Abstract

The general objective of this research is to support and analyze the management of educational funding in Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Bandung. The specific objectives in this study, namely: 1) To identify the management of educational funding at SMK in Bandung, 2) To identify the quality of SMK in the city of Bandung, and 3) To find out the role of financial management in improving the quality of education in SMK. This study is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The data source is taken from 32 school principals. The results showed that the management of educational funding had a positive and significant effect on school quality that was equal to 58.7%. The regression equation that is obtained linearly means that the higher the management of education funding, the higher the quality of schools in Vocational High Schools in Bandung.

Abstract

Essay is the most essential part in writing critical essay. It is one of the subjects that learned by English students. CIRC is a method to improve students’ writing ability. Cooperative integrated reading composition (CIRC) was implemented on students’ writing skill through quasi experimental research; post-test only group design. Sample of the research was thirty nine students. Writing test was used to collect the data and analyzed by using independent t-test. The finding was students who were taught by cooperative integrated reading composition (CIRC) had better scores of writing critical essay than those who were taught by small group discussion. It meant that CIRC give an effect toward students to improve their writing skill.

Abstract

All of schools policy will surely reap different reactions. 2013 curriculum which was allegedly reformer of KTSP is now a big question about the success of its implementation. This study aims to describe the process of implementing the curriculum 2013 transition at Junior High School of Taman Dewasa Ibu Pawiyatan Tamansiswa, Yogyakarta. The method of this study was qualitative with the type of case study approach. The results of this study indicate that (1). Curriculum planning involves all relevant stakeholders, including: the principal, deputy head of curriculum, deputy head of students’ affairs, deputy head of facilities and infrastructure, teacher teams and school committees. (2). The implementation of the curriculum was carried out in stages. Starting with applying the 2 013 curriculum in grades 7 and 8, meanwhile grade 9 still uses the KTSP. (3). Evaluation of curriculum has two categories of assessment that come from internal and external schools.  The results describe that 2013 curriculum can be implemented gradually well. The conclusion is transition from KTSP to 2013 curriculum gradually. In the near future, the school will implement the 2013 curriculum thoroughly in every class without leaving the school’s specificity with the values of art, culture and character.

Abstract

Services to internal customers have not been a focus of attention in school. Services to internal customers are not the main priority. These conditions encourage the deficient optimal in vocational education services to external customers. The purpose of research is to identify the strategic framework in the development of human resources development to realize the performance of services for customers Internal. The research is using descriptive type survey. The results showed that teachers and staff received deficient attention. Based on the framework strategy which is owned by the primary focus is fulfill the internal customers need through increased critical awareness and values fundamental individual value commitment to vocational education.

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the role of distributive leadership (DL) of headmasters in selected primary school at Ampang, Selangor. DL is an important strategic approach which leads to quality education. Headmasters’ distributive roles have four dimensions includes shared mission, vision and goals, school culture, spontaneous collaboration and shared responsibilities. The research design of this study is a quantitative method, and questionnaire is used to collect the data. There are N=351 primary teachers from two type’s school categories which are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) were selected by random sampling. Findings show that there is a high level of DL (M=3.74, SD=.59) demonstrated by headmasters. This study clearly shows Malaysia practices a bureaucratic system in education. Results also show that headmasters' leadership style influence the school managements which is lead to students’ learning outcomes. These studies have implications for administrator, teachers, students and education policymaker. The results of this study provide ideas to policymakers to take action to enact the appropriate module with school context. In brief, headmasters play distributive roles in enhancing teachers’ development and students’ improvement to realise an effective school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berupaya mengkaji mengenai dampak penerapan strategi manajerial yang dilakukan kepala sekolah terhadap capaian mutu kepala sekolah. Strategi manajerial dalam penelitian ini diukur ke dalam enam domain strategi, yakni 1) efektivitas pengelolaan sekolah, 2) penguatan kompetensi lulusan, 3) pembaharuan kurikulum sekolah, 4) efektivitas proses pembelajaran, 5) optimalisasi sarana dan prasarana, serta 6) pemberdayaan guru dan staf. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 43 sekolah SMA Negeri dan SMK Negeri di Kota Bandung melalui analisis regresi data panel selama periode 2016-2018. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi manajerial berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap capaian mutu sekolah. Dari sejumlah strategi yang diteliti, strategi efektivitas pengelolaan sekolah, pembaharuan kurikulum sekolah, efektivitas proses pembelajaran, serta strategi optimalisasi sarana dan prasarana seluruhnya berpengaruh secara signifikan positif terhadap capaian mutu sekolah. Sedangkan strategi penguatan kompetensi lulusan dan pemberdayaan guru dan staf berpengaruh tidak signifikan terhadap capaian mutu sekolah. Sebagai rekomendasi dari penelitian ini, perlu kiranya kepala sekolah menekankan pada upaya-upaya nyata dalam memperkuat kompetensi lulusan serta memberdayakan guru dan staf untuk terlibat secara aktif dan memberikan kontribusi optimal terhadap peningkatan mutu sekolah.

Abstract

Transformational leadership supports higher education to frame their attitudes to shift their university forward. It has four leader higher education characteristics. Of these, idealized influence is defined as leader’s behavior and the follower’s attributions about the leader. Inspirational motivation refers to the ways by which transformational leaders motivate and inspire those around them. Individualized consideration represents the leader’s continuing effort to treat each individual as a special person and act as a mentor; who attempts to develop their potential. Finally, intellectual stimulation represents the leader’s higher education effort to stimulate followers to be innovative and creative to define problems and approach them in new ways. It is considered that who demonstrate these leader higher education characteristics of transformational leadership have effects on satisfaction leader University UII Yogyakarta and better performance at university. Therefore, this study purposes to discover the level of transformational leadership that higher education demonstrate at higher education during their administrative practices on daily basis. Results reveal that university demonstrate high level of characteristics of transformational leadership in terms of idealized influence, inspirational motivation, individualized consideration and intellectual stimulation behaviors.

Abstract

This paper was written with the aim of providing insight into the synchronization of the Dual System Education (DSE) program in Vocational Schools with work requirements. Dual System Education (DSE) is a form of providing vocational expertise education and training that integrates systematically and synchronously between school education programs and work mastery programs, which aim to; produce workforce that has professional expertise, improve and strengthen link and match between vocational and world education institutions, improve the efficiency of the education process and training professional-quality workforce, and provide recognition and appreciation of work experience as part of the education process. The partnership between educational institutions and the business world/industry is the key to the success of Dual System Education (DSE) in Vocational Schools, where education is designed, implemented and evaluated together.

Abstract

The success of school principals in changing the work culture of a better school depends on the mindset of change they have. This study seeks to prove whether or not there is an influence on the principal's mindset of leadership on work culture in schools. The research was conducted on 156 state Junior High School’s teachers in West Bandung Regency, West Java. Through survey methods and quantitative approaches, the data obtained were analyzed using correlation technique analysis.  The results showed that the principal's mindset had a significant correlation with school's work culture. This is based on Pearson's correlation value of 0.510, and included in the strong correlation category. As a recommendation, school principals must have a transformative, innovative and visionary principal’s mindset in building a work culture in schools.

Abstract

This research aimed to obtain information on: Performance of teachers, Implementation of supervision and significant influence between the implementation of the supervision to the teachers performance at SMKN Business and Management in Padang. The hypothesis of this research is the implementation of academic supervision significantly affect to the teachers performance. The population this research are 125 people all of teachers. Samples 76 people were taken using Random Sampling. Instrument of research using questionnaire with Likert scale models that have been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using correlation and simple regression techniques with the help of statistical program SPSS version 20.0 IBMM. The results showed that: the performance of teachers enough category in the level of achievement of 71.49%. Implementation of supervision by the principal enough category in the level of achievement of 69.14% and Implementation of supervision by the principal positive effect on the performance of teachers at SMK Business and  Management Group in Padang City of 9.3
