Abstract

Pulmonary TB is a contagious infectious disease that can cause morbidity and death and Indonesia is in second place with the most TB cases (9.2%) globally, so it requires quality services in hospitals. The quality of service for TB patients in the ER with a triage system can be measured through indicators of length of stay. Objective to analyze the relationship between triage selection and length of stay for pulmonary TB patients in the emergency room at Sultan Suriansyah Hospital, Banjarmasin. Quantitative research with analytical survey design and cross sectional approach on 47 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique. Data was taken using observation techniques and analyzed using the chi square test. The majority of respondents were categorized as yellow triage with a total of 23 out of 47 people (48.9%) and were treated for ≥6 hours with a total of 33 out of 47 people (70.2%). The chi square test results show a p value of 0.000 < α 0.05 so that Ha is accepted, which means there is a relationship between triage selection and length of stay for pulmonary TB patients in the emergency room at Sultan Suriansyah Hospital, Banjarmasin. Yellow triage patients have a length of stay that exceeds the average so that the patient's family is expected to be able to understand and hand over nursing actions to professional health workers so that the care provided can run smoothly.

Abstract

Stigma towards People with Mental Disorders (ODGJ) is a serious problem in Indonesia. One of the efforts to address stigma against ODGJ involves promotional and preventive activities as part of a psychosocial approach, as outlined in Law No. 18 of 2014 on Mental Health. One of its goals is to eliminate stigma, discrimination, and human rights violations against people with mental disorders (ODGJ). In the digital era, android smartphones serve as communication tools and easily accessible sources of information due to their time, effort, and cost efficiency. The purpose of this research is to understand community attitudes towards the development of Android-Based Mental Health Intervention Media in addressing community stigma towards People with Mental Disorders (ODGJ) and to assess the stigma present in society towards ODGJ. This research is a descriptive quantitative study using purposive sampling on 100 community respondents. The study was conducted by distributing questionnaires on community attitudes towards the development of intervention media and questionnaires to assess community stigma towards ODGJ. The data was analysed descriptively and analytically. The results showed that the majority of the community stigma towards ODGJ remains low, at 59% (59 respondents), and community attitudes towards the development of intervention media applications are positive, at 62% (62 respondents). It is recommended that, with the positive attitude of the community towards the development of educational media to combat stigma against ODGJ, it can further reduce societal stigma towards ODGJ.

Abstract

Waste is an inseparable part of human life. Good community behavior in waste management can realize sustainable and environmentally friendly waste management. Conversely, in terms of health, waste that is not managed properly can facilitate the spread of disease so that the quality of public health can decrease. The design of this paper is a single case report. Data collection was carried out on February 15-20, 2024 in the population of Sukapura Village, Kiaracondong District, Bandung City with a total sampling technique of 1833 houses. The instrument used was the Self-Inspection Survey (SMD), with a validity and reliability value of 0.75. In general, the majority of houses already have waste disposal facilities. The behavior of the majority of residents of each house always disposes of garbage in its place, namely 91.43%. However, the habit of sorting waste still varies. The majority of residents of the house do not sort between organic and inorganic waste, namely 46.7%, while those who only sort are 32.79% and those who have sorted and processed it into compost or magot are 20.51%. One of the main problems in organic waste management in Kelurahan Sukapura is the low motivation of the community in general in the organic waste management process. For further research, it is necessary to examine more deeply and accountably related to the knowledge and perceptions of the people of Sukapura Village about waste and waste sorting, other factors that correlate with waste sorting behavior, and the reasons why the people of Sukapura Village do not sort waste so that work programs can be arranged that are targeted and sustainable.

Abstract

In the initial survey, it was discovered that most of the fishermen from Kembang Tanjong sub-district and Simpang Tiga sub-district were traditional fishermen and used very little personal protective equipment, which made it possible for dermatitis to occur in fishermen. They stated that using personal protective equipment such as gloves, shoes and head coverings could hinder movement. When they work, personal hygiene is also given less attention due to the habit of fishermen spending the night in the middle of the sea when fishing, so fishermen do not prioritize their personal hygiene. The purpose of this study is to determine the analysis of risk factors for the incidence of dermatitis in fishermen on the coast of Kembang Tanjong District and Simpang Tiga District, Pidie Regency. This type of research is descriptive analytic using a cross sectional design. The population and sample in this study were all research subjects and objects studied, namely 298 fishermen. Data analysis in this study was univariate, bivariate and multivariate. The results of the study showed that there were five variables that had a relationship with the incidence of dermatitis in fishermen, namely personal hygiene (P-value 0.000), knowledge (P-value 0.000), use of PPE (P-value 0.000), education (p-value 0.007) and history of allergies (P-value 0.000) and for variables that do not have a significant relationship, namely the role of health workers (p-value 0.760) and length of service (pvalue 0.60. Conclusion: It is hoped that the results of this research can be used as input to improve health promotion by providing education to fishermen and other communities about dermatitis in the Kembang Tanjong and Simpang Tiga sub-districts in order to raise awareness among fishermen and other communities to make efforts to prevent dermatitis such as personal hygiene and use of PPE while working.

Abstract

Dry eye is often found in patients with diabetes mellitus. One of the microvascular complications of diabetes mellitus is diabetic retinopathy. Dry eye in diabetic retinopathy patients is caused by chronic hyperglycaemia which causes microvascular and nerve damage resulting in decreased tear secretion and hyperosmolarity and activates inflammatory mediators that can damage conjunctival goblet cells and decrease mucin secretion. Objective: This study aims to determine the description of dry eye severity through the OSDI scoring system and ferning test in diabetic retinopathy patients based on its degree. Method: This study uses a descriptive method with a cross sectional design. The number of samples in the study were 64 people with a diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy. The sampling technique in this study was carried out by consecutive sampling. Result: The study was conducted using the OSDI questionnaire and ferning test examination on samples that had been diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research data were compiled using Microsoft Excel and then reviewed for completeness. Then the complete data was processed using a computer programme, namely the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The results obtained from this research are most patients were female (64.1%), aged 45-65 years (79.7%), diabetes mellitus duration >5 years (60.9%). The most common degree of retinopathy with dry eye was PDR (64.1%). The most common degree of dry eye and type of ferning was severe dry eye (62.5%) and type IV (59.4%) which mostly occurred in patients with PDR. Conclusions: Based on the OSDI score and ferning test in the study conducted on diabetic retinopathy patients based on the degree, all patients had dry eye (100%).
