Abstract

Even though they have studied it from elementary school to high school, English is one of the subjects studied by students. However, their speaking ability is quite fluent. This research analyzes the Management Study Program students' learning motivation to improve their English speaking skills. This type of research is qualitative. The sample in this research was 87 first-semester students of the Management Study Program. The data collection technique uses primary data in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of this research show that the learning motivation of management study program students towards improving speaking skills is very high. Indicators showing that students have high motivation with frequency and persistence in completing assignments are almost 100% intrinsic motivation. Apart from that, students also have extrinsic motivation, which is shown by a sense of enjoyment in the learning environment and good achievement for their efforts in mastering speaking skills; students desire to master speaking skills better so that they can later be used in looking for work.

Abstract

Current job demands related to technology must be well-prepared, and the younger generation must be equipped with collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and communication, which are related to the principles of project-based learning. This research aims to analyze the increase in creativity and skills in the vocal field, as well as the increase in the learning experience through digitalization. This research uses a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest control group design, with PjbL as treatment. This research instrument is a skills test (performance test) used during the pretest and posttest to measure singing ability, which consists of phrasing, pitch, and dynamics. Data analysis used the independent sample t-test. The research results show that the PjBL learning model effectively improves the quality of skills and creativity in the digitalization-based vocal field. The increase in the experimental group was higher than the control group. Therefore, the PjBL model can be tested to be applied to other learning that includes skills and creativity. The PjBL model is critical for vocal technique courses to achieve learning objectives.

Abstract

The 2018 PISA results, Indonesian Education Report Card Data, and AKM Scores show that the numeracy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in Indonesia still need to improve. One of the contributing factors is the dominance of the use of the lecture method in the learning process. This research analyzes the Problem-Based Learning Model with the TPACK Approach in the Numeracy Ability of Class V Elementary School Students. This research is an experimental research with a Nonequivalent Pretest post-test control Group Design. This research was conducted on fifth-grade elementary school students who were divided into an experimental group and a control group determined using the Cluster Random Sampling Technique. Data from this research was collected using a test method using a numeracy ability test instrument. Data were analyzed using the Polled Variance T-test because it has a homogeneous data variance. The results of this research show a significant difference in numeracy abilities in students who are taught using the Problem-Based Learning model with the TPACK Approach and in students who are not taught using this model. The Problem-Based Learning model with the TPACK approach can be used in the learning process, especially numeracy learning because this model can encourage students to learn independently so that students can discover and understand concepts through themselves.

Abstract

Many studies state that students' geometric problem-solving abilities in Indonesia are low. This research examines students' analogical reasoning in solving geometric problems in terms of their cognitive style. This descriptive qualitative research involves 32 class X high school students. The data collection methods used were tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis technique uses qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the analogical reasoning of students with a visualizer cognitive style was superior to the analogical sense of students with a verbalizer cognitive style in solving geometric problems. Students with a visualizer cognitive style can achieve four components of analogical reasoning: encoding, inferring, mapping, and applying. Students with a verbalizer cognitive style only achieve two parts: encoding and inferring. The implication of this research is the need for educators to identify each student's learning style, which can be done through initial learning assessments and providing differentiated learning stimuli to students according to their cognitive style. Strengthening students with a verbalizer cognitive style needs to be emphasized more during the mapping and applying process, including providing appropriate scaffolding and allowing students to verbally express problem-solving strategies, teaching material by showing problem concept maps, and increasing practice on more varied questions.

Abstract

Paradigm changes in implementing the independent curriculum are a tough challenge for teachers. Leadership that can facilitate teachers' needs for curriculum changes needs to be considered by all school principals who join the Driving School Program. This research aims to analyze the role of transformational leadership in school principals in supporting the implementation of the independent curriculum. This research uses a qualitative approach with a multi-case study design between school units. The research subjects were taken using a purposive sampling technique, including school principals, foundation administrators, and teachers, who were explored through interviews, observation, and document analysis. The research data were analyzed using constant comparative techniques. The research results show that female school principals have the same vision and mission in improving school quality, namely by supporting policies implemented by the government, namely the driving school program. Leadership that is integrated reflects transformational leadership with four dimensions, which include (1) ideal influence, providing exemplary examples to all members, (2) intellectual stimulation, facilitating both physical facilities and competence, (3) inspirational motivation, providing space and opportunities to communicating and providing motivation in work, as well as (4) individual consideration, paying attention to the competency development needs of its members. Implementing these four dimensions supports the realization of work motivation and commitment, which has implications for achieving teacher welfare and a positive school culture.
