Abstract

The government has announced the transfer of the capital city from DKI Jakarta to the Archipelago Capital (IKN) in Kalimantan. The purpose of this research is to analyze development communication carried out by the government towards the development of IKN regarding environmental issues in an ethical perspective of development. Research using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. The research data used is secondary data from the results of the literature review. Research shows that there is community rejection based on environmental issues due to the government's lack of effective development communication.

Abstract

This research discusses the communication management carried out by the West Sumatra Komunikasi dan Informatika (Kominfo) Service in dealing with hoaxes on social media. The purpose of this research is to find out how communication management is carried out by the West Sumatra Kominfo Service in dealing with hoaxes on social media, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Panic and confusion of news regarding the news. One of the hoax news on social media regarding the Covid-19 pandemic is: The virus was spread due to a laboratory leak in Wuhan. The actions taken by the West Sumatra Communication and Informatics Service in Minimizing Hoax Information Always Continuing to Provide Information Using Various Media, Videotron, Providing Information About Awareness of the Dangers of Hoaxes and Controlling All Social Media and Websites Owned by the Institution, And Always Incessantly Carry Out Various Outreach, Seminars And Education To Communities In Several Regions About The Dangers Of Hoax And True Media Literacy. As well as holding educational talk shows about the dangers of hoax information on radio and TV stations which also collaborate with other government agencies so that the information conveyed is stronger and public confidence in the existence of hoax information is dangerous.

Abstract

This paper aims to map the use of the Image Restoration Discourse theory or approach to analyze crises both in organizations and individuals. Digital technology has a significant influence on the study of crisis communication, where internet-based communication platforms, such as social media, allow information to be widely disseminated, in real time interaction. On the one hand, digital technology is a solution to the crisis, but on the other hand it is a source of crisis. Using the literature review method, various previous research related to the theory, also known as Image Repair Theory, were collected, both classical and contemporary. In conclusion, Image Repair theory is relevant to be used as an analytical tool for various research units, including its relation to the use of digital technology.

Abstract

Riau Islands Province in 2019 occupies the second position as foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia. Based on statistical data, the Riau Islands Province also experienced an increase in visits by foreign and domestic tourists in 2015-2019. Based on this, it can be seen that the marketing communications have been successful. For this reason, this research was conducted with the aim of knowing and analyzing how marketing communications are carried out by the Tourism Office of the Riau Islands Province. This study used a qualitative method and the results were descriptive in nature by involving seven informants consisting of two main informants and five secondary informants. Collecting data in this study is using interview techniques, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that the Tourism Office of the Riau Archipelago Province conducts marketing communications in the form of advertising, personal selling, digital and social media marketing, sales promotion, public relations and publicity, events and experiences, as well as word of mouth both directly and digitally.

Abstract

Industry 4.0 has influenced the process of human communication from face-to-face to virtual. The communication process aligns with the Cyber-Physical System (CPS) concept. The CPS concept shows what is physically represented in cyberspace and vice versa. This has resulted in content production and distribution in the mass media adopting technological developments summarized in the CyberPhysical and Smart Factory systems. The adoption of technology that the mass media should carry out is a challenge for the sustainability of the media industry to carry out the function of the press. Thus, this article offers forms of technology adoption in the mass media using the literature review method in previous studies. The literature review results in this article offer technology adoption in the mass media from the perspective of industry 4.0. The form of technology adoption is the process of computational journalism as a production action based on Smart Factory. Furthermore, news automation is a production act and a CPS-based news distribution. This production and distribution process should involve the mass media workforce, which requires an approach to technology adoption by humans in the future mass media.

Abstract

The advance of communication technologies has evolved civic engagement in democratic countries. Social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram allow citizen to express their view freely and publicly. Citizens can easily communicate their views about the democratic process through social media. This study aims to assess online democratic engagement on Twitter in Indonesia regarding the policy to increase fuel prices in 2022. Computerized social network analysis is employed. NodeXL Pro is an open-source web scraping and visualization tool used to collect, process, and analyze Twitter data. The study finds that online civic engagement tends to be polarised in the network structure. Secondly, this study indicates that general public are important figure in the network. Meanwhile, the primary source of information discussed in the network is news media. Finally, this study demonstrates a link between online political discourse and traditional media coverage.

Abstract

Indonesia's inclusion in the prevalence of stunting by WHO poses an extraordinary threat to the future growth of the nation's children. The purpose of writing this article is to describe messages in risk communication that must be conveyed in disaster risk management efforts. Stunting can be categorized as a disaster, especially non-natural disasters because it has a psychological impact and is a threat to the growth of babies in Indonesia. This paper uses qualitative methods, to be a precise literature study in data collection. found that, In efforts to reduce disaster risk (DRR), three factors serve as a reference and must be studied to determine the stages of disaster management, namely threat, vulnerability, and capacity for stunting. This is the main message and communication of the risk of stunting in Indonesia.

Abstract

Today's modern technology allows audiences to reach information faster every day through various platforms, not even teenagers. The rapid development of the beauty product business has caused major changes in the market sector. Beauty products are not only about cosmetics but also include body care products. Various brands emerged because the appearance of women is often associated with aesthetic value, one of which is Scarlett Whitening. Scarlett made various efforts to carry out marketing strategies to attract consumers' buying interest. Scarlett Whitening cooperates with a number of public figures such as influencers to several Korean celebrities. With persuasive language and content, content that often appears on social media can influence the mindset of young girls that beautiful people are those with white skin. The results of this study show that social media is a platform that has the power to market lotion products to consumers and brand image. Celebrities in their presence on social media have contributed to endorsing scarlet whitening products. There are three interesting agendas from the results of this Bibliometric study, namely the representation of white supremacists, exposure to advertising, and adolescent acceptance of scarlet whitening information.

Abstract

Tourism villages are one of the government's ways to overcome poverty in remote areas in Indonesia. Tourism villages are also able to develop the potential that exists in the area. The Kubu Gadang Tourism Village tourism awareness group also participated in the tourism village concept. The tourism awareness group feels compelled to develop Kubu Gadang Village. This study aims to determine the communication management of tourism awareness groups in developing the Kubu Gadang Tourism Village in Padang Panjang City. The theory used in this study is Michael Kaye's communication management theory, and the method used is qualitative. Data collection techniques using indepth interviews and direct observation. The results showed that the management of interpersonal communication at the Pokdarwis of the Kubu Gadang Tourism Village was well implemented, as seen from the form of support given to the Kubu Gadang Tourism Village.

Abstract

In this article, we will discuss the effect of digitalization on the interaction process between JKT48 and fans. The transition of media from conventional to digital began with the new face of the world and a renewal called digitalization. The resulting influence is felt not only by the industrial sector but also by the communications sector. If communication is usually done face-to-face, then with technological sophistication, people can easily interact with others using only digital devices. This has also affected people's consumption patterns as a result of the ease of access to digital products. Based on this phenomenon, business operators are required to be able to innovate so that they do not go into bankruptcy. One of them can be seen in music industry actors, namely JKT48. The idol group innovated by creating a system called Idols You Can Meet." The intertwined closeness prompted the emergence of feelings as if fans knew the idolized artist personally. This kind of phenomenon is called social interaction. To review these interaction patterns, this study used a qualitative approach with library research data collection techniques and was accompanied by analytical descriptive data analysis. Meanwhile, the result itself is an analysis of the concept of JKT48 idols in Indonesia and the social interaction between fans and JKT48 idols.
