Abstract

Drug storage is a series of activities that aim to store and maintain drugs or pharmaceutical preparations by placing stock of drugs or pharmaceutical preparations in a place that is considered safe. In a study conducted by Lestari in 2017, it was found that expired and damaged drugs at Benyamin Galuh Hospital were 5.79% (Lestari, 2017). Drug damage can cause negative effects that can harm the patient. In addition to storage, it is also necessary to have knowledge of qualified health personel because it is the final storage place for vaccines before they are given to patients. The aim of this research is This study aims to determine the factors that influence the level of knowledge of health personel at Karangmalang Health Center regarding vaccine management. This research is a cross- sectional type of analytical research, by distributing questionnaires and then analyzed descriptively about each respondent's characteristics and analyzed for predictor factors. The population of this study was taken from the population of health personel who work at the Karangmalang Public Health Center, Sragen. The sample used was 69 health personel consisting of medical and non-medical personnel. The results of the questionnaire distributed to 69 health personel at the Karangmalang Public Health Center, Sragen, 79.71% were in the good knowledge category. In this case, if the vaccine preparation has good quality or is damaged, the vaccine will be inefficient. Therefore, it is necessary to have sufficient knowledge of health personel to maintain the quality of vaccine preparations. The results of the analysis show that the predictor factors that affect the level of knowledge of Health personel about vaccine management at the Karangmalang Health Center, Sragen, are the level of education and age. Knowledge level has a strong relationship with education level of 0.564 and age of 0.605. If the level of education increases, the level of knowledge will increase by 0.723 times as well as increasing age, the level of knowledge will increase by 1.6 times.

Abstract

Flavonoids are one of the secondary metabolites that have good pharmacological activity. One of the plants that contain flavonoid compounds is beetroot leaves. Beetroot leaves are waste or crop residues from beetroots that are rarely used. The use of extracts from plant leaves in the pharmaceutical world needs to consider the presence of ballast substances that can affect the activity of the extract. However, the purification process using organic solvents has the potential to lose the content of compounds contained in the extract, one of which is flavonoids. Therefore, this study aims to examine the profile of flavonoid compounds contained in purified extracts of beetroot leaves compared to the extract content. The study began with the manufacture of beetroot leaf extract, followed by the purification process of the extract using n-hexane and ethyl acetate as solvents. Extracts and purified extracts of beetroot leaves were then analyzed using Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), UV-Vis Spectrophotometer and Infra Red (IR) Spectrophotometer. The results showed that the profile of flavonoid compounds contained in purified extract of beetroot leaves had similarities with the profile of flavonoid compounds found in beetroot leaf extract.

Abstract

Metal smelting has the potential to release micro-sized metal particles into the air. One of the metal smelting household industries is the gamelan industry. Brass is the basic material for making gamelan with a lead (Pb) content of 0.46%. In the process of making this gamelan, gamelan craftsmen will have a risk of exposure to Pb particles. Absorbed lead will be transported in the organs of the body as much as 95%, in the blood lead will be bound by erythrocytes and will interfere with the formation of hemoglobin. This study aims to see the relationship between Pb levels and the blood profile of metal forging workers in the gamelan industry, Wirun Mojolaban Village, Sukoharjo. This research is a quantitative, observational study with a sample size of 35 gamelan craftsmen in Wirun Village, Mojolaban Sukoharjo. The examination of Pb levels was carried out at BLK Jogja with GFAAS, while the examination of hemoglobin, leukocytes, platelets, hematocrit, and erythrocytes was carried out in the clinical laboratory. The results showed that there was no relationship between Pb levels in the blood and the number of hemoglobin, leukocytes, platelets, hematocrit, and erythrocytes. Although gamelan craftsmen are exposed to lead, they have not shown any symptoms of poisoning and have no blood disorders.
