Jurnal Shanan bertujuan untuk menerbitkan hasil penelitian dosen-dosen dan para alumni Prodi Magister Pendidikan Agama Kristen serta para pendidik agama di luar UKI. Jurnal Shanan pertama kali diterbitkan pada bulan Maret 2017 melalui penerbit UKI Press dengan nomor ISSN 2549-8061. Jurnal ini dikelola oleh Program Studi Magister Pendidikan Agama Kristen UKI yang dimaksudkan untuk mempublikasikan karya-karya penelitian dosen, alumni, dan para pendidik agama Kristen di luar UKI. Jurnal ini memuat artikel-artikel penelitian yang berfokus pada pengembangan ilmu dan praktik pendidikan agama Kristen di lingkup gereja, keluarga, dan sekolah. Jurnal Shanan ditebitkan secara berkala dua kali dalam setahun, yaitu Maret dan Oktober. Fokus jurnal Shanan adalah Pendidikan Agama Kristen sedangkan cakupannya adalah Desain Program, Strategi Pembelajaran dan Kurikulum, Sejarah dan Filsafat, Teologi, Metodologi Pendidikan, Pendidikan dalam Masyarakat Majemuk, Evaluasi Pendidikan, Psikologi Pendidikan, Etika Profesi Guru, yang semuanya terkait dengan Pendidikan Agama Kristen.

Abstract

Religious conversion is a phenomenon that often occurs today. It is where people move from old religions and beliefs to a new religions and beliefs. This can happen because of a matter of faith, marriage, following parents, and so on. This religious conversion also often occurs within the GMIT community. GMIT as a church that is called to reveal light in the world needs to realize one of its missions, namely teaching. The purpose of this writing is to design a Christian Religious Education curriculum for catechism class members of the GMIT congregation after religious conversion. The research method used in this paper is descriptive qualitative. The curriculum design that was contributed could be used as a reference in learning that is more effective, efficient and maximal. The results of this study indicate that the design of the Christian Religious Education’s curriculum donated can be utilized in catechism classes for post religious conversion of GMIT congregation members, and fulfil church duties and services in the realm of teaching.

Abstract

Technology has an important role in the learning process because it can make learning activities more effective and meaningful. Christian religious education is expected to be able to provide learning that can be felt pleasant by students. Therefore, Christian religious education must adjust in terms of methods and means in providing learning in the current technological era. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The purpose of this writing is to obtain information about the experience of using the Quizizz application in learning Christian religious education in the church. The research subjects were GKKD Jakarta youth. The results of the study show that Quizizz technology is the choice of learning media for Christian religious education because the Quizizz application can be used in learning Christian religious education in youth because it is easily accessible, makes the learning atmosphere fun, youth is enthusiastic about taking quizzes, can pay attention to lessons, review material that has been studied.

Abstract

Ecological issues are one of the struggles that people around the world are experiencing. Ecological problems that continue to occur are also one of the struggles of the people of Toraja, South Sulawesi. This study aims to explore the local wisdom of the Toraja people through the Tallu Lolona philosophy in encounters with Christianity. This research utilizes literature studies on a number of literature related to ecological issues both from the perspective of Toraja culture and Christian religious values. The results of the study show that the encounter between tallu lolona's philosophy and Christian faith can become a reciprocal critical dialogue in efforts to prevent as well as overcome the ecological crisis that occurred in Toraja. The encounter between the two shows that each contributes to efforts to create peace and the integrity of creation.

Abstract

The digital era and the Covid-19 pandemic are a challenge for adults. If they adjust wrongly to it, then it will affect all aspects of their lives. The church needs to serve them by implementing Christian religious education. However, Christian religious education must be delivered with the proper learning methods. Church educators must use the learning methods in responding to the challenges and needs of adults. The purpose of this study is to give ideas about the learning methods for adults. The type of research used is qualitative research that uses a library research approach. The result of the research is teachers in the churches can use the Forum Discussion Group (FGD), Problem-Solving, Collaborative Learning, and training to support adults in the digital era and Pandemic Covid 19.

Abstract

The independent learning curriculum is the government's effort to advance education in Indonesia. One of the approaches in order to realize independent learning is the differentiated learning approach. Differentiated learning is one of the approaches that can be implemented by teachers to meet the needs of students according to their readiness, interests and learning profiles. However, differentiated learning is still rarely done due to teachers' lack of understanding in designing learning. This is because this curriculum is a newly implemented curriculum and not all education units have fully implemented it. The purpose of this study is to assist teachers in implementing learning in the classroom based on needs and applying differentiated learning strategies, namely content, process, and product so that together they can achieve educational goals. The research was conducted at SMPN 240 Jakarta from January to March 2023 using qualitative research methods with a descriptive analysis approach. The participants in this research are teachers and students. The focus of the research is to explain the stages of differentiated learning in Christian Religious Education subjects with the material of the Bible as the guide of my life. The results of this study show that differentiated learning has a positive impact on students and can help teachers to be able to fulfill their duties and responsibilities through the stages of preparing initial mapping with diagnostic assessments, compiling learning modules, and implementing learning.

Abstract

Today there is a leadership crisis, especially in Christian institutions. For example, the process of selecting church leaders or synods cannot be separated from elements of Corruption, Collusion and Nepotism (KKN). This shows that Christian leadership is experiencing moral and faith degradation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide an overview of transforming generations of Christian leaders who are in accordance with the teachings of the Bible, based on James W. Fowler's 6 stages of faith development theory. For this reason, this research uses descriptive qualitative research with a literature approach. The results obtained include: First, at the age of 0-6 years, growing children's confidence and self-confidence. Second, at the age of 6-12 years, set an example regarding the morals and integrity of leadership. Third, At the age of 12-18 years, take care of the children's association and environment. Fourth, at the age of 18-25 years, provide religious teachers who can become role models in leadership. Fifth, at the age of 25-40 years, form an open point of view. Sixth, At the age of 40 and above, adjust to the views of others and see the truth from many points of view. With this in mind, cases that often occur in the Christian leadership environment will be minimized.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan sebagai jawaban terhadap permasalahan rendahnya kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia dengan melaksanakan pengembangan pembelajaran yang lebih melibatkan keaktifan dan kemandirian peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan media dengan mengikuti langkah-langkah model ADDIE. Pengembangan media pembelajaran yang memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi internet merupakan pembelajaran yang berkualitas karena proses pembelajaran memotivasi siswa untuk terlibat secara aktif dan kreatif dalam pembelajaran. Setelah capaian hasil validasi ahli materi sebesar 94 % dan ahli media sebesar 96 %, media dan materi pembelajaran diujicoba dalam kelompok kecil mahasiswa untuk mendapatkan respon tentang materi dan media pembelajaran. Setelah respon positif kelompok kecil mahasiswa terhadap media yang mencapai persentasi 92% diperoleh maka media pembelajaran diimplementasikan ke dalam kelompok besar atau ke seluruh mahasiswa pengontrak mata kuliah Tafsir Perjanjian Lama. Evaluasi terhadap efektifitas media setelah implementasi diperoleh dengan keberhasilan seluruh mahasiswa mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan dosen secara mandiri, aktif dan kreatif. Seluruh tugas yang telah dikerjakan dalam bentuk E-Book dikumpulkan dalam satu perpustakaan yang ada dalam media aplikasi Book Creator. Dengan capaian pembelajaran di atas maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran virtual dengan aplikasi Book Creator pada mata kuliah Tafsir Perjanjian Lama merupakan media pembelajaran yang valid, praktis dan efektif.

Abstract

Tradisi tu’u pendidikan penting bagi masyarakat Rote bukan hanya sebagai alat bantu pembiayaan pendidikan anak, tetapi sebagai bentuk solidaritas, bentuk persaudaraan dan sebagai media pemersatu masyarakat Rote. Namun, seiring berjalannya waktu tradisi Tu’u pendidikan mulai berkurang bahkan diabaikan dengan berbagai alasan. Salah satunya, lebih mementingkan tradisi Tu’u Belis, sehingga pendidikan diabaikan. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah menganalisis konsep pendidikan menurut perspektif Paulo Freire tentang cara berpikir Kritis, kesadaran kritis dan pentingnya pendidikan serta urgensinya bagi keberlangsungan pendidikan masyarakat Rote. Freire menjelaskan bahwa pendidikan memainkan peran penting dalam proses pembebasan manusia dan pendidikan harus menjadi alat untuk mengatasi ketidakadilan sosial, kemiskinan, dan penindasan. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi pustaka dan pengamat secara langsung di mana peneliti merupakan bagian dari masyarakat Rote di dukung oleh sumber sekunder seperti buku, jurnal dan media online yang bisa dipertanggungjawabkan secara akademis. Dalam Kajian ini, peneliti menemukan bahwa konsep Paulo Freire dapat diimplementasikan terhadap masyarakat Rote, karena membuka kerangka berpikir masyarakat Rote tentang pentingnya pendidikan melalui berpikir kritis dan kesadaran kritis, sehingga terbebas dari ketertindasan realitasnya.

Abstract

Banyak remaja yang kurang berminat untuk mengikuti pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen di gereja karena pembelajaran yang kurang relevan. Akibatnya remaja terpengaruh dalam pergaulan yang salah. Banyak yang terlibat dalam aktivitas-aktivitas yang cenderung merugikan diri sendiri bahkan orang lain di sekitar remaja. Remaja sering berkumpul dan melakukan aktivitas seperti merokok bahkan sampai pada meminum minuman keras, bahkan ada remaja yang mulai menggunakan obat-obatan terlarang. Masalah ini perlu direspon dengan melaksanakan Pendidikan Agama Kristen bagi remaja dengan pendekatan yang sesuai dengan usia dan kebutuhan mereka. Pendekatan yang diajukan dalam artikel ini adalah Subject Centered Design. Pendekatan ini memungkinkan remaja berpartisipasi aktif mengikuti pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen di gereja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan desain pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen bagi remaja usia 12-16 tahun menggunakan Subject Centered Learning. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini adalah suatu desain pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen remaja usia 12-16 tahun yang menggunakan Subject Centered Design untuk meningkatkan minat dan motivasi remaja untuk mengikuti pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen. Remaja terlibat secara aktif dan kritis dalam mengikuti pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen.

Abstract

Merdeka Curriculum for the academic year 2022-2024 has been issued by the Indonesian government to overcome the learning loss at schools due to Pandemic-Covid 19. There are some challenges in the implementation, one of which is teachers’ lack of understanding of the meaning and purpose of the Merdeka curriculum. It causes students’ boredom with learning in the classroom. Therefore, the research, which applies the qualitative approach with case study procedures, aims to offer interactive teaching as a solution to apply the Merdeka curriculum after analyzing its implementation. The result is Merdeka Curriculum gives freedom to the students in learning. In running the curriculum, Christian teachers base their philosophy on the Bible. Christian teaching will bring the students to experience life transformation. Therefore, interactive teaching is chosen to be implemented, because it gives freedom to teachers to design the learning based on the Biblical Christian Worldview and to students to learn in the Shalom class community. In conclusion, teaching learning that is done biblically will facilitate students’ transformation. For future researchers, they can research on how Christian teachers respond to the Merdeka Curriculum based on their school contexts and ground their teaching on the Bible to facilitate students’ life transformation.
