Abstract

Gita Crescentia is a Catholic youth community choir at St. Yakobus Church, Jakarta, which faces issues with the members’ low frequency of individual vocal practice. This problem affects the quality of rehearsals and overall performance during services. Through a community-based approach, a habit tracker intervention was designed and implemented over two weeks to encourage independent practice habits. The intervention involved active participation from members and committees of the community. It was evaluated formatively using Global Progress and summatively with Self Report Habit Index (SRHI). Results indicated an increase in the average frequency of independent practice from the first to the second week. These findings indicate that the habit trackers contributed to building a more consistent and autonomous rehearsal routine, the impact however was not significant. This activity highlights the importance of member participation in designing programs relevant to the community’s needs and the role of ongoing monitoring in sustaining newly formed habits.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) conducted by the Untar Team (Universitas Tarumanagara) at Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi Public Relations Indonesia (LSPPRI) aims to provide guidance to prospective participants of the Public Relations (PR) competency test regarding the necessary preparations prior to undertaking the examination. This PKM initiative is important to be implemented as part of efforts to support the government in encouraging skilled individuals to obtain professional certification from the Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP). The PKM Untar plays a significant role in motivating public relations practitioners to acquire professional certification in the field. The existence of Untar’s PKM provides opportunities for the public to learn about and participate in the professional certification program for Public Relations. The workshop participants consisted of public relations personnel from one of the Ministries and several State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), who registered themselves to take the PR competency test at LSPPRI. As a Professional Certification Institute (LSP), LSPPRI has received authorization from BNSP to conduct competency tests, issue PR professional certificates, and prepare competency test materials on behalf of BNSP. The Untar PKM Team contributed by providing education on the implementation process of the PR competency test, determining the appropriate scheme, and developing portfolio preparation strategies. The Head of the Untar PKM Team was invited by the leader of LSPPRI to serve as a facilitator due to his competence and experience as an assessor in the field of public relations. One of the challenges faced by LSPPRI was finding experienced speakers for the workshop, as other assessors were unwilling to take on the role, except for the Head of the Untar PKM Team. Another issue was that many prospective participants lacked knowledge and experience regarding the PR competency test, thus requiring guidance during the workshop to increase their chances of obtaining a “Competent” (K) score from the assessors. The workshop was conducted online on August 22, 2025. The methodology applied in the PKM was qualitative, in which the PKM leader delivered the material using PowerPoint via Zoom, employing a symbolic interaction approach. After one hour of presentation, participants were given the opportunity to freely ask questions to the presenter. The prospective assessees who have attended the counseling sessions obtained a Competent score during the competency test. This demonstrates that the activities conducted by the PKM Untar Team were successful in delivering the quality information required by the community. Keywords: Untar, PKM, LSPPRI, PR, Humas ABSTRAK Program PKM (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) yang dilaksanakan oleh Tim Untar (Universitas Tarumanagara) di Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi Public Relations Indonesia (LSPPRI) bertujuan untuk memberikan penyuluhan kepada calon peserta uji kompetensi PR (Public Relations) terkait persiapan yang perlu dilakukan sebelum mengikuti uji kompetensi. PKM dengan tema ini penting untuk dilaksanakan sebagai bagian dari upaya membantu pemerintah dalam mendorong Masyarakat yang memiliki keterampilan bekerja untuk mendapatkan sertifikat profesi dari Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP). Kegiatan PKM Untar menjadi bagian penting mendorong para profesi humas memiliki sertifikat profesi Humas. Keberadaan PKM Untar memberikan kesempatan pada Masyarakat untuk mengetahui dan mengikuti program sertifikat profesi Humas. Para peserta workshop adalah personil humas dari salah satu Kementerian dan beberapa BUMN (Badan Usaha Milik Negara), yang mendaftarkan diri mereka untuk mengikuti uji kompetensi PR di LSPPRI. Sebagai LSP (Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi), LSPPRI mendapatkan ijin dari BNSP (Badan Nasional Sertifkasi Profesi) untuk menyelenggarakan uji kompetensi, membuat sertifikat profesi PR dan membuat materi uji kompetensi atas nama BNSP. Tim PKM Untar berperan memberikan edukasi terkait proses pelaksanaan uji kompetensi PR, menentukan skema yang tepat, dan strategi penyusunan portofolio. Ketua Tim PKM Untar mendapatkan undangan dari pimpinan dari LSPPRI untuk menjadi penyuluh karena memiliki kompetensi dan pengalaman sebagai asesor di bidang humas. Permasalahan LSPPRI adalah mencari pembicara yang berpengalaman dalam workshop karena asesor lain tidak bersedia untuk jadi pembicara, kecuali ketua tim PKM Untar. Permasalahan lainnya adalah para calon peserta tidak memiliki pengetahuan dan pengalaman dalam uji kompetensi PR sehingga mereka perlu dibimbing dalam workshop, agar mereka memiliki kesempatan yang besar dalam memperoleh nilai K (Kompeten) dari asesor. Pelaksanaan workshop dilakukan secara daring, pada tanggal 22 Agustus 2025. Metodologi pelaksanaan PKM adalah dengan pendekata kualitatif dimana ketua PKM menyampaikan materi menggunakan ppt melalui media zoom dengan pendekatan interaksi simbolik. Setelah satu jam presentasi, para peserta diberikan keleluasaan untuk bertanya kepada pemateri. Para calon asesi yang telah mengikuti penyuluhan mendapatkan nilai Kompeten saat mengikuti uji kompetensi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan Tim PKM Untar sukses dalam memberikan kualitas informasi yang di perlukan Masyarakat. Kata kunci: Untar, PKM, LSPPRI, PR, Humas

Abstract

The 2025 National Inter-Scout Unit Camp involved participants from various regions and required optimal health service support. Fatigue, minor injuries, common illnesses, and emergency medical conditions were the main challenges in large-scale outdoor activities. This community service aimed to provide basic medical services, first aid, and health education to camp participants through the establishment of a field health team. The activity was carried out on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025 from 07.30–14.00 WITA at Bongohulawa Camping Ground, Limboto. The implementation method was conducted through direct health services including registration, blood pressure and body temperature checks, doctor examination, and medicine administration according to participants’ needs. The health team consisted of lecturers and health workers from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The results showed that health services were carried out effectively, participants received quick access to basic medical services, and awareness of the importance of early health detection during camp activities increased. The presence of a field hospital also provided a sense of safety for participants and organizers. This activity proves that health team collaboration in field activities can improve the quality of community health services and support the overall success of national events.

Abstract

Jodipan Tourism Village in Malang City is one example of the successful transformation of a slum area into a thematic tourist destination with high visual appeal. Through its distinctive colorful concept, Jodipan has succeeded in attracting the attention of domestic and international tourists and has become an icon of creative tourism in Malang City. However, with the increasing number of similar tourist destinations, new challenges have emerged for Jodipan Village: maintaining its existence and positive image amidst increasingly competitive tourism competition. This condition demands a strengthened visual communication strategy that is more focused through the design of a visual identity that is able to represent local cultural values, unique character, and tourism potential of the area. This community service activity was carried out using qualitative methods that included direct observation, interviews with residents and tourism managers, and field research to understand the social, cultural, and visual context of Jodipan Village. The main objective of this activity was to design a visual identity system that would serve as an effective communication and promotional medium, both in print and digital media. This design is expected to strengthen the professional image of Jodipan Village as a creative, community-based tourism destination, while increasing its visual appeal for tourists. Through a participatory process, the Jodipan community was also encouraged to be actively involved in maintaining and developing the designed visual identity, thereby fostering a sense of ownership and pride in their tourism village. Thus, this activity not only contributes to increasing tourism appeal and the local economy but also strengthens the sustainability of community-based tourism thai is aligned with the objectives of the Sustainable Develompment Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. ABSTRAK Kampung Wisata Jodipan di Kota Malang merupakan salah satu contoh keberhasilan transformasi kawasan permukiman kumuh menjadi destinasi wisata tematik yang memiliki daya tarik visual tinggi. Melalui konsep warna-warni yang khas, Jodipan berhasil menarik perhatian wisatawan domestik maupun mancanegara dan menjadi ikon wisata kreatif Kota Malang. Namun, seiring meningkatnya jumlah destinasi wisata serupa, muncul tantangan baru bagi Kampung Jodipan untuk mempertahankan eksistensi dan citra positifnya di tengah persaingan pariwisata yang semakin kompetitif. Kondisi ini menuntut adanya penguatan strategi komunikasi visual yang lebih terarah melalui perancangan identitas visual yang mampu merepresentasikan nilai-nilai budaya lokal, karakter unik, serta potensi wisata yang dimiliki kawasan tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan metode kualitatif yang meliputi observasi langsung, wawancara dengan warga dan pengelola wisata, serta riset lapangan untuk memahami konteks sosial, budaya, dan visual Kampung Jodipan. Tujuan utama kegiatan ini adalah merancang sistem identitas visual yang berfungsi sebagai media komunikasi dan promosi yang efektif, baik pada media cetak maupun digital. Perancangan ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat citra profesional Kampung Jodipan sebagai destinasi wisata kreatif berbasis komunitas, sekaligus meningkatkan daya tarik visual bagi wisatawan. Melalui proses partisipatif, masyarakat Jodipan juga didorong untuk terlibat aktif dalam menjaga dan mengembangkan identitas visual yang telah dirancang, sehingga terbentuk rasa memiliki dan kebanggaan terhadap kampung wisata mereka. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini tidak hanya berkontribusi pada peningkatan daya tarik wisata dan ekonomi lokal, tetapi juga memperkuat keberlanjutan pariwisata berbasis pemberdayaan masyarakat yang selaras dengan tujuan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), khususnya SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
