Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in developing high-quality and sustainable communities, with reading as a fundamental foundation in the educational process. Reading skills provide access to knowledge and foster deep understanding, critical thinking, and personal development. In Kampung Situpete Sukadamai Tanah Sareal Bogor, the primary challenges include low children's reading interest, limited access to books, and a lack of awareness about the importance of reading. To address these challenges, this community service project aims to establish a Children's Reading Garden (TBA) in Kampung Situpete. This initiative is designed to enhance children's reading interest, improve the reading culture, and support education by providing quality books and supporting programs such as reading clubs, book performances, and creativity classes. Community involvement, including parents and local leaders, is encouraged through workshops and volunteer participation. The method employed is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which focuses on empowering the community and involving them in the change process. The project, running from June to August 2024, includes ongoing monitoring and evaluation to ensure the effectiveness of the TBA. The initiative is expected to significantly contribute to advancing education and strengthening the reading culture within the Kampung Situpete community.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe the chronology of the distribution of obligatory wills for adopted children in decision no. 5203/Pdt.G/2019/PA.Tgrs, Decision no. 1277/Pdt.G/2016/PA.Tng and Decision no. 1926/Pdt.G/2020/PA.JU as well as the judge's considerations in determining the adopted child's share of the three decisions. The type of research used is qualitative, namely collecting data with the aim of interpreting the phenomena that occur using a normative juridical analysis approach, through studying the decisions of the Religious Courts regarding cases of obligatory wills for adopted children with data sources in the form of research libraries, court decisions, statutory regulations, and books and interviews with the judge who decided the case. The results of the research show that there are differences in the share of adopted children from the inheritance of their adoptive parents. The difference occurs because the heirs left behind are different, such as husband and biological father, so that adopted children get 1/6 of the share, while replacement heirs get 2/3 jointly, and 1/10 when the heirs are siblings. These three decisions can be included in the concept of Islamic justice. It means giving something that is rightfully yours in a balanced manner. Balanced means that everything that exists is accepted at the proper level and not at the same level. However, one large part and one small part can be determined by the expected function.

Abstract

Vegetable consumption in Indonesia is still low, reaching only 173 grams per day, far from the WHO recommendation of 400 grams. To address this problem, a community service program in RW 18 Karadenan, Bogor, applies hydroponic technology for housewives and single parent mothers. This program includes socialization and training on hydroponic techniques, including the Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) and Deep Flow Technique (DFT) systems, as well as the use of used containers. The training also includes organic vegetable marketing strategies and financial management using the full costing method to determine the cost of goods sold. Continuous mentoring and periodic evaluations are carried out to ensure the effectiveness of the technology and maximize harvest yields. This program aims to improve participants' farming skills, support family food security, and encourage economic independence. By implementing hydroponics, this program is expected to meet vegetable needs, increase family income and provide efficient farming solutions, and has the potential to be expanded to other areas.

Abstract

The Human Development Index can be used as an indicator of successful development in a country or region. In 2023, the lowest Human Development Index in North Sumatra Province was in the Nias Islands, namely West Nias Regency (63.70), South Nias Regency (64.13), Nias Regency (64.56), and North Nias Regency (64.64). Only Gunungsitoli City ranks in the lowest 10 out of 33 regencies/cities with an index of 70.68. This study aims to determine whether Poverty, Education Expenditure, and Village Funds have an impact on the Human Development Index in the Nias Islands. The results showed that partially Poverty has a negative and significant impact, Education Expenditure has a positive but insignificant impact, and Village Funds have a positive and significant impact on the Human Development Index in the Nias Islands. Poverty, education expenditure, and village funds simultaneously have a significant impact on the Human Development Index. Poverty, education expenditure, and village funds can explain the Human Development Index by 93.766%. The remaining 6.234% is accompanied by other variables that are not included in the object of this study. Therefore, the Government should create programs for poverty alleviation and optimize Education Expenditure and Village Funds to increase the Human Development Index in the Nias Islands.
