Our publication could be research on teaching method, experiment of teaching aid or media, and even effectiveness of lesson study. We accepted any manuscript derived from research of mathematics education. We will not process manuscript from research approach of school management.

Abstract

The ability of mathematical problem-solving is a crucial element in a mathematical learning process that allows learners to deepen their understanding comprehensively. To overcome the various challenges that arise in this process, effective learning solutions are needed, including the use of tools or media such as Wordwall edugame. This study aims to investigate how Wordwall educational games affect the improvement of students' abilities in solving mathematical problems. The study adopted a quantitative experimental method utilizing a Pretest-Posttest Control and quasi-experimental Design, each class consisted of 40 grade VII students selected through a purposive sampling technique. The research utilizes a test as its measuring tool for mathematical problem-solving ability. The statistical test results revealed that using Wordwall edugame had a profound impact on enhancing mathematical problem-solving ability, with a paired sample t-test value of <0.001. After the treatment was applied, the average scores increased significantly, with the experimental class averaging from 18.85 to 53.2 and the control class from 22.83 to 41.83. The experimental class showed a significant improvement before and after the treatment, while the control class did not show a significant change in this study, indicating that using Wordwall edugame media significantly improved math problem-solving ability.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of the online media Kahoot on the average results of critical thinking scores in mathematics for class V students. Mathematics is the main subject introduced at the elementary, middle and high school levels. This is different from conditions in the field where mathematics is a fear for students because they think that this subject is difficult. This is proven by the low average scores obtained by students. Students sometimes don't focus on working on questions and get bored quickly because they deliver material that seems monotonous. This assistance in mathematics subjects, especially critical thinking skills, was experienced by fifth grade students at SDN 1 Tambahrejo. The type of research is quantitative Pre Experimental in a One Group Pretest Posttest design. Data collection uses several techniques, namely observation, interviews, documentation and tests. In this research, the sample used was 19 fifth grade students at SD N 1 Addahrejo. The results of this research show that the average value of the pretest data is 41.37, while the average posttest value shows a result of 80.58. Based on this data, students experienced an increase in the average value of 39.21. Based on the presentation of the results of the data obtained, it shows that there is an influence, namely the difference in the average value of critical thinking in mathematics for class V students through the use of the online media Kahoot. Abstract

This research is motivated by the still low level of attention and participation of students during the process mathematics learning. Media used to support learning only use the Mathematics package book for class VII independent curriculum and learning is still centered on the teacher. Based on these problems, researchers developed mathematics Student Worksheets based on constructivism on quadrilateral material for class VII SMP Pertiwi 2 Padang. The aim of the research is to produce a valid and practical constructivism-based mathematics worksheet on rectangular plane material. This type of research is development research. In this study, researchers used research procedures by Borg and Gall. Data used to assess the validity of the media were obtained from validation sheets by worksheets characteristic and language experts and design experts, while the data used to assess practicality is obtained from the sheet student practicality. The worksheets developed contains flat material rectangular . The product validity assessment was carried out by two lecturers and declared valid for use from the aspects of worksheets characteristics, language and design. Practicality assessment from students' practicality questionnaire at the test stage try with practicality criteria of 77.46% based on ease of use use, ease of understanding, and time required. So it can be concluded that the constructivism-based worksheets in class VII mathematics learning at SMP Pertiwi 2 Padang is valid and practical to use as a mathematics learning medium. Based on the results of this research, researchers suggest that this worksheets can be used as an alternative media by teaching staff.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of relevant learning media for use in schools. The media currently used still includes worksheets, textbooks, and very limited visual aids. The purpose of this research is to develop Neargo (Nearpod Geometry) based learning media that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' spatial visual abilities in seventh-grade geometry material. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The subjects of the research were students of class VII E at SMP Negeri 3 Sumber. Data collection techniques included test instruments and questionnaires, with both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results of validation by material experts showed a percentage of 86.67%, while validation by media experts obtained a percentage of 90.83%. The student response questionnaires showed an average of 97%, and the teacher response questionnaires showed a percentage of 95%, both in the very practical category. The average N-Gain result was 0.856, indicating a high improvement in the use of the developed learning media. Based on this analysis, it can be concluded that Neargo learning media is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' spatial visual abilities in geometry material in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study intends to create a statistical learning model by integrating theory and practice, using the SPSS software application with case studies of problem solving in Computer Engineering and Informatics students at the Medan State Polytechnic. The design of this study began with a literature review before making lesson plans with the task of making teaching materials and providing content to students. Besides that, after the writer led the discussion, he was given the task of determining cases based on the subjects chosen by the students according to their interests. In this study there were 70 students who participated as the research sample. NONCase and STDCase both have standard deviation values ​​of 1.62001 and 1.84694, respectively. Because the average learning outcomes of NONCase 74.2571 and STDCase 78.8857 show that descriptively there are differences between NONCase-based learning and case study/STDCase-based learning. The NONCase method and the STDCase learning method using the SPSS program have a significant linear relationship between the variables, according to case study-based research. Using the formula F count = 0.982 > F table = 1.507 It can be concluded that there is a significant linear relationship between the mastery of the STDCase learning approach and the SPSS program because F count is smaller than F table

Abstract

Etnomatematika merupakan salah satu bentuk matematika yang berbasis pada budaya. Salah satu konteks yang dekat dengan siswa adalah konteks budaya, seperti keranjang penampi yang berpotensi sebagai konteks pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pembelajaran lintasan dengan menggunakan pendekatan RME dengan nampan sebagai konteks untuk membantu siswa memahami hubungan antara titik pusat dan titik sudut keliling lingkaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode desain penelitian jenis studi validasi yang meliputi tiga tahap yaitu desain awal, eksperimen, dan analisis retrospektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 3 tahap utama, (1) Desain awal, pada tahap ini peneliti menyusun Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) dan menghasilkan tiga unsur yaitu tujuan pembelajaran, aktivitas pembelajaran, dan hipotesis atau asumsi. (2) Desain eksperimen, pada tahap ini melibatkan 2 siklus yaitu, validasi HLT yang menghasilkan 6 kegiatan berupa, membuat sketsa lingkaran sederhana, mengidentifikasi titik pusat sudut dan sudut sekeliling lingkaran, menggambar titik pusat sudut dan sudut sekeliling pada kertas dengan dua warna yang berbeda, mengukur besar titik pusat sudut dan sudut sekeliling, menentukan hubungan antara keduanya dan menyelesaikan dua soal terkait, siklus berikutnya pengujian dilakukan oleh 16 siswa kelas IX MAN 2 Sungai Penuh. (3) Analisis retrospektif, dari hasil perbandingan dugaan pada tahap awal dengan data yang terjadi di lapangan, menunjukkan bahwa HLT yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti dapat diterima dan dengan mudah dipahami oleh siswa.

Abstract

This research explores the influence of using the traditional game Kweritop on students' collaborative character in understanding the concept of plane figures in mathematics learning at junior high schools in Merauke Regency. This research used an experimental design with two groups: the experimental group that applied the Kweritop game and the control group that used the conventional lecture method. The instrument used is a questionnaire to measure students' cooperative character, which has been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the Mann-Whitney statistical test showed a significant difference between the two groups, where the experimental group showed a higher cooperation rating than the control group. These findings indicate that the Kweritop game can increase student involvement and improve the character of cooperation in mathematics learning so that it can be an effective alternative in local culture-based learning.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is a mathematical concept integrated in a culture. The presence of mathematics related to cultural elements can make a significant contribution to the mathematics learning process. This study aims to identify and analyze the use of traditional games in Maros Regency as a medium for ethnomathematics-based mathematics learning. This research is relevant because traditional games contain mathematical concepts that can enrich students' understanding of mathematics material. This research uses a qualitative approach with the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation, interviews and literature searches from various databases, such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and related journals. Data analysis was conducted by compiling a data matrix to identify key themes, comparing findings from various studies, and synthesizing research results. The results of this study indicate that the ethnomathematics approach through traditional games can be an effective alternative to improve the quality of mathematics learning in schools.

Abstract

This research aims to apply the concept of ethnomathematics in mathematics learning through traditional Bugis-Makassar food, namely Tumpi-Tumpi. Ethnomathematics refers to understanding how mathematical concepts can be found in local cultures. The method used in this research is a literature study to review relevant literature on ethnomathematics in Bugis-Makassar typical food, especially Tumpi-Tumpi. The data obtained were then systematically synthesized and analyzed within a systematic literature review (SLR) framework to identify trends, gaps, and existing understandings regarding the application of mathematical concepts in traditional foods such as Tumpi-Tumpi. The results showed that Tumpi-Tumpi contains mathematical elements that can be used as teaching tools, such as the pattern and size of the food. This application of ethnomathematics can increase students' engagement in mathematics learning by linking mathematical concepts to their local culture. These findings highlight the importance of integrating ethnomathematics into mathematics learning through Tumpi-Tumpi to not only enrich students' learning experiences that are more meaningful and relevant, but also strengthen their cultural identity and understanding of mathematics in everyday contexts.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low mathematical communication skills of class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Kuok. One solution to overcome this problem is to use a Realistic Mathematic Education learning approach. This research aims to determine whether or not there is an influence of the Realistic Mathematic Education learning approach on the mathematical communication skills of class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Kuok. This research is a quasi-experimental study using a post-test control group design. The research subjects consisted of classes X.1, totaling 23 students, and X.2, totaling 23 students. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The data collection techniques used were observation sheets and mathematical communication ability test questions. The results of this research can be concluded that there is an influence of the Realistic Mathematic Education learning approach on the mathematical communication skills of class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Kuok. This can be proven through the Independent Sample T-Test, obtaining a sig(2-tailed) value of 0.024 < 0.05, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.
