Abstract

Someone who survives a stroke attack with live change is called a stroke survivor. Several limitations both of physics and psycho as an impact from stroke attack need attention, with no expectation in a non-urban area. The most common intervention for it is complementary therapy, which combines conventional medicine and non-conventional treatments. Sociodemographics, beliefs, values, and culture are considered for use. This study aims to explore stroke therapy in non-urban areas—methods: A qualitative descriptive study supported by 17 participants. Participants’ observations and in-depth interviews are collecting data methods. Content analysis is used to analyze data for this research. The setting area for this research is Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The study results are three themes that represent the participants interviewed. These were 1)preventing joint stiffness and muscle weakness, 2)cooking, and 3)seeking spiritual support. Stroke disease has the golden period for acute care and rehabilitation training times; when optimizing this time, the loss of body function is controlled. Long-term care for stroke survivors needs several supports, including complementary therapy. Instruction, instructor, and right, safe guidance are necessary for continued recovery in a community setting.

Abstract

An increase in HIV cases in housewives is at risk of increasing the population of children exposed to HIV. Caregivers of children exposed to HIV are at risk of having problems caring for children exposed to HIV. The difficulties experienced by caregivers can be affected by the condition of the child, who may or may not be infected with HIV. This study aims to get an n overview of the emotional experience of caregivers in caring for children underfive who are exposed to HIV. Methods: The research design uses a qualitative method with a phenomenology approach. Data collection was carried out using snowball sampling techniques and obtained from ten participants domiciled in Jakarta and its surroundings. The participants recruited in this study are caregiver of HIV-exposed children. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interview techniques. Data analysis uses thematic analysis using the Colaizzi method. This study obtained ten participants consisting of seven biological mothers, two children’s relatives and one foster parent. There were seven children with HIV-negative and five children with HIV-positive. Two caregivers in this study cared for more than one child exposed to HIV, namely one child with HIV-positive and one child with HIV-negative. The study found three themes: easy versus complex; grace and entrustment; and love and pity. This study concluded the that there are differences in emotional experiences among caregivers in caring for children underfive exposed to HIV influenced by the child’s HIV status. Positive affirmations and emotional support from health professionals adjusted to the values and socio-cultural condition of caregivers will benefit caregivers in providing adequate care for children.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease is a disease with the highest percentage of non-communicable diseases that cause death worldwide. Several cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, heart failure, and myocardial infarction require the same ongoing care plan, both in the hospital and at home. Transitional care is very important for patients with cardiovascular disease and the management post hospitalization is conscientious to prevent re-hospitalization. Objective : This study aims to describe the care transition of families of patients with cardiovascular disease to post-hospitalization. Method: The research design uses quantitative research with descriptive methods. The research was conducted in January - April 2023 using the accidental sampling technique with total of 78 respondents at the Tangerang Private Hospital using the Family Caregiver Activation in Transitions Tool (FCAT) instrument. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis. Results: The results showed ¬that most of the respondents (55.2%) had high or good transitional care. While others (44.9%) are in the low category. Conclusions : The ideal transitional care needs multidisciplinary teams to collaborate. Nurses play a crucial part in the discharge process by coordinating care and communicating with significant parties such as families and community providers to facilitate smooth transfers of care. Further study related to nurses' abilities to deliver appropriate transitional care is also required in the future.

Abstract

Radiotherapy for breast cancer has been proven to be highly effective, able to significantly reduce the risk of recurrence and lower the risk of death in the long term. However, behind these great benefits, there are side effects that need to be considered, such as skin toxicity, which can have a significant impact on the patient's physical and psychological condition. Therefore, it is necessary to review various literature to determine the various experiences of breast cancer patients with acute skin toxicity who underwent radiotherapy. Objective: To explore and analyze the experiences of breast cancer patients with acute toxicity undergoing radiotherapy through the literature. Method: Search for articles using the keywords acute skin toxicity AND breast cancer AND experience AND radiotherapy. Articles were searched through three online databases, namely sciencedirect (n = 43 articles), pubmed (n = 38 articles), and proquest (n = 32 articles). A total of 113 articles were collected through the data base. Through three screening processes that met the criteria, 4 articles were obtained. Results: This study found an outline of the classification of themes that emerged, namely: physical, functional, psychological impacts, and prevention of skin disorders due to radiotherapy as well as knowledge of breast cancer patients regarding radiotherapy. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to improving health care by expanding the scope of services to not only cover physical problems but also non-physical.
