals which can be found in Gunungkidul, one of the regencies in Yogyakarta Special Region. This tradition is usually held annually to express people’s gratitude for all the harvests. The local residents who mostly earn their living by cultivating their lands work together to conduct this festival by performing some kinds of activities ranging from sport competition, religious, and cultural performance. This research aims to describe the origin, sequences and the values of this tradition which party explain why the local people still preserve this festivity. An exploratory descriptive qualitative research is employed to reveal. Qualitative data are collected from documentation, and library research. In addition, some interviews are conducted to indulge more information from the village leaders who knows more about the development of this festivity. The obtained results reveal the sequence of activities from beginning until the end. This tradition also brings about various value such as religious, social, cultural and economical. This study brings some theoretical contribution and implications on the potentials of this event for tourists’ attraction.Keywords : cultural festival, motivations, perceptions, Rasulan, Gunungkidul

Abstract

Compared to other ASEAN countries, Thailand excels in terms of tourism growth in 2016. The period of January to October 2016, 27.076.308 Indonesian tourists visited Thailand, while Thailand’s tourists visit to Indonesia only 9.403.614. Why it happened? Whereas Indonesia including the 6 most beautiful country sites version Rough Guides, beating some countries such as the UK, Switzerland and Finland, and was chosen because of the cluster of gathering, cultural diversity, volcanoes, and even Indonesia became the only Asian country in the top 10 Tourism is worldwide. Tourism is currently experiencing a shift in the role. For many cities in Indonesia, travel has become a primary need. Motivational factors are also related to visitor’s satisfaction because different destination may have different factors that attract visitor to the place. The research method used in this study is descriptive with quantitative approach. The research instrument is questionnaire with 5-point likert scale, distributed either directly on the site with 397 respondents who have ever travelled to the locations under study. Abstract

Lokal wisdoms which are exist in the society of ecotourism area of Gunung Api Purba Nglanggeran can improve its tourism attraction in this area. However, this potential attraction has not been executed maximally. Therefore, identification towards its local wisdoms which are exist in the society of ecotourism area of Gunung Api Purba Nglanggeran is important to be conducted. This research used qualitative method. This study is aiming at identifying the local wisdoms which can improve tourism attraction in the ecotourism area of Gunung Api Purba Nglanggeran. This research showed that there are some local wisdoms that were successfully identified such as sacred places or places which has its folklore, customary law, belief, rituals, and arts. Those various local wisdoms have its beauty, uniqueness, and appropriate meaning that can improve tourism attraction in the ecotourism area of Gunung Api Purba Nglanggeran.Keywords: Local Wisdom, Tourism Attraction

Abstract

Selfie photo activity has a close effect on the development of one's life in creating selfconfidence and acculturation from the development of self-actualization which is the highest level of Abraham Maslow's Need theory. Selfie and social media in arts as form of existence are the right word to response upon the development of society. There is an issue would be discuss in this article; discuss about elements of arts existence, commodification of arts, and patterns of consumption. By using qualitative research methods to obtain effective research results in accordance with case studies of the development of the world of selfie tourism that cannot be controlled in line with the development of multimedia and the gadget era that is able to accelerate various information needs in the world of social communication media. Abstract

Boyolali district is identical with dairy. Dangean village is located in the District of Cepogo which is a milk producing center in Boyolali. The majority of Dangean people as dairy farmers. The efforts to diversify the community business are by packing the daily activities of residents as a breeder to serve as a tourist attraction in rural tourism. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The method that is used in this research is experiment. The sample determination is done by purposive method that is foreign student representing foreign tourists. The sample is 5 foreign students. The number of samples is determined by considering the readiness of the facilities currently available in Dangean. The results of research conducted by a team of researchers from Ambarrukmo Tourism institute (STIPRAM) Yogyakarta showed that the attractions and packaging tour packages are the factors that become the main preference tourists when traveling in Dangean. The main strengths of Dangean are the activity of attractiveness, the visual landscape of the area, and the package of tourism activities. While the weakness that is currently owned by Dangean is the low level of popularity, competitiveness, and service.Keywords: Dangean Village, Kampung Wisata, attractions, tour packages.

Abstract

Tingkat kepuasan wisatawan akan dinilai dengan mengunakan 6 variabel tersebut dengan metode pengambilan sampel yaitu menggunakan Metode Accidental Sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 100 responden yang mengunjungi kawasan Titik Nol Kilometer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui kualitas fasilitas public space kawasan Titik Nol Kilometer paska revitalisasi ; (2) mengetahui tingkat kepuasan wisatawan terhadap keberadaan public space di kawasan Titik Nol Kilometer paska revitalisasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif menggunakan survey. Data yang telah didapatkan selanjutnya di analisis menggunakan metode Importance Performance Analysis.

Abstract

Tourism is a large travel industry, because it involves a lot of people in the process and contributing a large mount of foreign exchange for the country. People’s decision to travel is influenced by motivation. Knowledge of regarding tourist travel motivation can assist in marketing and product planning and development. Research were related to the push motivation have been carried out in several countries, so it is necessary to do similar research to understand tourist motivation and reason why they come to visit Yogyakarta. This study is to analyse the influence of push motivation of foreign tourists’ decision to visit Yogyakarta. This research found that mostly foreign tourist who visited to Yogyakarta were female than male. They were dominated by 18-30 year old, travel as acouple, with friends and familly member. Push motivation in dimension seeking relaxation is the most significant influent of foreign tourist decision, than follow by gaining knowledge, sightseeing variety, enhancing relation, escaping daily routine and enhancing social circle.in fact fulfilling spiritual needs and fulfilling prestige doesn’t significantly influence of tourist decision to visit Yogyakarta.Key words: Push Motivation, Foreign Tourist, Tourist Decision, Yogyakarta

Abstract

Due to the growing demand of french need in tourism industry and the need for analysing the appropriate materials for Tourism Undergraduate Students in Yogyakarta, the subjective needs and objective analysis are primodial in developping french curriculum. This study is an attempt to analyze subjective and objective language learning needs for tourism undergraduate students of STIPRAM. This study was a qualitative descriptive study using questionnaire method for gathering the data needed. The questionnaire was arranged in multiple–option question pattern. The results of the data analysis revealed there are some differences concerning the theme choices, the belief about the focus of French language learning skills. But there is no difference betwee subjective and objective learning needs of students related to the reason studying french, the importance of french, the future domain of french use and the teaching approach and methode applied in the class. Abstract

Health tourism particularly medical tourism has been an attention by Indonesian government. Many Indonesian citizens travel overseas to get medical treatment and it has made millions dollars of money went out of country. Indonesia works to mitigate the loose of money because of the citizens seeking medical treatment overseas. Consumer motivations in health tourism is various such as to get a better health facilities at better price. This research sets out to find out hospitals in Yogyakarta that provides health tourism service, and also the potential medical treatment in Yogyakarta. Literature studies, observation and interview are conducted to collect data and information. This research finds there are two hospitals in Yogyakarta have been focusing and experiencing in health tourism. The potential medical treatments are infertility, skin and beauty care, urology and all the medical services provided by these two hospitals. Elaboration and cooperation among stakeholders in health tourism need to be continuously improved to prepare Yogyakarta as health tourism destination. Abstract

The ability to display a positive image for a university that is trustworthy is a necessity that cannot be bargained, given the competitive conditions faced by the world of higher education in Indonesia today are very competitive, not only local and regional even to the global level. One of the work units responsible for the formation of corporate image is public relations. STIPRAM in order to improve its image has carried out roles and several public relations strategies, including building internal and external communication. Internal communications such as employee relations, student relations, management and foundation relations while external communication such as relations with government, associations, LLDikti, collaboration with domestic and foreign universities, tourism industry, media relations, Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR), Publications, exhibitions and road shows to several high school and vocational schools in edufair form to introduce STIPRAM even closer to prospective students.
