Abstract

Biogeography is a branch of applied geography that studies about distribution of living organisms and their ecosystems in a biological community in a geographic area. Biogeography has an important role because it is connected to biological, agricultural and forestry sciences, such as understanding the evolutionary of organisms from geographic point of view, biodiversity conservation, environmental engineering and its application in the fields of agriculture and forestry. Geography is part of the social sciences. However, the subjects of social science taught in the Indonesian school curriculum are not comprehensive. In fact, the social science subject of geography is integrated with the concepts of social sciences, humanity, natural sciences, and even a combination of various issues. Thus, there is a possibility of a lack of competencies needed for students to advanced their studies. This activity was carried out through a offline seminar at SMA IT Nur Hidayah. The participants were students of class XII IPS total 83 students. As 96% of students were satisfied and responded well to this activity because they obtained new information that was not available during teaching and learning activities in high school in general. A total of 85% percent of students expressed the importance of study material.

Abstract

Usaha kecil dan menengah semakin berkembang seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi industri dan pariwisata di Lombok. Berdasarkan data dari Badan Pusat Statistik, kota Mataram menempati urutan pertama UMKM terbanyak di NTB dengan jumlah 22.473 per juli 2021. Permasalahan UMKM di kota Mataram masih terkendala pada permodalan, perizinan, bahan baku, pemasaran produk, pengelolaan keuangan dan inovasi. Temuan dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan oleh Tim Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Bumigora, dari total 100 UMKM yang telah disurvey menyatakan bahwa modal menjadi kendala terbesar dari para pelaku UMKM dalam mengembangkan bisnis dengan presentase 37%, pengelolaan keuangan 30%, promosi 17%, bahan baku 15%, dan lain-lain 11%. Berdasarkan dari data observasi maka diperlukan suatu tindakan utuk mengatasi permasalahan UMKM dan membantu mengembangkan usaha dari para pelaku UMKM yang di Kota Mataram. Tim Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Bumigora mencoba memfasilitasi para UMKM dalam menghadapi tantangan terutama yang berkaitan dengan pengelolaan keuangan dan promosi dengan melakukan pelatihan untuk para pelaku UMKM. Pelatihan UMKM dikemas dalam bentuk workshop yang disertai praktik dalam membuat laporan keuangan dan melakukan promosi secara digital sebagai tindak lanjut dari pelatihan ini.

Abstract

In Indonesia, addressing malnutrition, especially stunting, has become urgency. The Indonesian Child Nutrition Status Survey (SSGBI) in 2019 highlighted a surge in stunting prevalence to 27.67%. Siak Regency witnessed a concerning rise in stunting cases from 19% in 2021 to 22% in 2022. This project aims to tackle these issues through anemia screening and evaluating the nutritional status of pregnant women at Puskesmas Minas. Puskesmas Minas employs Anemia Screening to identify cases with Hb levels below 11 g/dl, a crucial indicator of pregnancy-related anemia. The method involves anemia screening by assessing Hemoglobin levels and nutritional assessment based on pre-pregnancy eating habits, Upper Arm Circumference (LILA) measurements, Hemoglobin tests, and ultrasound examinations. The method for implementing this study activity is in the form of discussions with cadres and then providing education regarding stunting to cadres. 1 case was found that required further treatment at an advanced health facility. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference in cadres' knowledge before and after education about anemia and nutritional screening for pregnant women.

Abstract

Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) are nutritious plants planted in yards and fields and managed by families. The types of plants grown fulfill the family's need for traditional medicines that can be made by themselves. The medicinal plants chosen are usually plants that can be used for first aid. The presence of medicinal plants in the home environment is very important, especially for families who do not have easy access to medical services such as clinics, health centers or hospitals. Each family can cultivate medicinal plants independently and use them so that the principle of independence in family medicine will be realized. The method used is counseling, distributing leaflets, asking questions and distributing questionnaires. The aim of the activity is to increase knowledge regarding herbal plants used for gastritis therapy, the importance of maintaining health as a prophylaxis, especially for gastritis which can cause other diseases and cultivating herbal plants. The results obtained were that the majority of respondents were 18 years old at 27.8%, the respondents' education was class After delivering the material the results showed that 90.28% knew TOGA. The usefulness of the activity for participants was 94.44%.

Abstract

The Nurul Iman Ta'lim Majlis congregation is a community that has positive activities in its daily life and also consists of various types of professions within it. Routine activities, including the promotion of halal literacy, are carried out every Friday night. The importance of socializing halal literacy is because several business actors on the MSME scale need to carry out self-declaration of halal certification, which the government has provided. Lack of literacy causes a lack of public access and knowledge, so direct outreach is needed from experts, namely the Center for Halal Studies (PSH). The method used was training and outreach related to halal literacy and obtaining halal certification, which was carried out in Gejikan village, Gagaksipat, Boyolali, on June 22 2023. The results of the service carried out by the Sharia Faculty team at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta were attended by 50 congregations who participated in the outreach and were enthusiastic about the material as evidenced by several questions. There are 5 out of 50 congregations own MSME products and join in the halal certification process through a self-declaration process accompanied by PSH. Knowledge and socialization are delivered well, increasing scientific abilities and practices related to halal.

Abstract

The existence of waste is a problem faced by society today, both in urban and coastal areas, where the largest source of waste comes from household activities in the form of organic waste. Batu Hijau Village, Bone Bolango Regency, is an area in Gorontalo Province which is located in a coastal area which is facing problems related to the presence of household waste which causes pollution to the environment, even though the organic waste can be used as a material that has useful value. One household waste that can be processed into useful products is stale rice. Through training programs to produce local microorganisms (MOL) in partnership with Dasawisma and Karang Taruna in Batu Hijau Village, stale rice waste can be converted into a bioactivator for making organic fertilizer, a plant growth stimulant, and a biological agent for controlling disease in cultivated plants so that the problem of the presence of organic waste polluting the environment can be addressed while also meeting the fertilizer needs of Karang Taruna and Dasawisma partners who carry out cultivation activities in their yards. The results of service program activities based on achievement indicators show that Dasawisma and Karang Taruna partners have increased their knowledge capacity, this can be seen from the partners' ability to adopt the technology for making MOL stale rice. The recommendation for this activity is education on making MOL not only from stale rice but also training regarding making MOL from other materials such as fruit waste and banana tubers

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada masyarakat mengangkat tema psikoedukasi tentang asesmen dan penanganan anak Autisme karena berdasarkan analisis masalah dan kebutuhan dari para staff dan terapis PLA Naimata. Tujuannya memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pada peserta agar mampu secara efisien dan optimal mengasesmen dan menangani anak Autisme dengan keunikan dan keberagamannya di Pusat Layanan Autis (PLA) Naimata. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang iterative terdiri atas tahap diagnose, lalu perencanaan aksi yang disusun berdasarkan identifikasi masalah dan kebutuhan. Penerapan aksi menggunakan metode ceramah, tanya-jawab, simulasi dan roleplay pada 14 peserta yang terdiri dari 4 terapis, 6 staff, dan 4 relawan yang bertugas di PLA Naimata. Berdasarkan metode pengukuran dan evaluasi secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif diperoleh hasil bahwa keseluruhan pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM dapat menjawab kebutuhan dari permasalahan peserta terapis dan staff non terapis di PLA Naimata, serta memberikan pemahaman terkait cara mengasesmen, dan menangani anak autis. Hasil rata-rata data kuantitatif pada sesi pertama berada pada kategori baik. Lalu mengalami kenaikan rata-rata jawaban pada sesi kedua dan ketiga yaitu pada kategori sangat baik. Data secara kualitatif berdasarkan observasi partisipan dan mood-meter peserta juga mendukung dan selaras dengan temuan data kuantitatif. Dari hasil tersebut, psikoedukasi tentang asesmen dan penanganan anak Autisme dapat direkomendasikan untuk digunakan secara luas oleh akademisi, praktisi, psikolog, konselor, dan pemerintah.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service project is to provide guidance to the teachers of SMAN 1 Pajangan in creating educational Kahoot games. Subject matter experts at the school participated in the program, which took place in August. Various types of educational games, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as recent research on the benefits of using educational games for learning, were covered in the introduction to this activity. Additionally, the main objective of this community service is to offer fresh insights to the teachers of SMAN 1 Pajangan on the advantages of Kahoot educational games, the features of the website, and how to create them. The method used in this community service involved three stages: the pre-activity stage, the activity implementation stage, and the post-activity stage. The outcome of this training is to make teachers more creative in developing teaching modules that will be delivered to students, thereby enhancing student learning outcomes, accelerating material comprehension, making learning more engaging and less monotonous, and increasing learning interest. The conclusion of this community service is that it equips teachers to utilize Kahoot as a learning medium. It is recommended for educators to develop their teaching processes by incorporating Kahoot as a medium.

Abstract

Social media has become an inseparable part of modern society, influencing various aspects of life, including people's attitudes and behavior regarding health. The research method used uses data collection techniques through in-depth interviews. Research subjects are individuals who actively use social media to obtain information about health. This research aims to explore in depth the impact of social media on people's attitudes and behavior regarding health. The research results show that social media has a complex impact on people's attitudes and behavior regarding health. On the one hand, social media can be a useful platform for increasing awareness, education and access to health information. On the other hand, social media can also be a source of false and misleading information, which can have negative consequences for an individual's mental and physical health. Through in-depth qualitative analysis, this research will try to understand how social media influences the way people view health, how information spread on social media influences their health decisions, and how social media literacy can moderate this influence.

Abstract

People with disabilities are a vulnerable group in society, especially women. The marginalization of people with disabilities makes it difficult for them to carry out economic activities to support their daily needs. In Bengkulu City, women with disabilities gather in the Association of Indonesian Women with Disabilities (HWDI). This organization functions to accommodate disabled women in Bengkulu City to become economically independent. Several types of businesses have been developed by this organization, but business development has not been able to improve members' welfare. Therefore, improving HWDI business management is important in supporting the inclusion and empowerment of women with disabilities. The method used in this activity is the counselling method. This activity aims to improve the skills and knowledge of HWDI members in managing their businesses effectively and sustainably. The results of the activity show that there is a change in mindset in running a business, there is an interest in improving business management and improving product packaging to make it more attractive and they are willing to try a different approach to marketing products.
