The speech community and the way of speech in which communication is arranged and patterned within it are the main subjects of ethnography of communication. The study aims to analyze business motivators’ speaking factors. SPEAKING involves a variety of factors; including setting, participants, end, act of sequences, key, instrumentality, norm of interaction, and genre. Additionally, this study aims to identify how business motivators or leaders might motivate consultants to manage the firm successfully. Although the consultants are from varied social background, occupations, and ages, they could communicate and work together. In collecting data, the researcher uses some instruments of data collection. They are (1) the sequences of events observation during the seminar, (2) recording the sequences of Seminar event by using video- tape in order to get reliable and accurate data, (3) taking deep interview of seminar participants or members, (4) taking questionnaires to find out participants’ experience during the seminar. In analyzing data, the researcher conducts descriptive analysis through approaching SPEAKING factors (Hymes) in the ethnography of communication. This research uses method of qualitative descriptive analysis. It is used to analyze and describe the event of SPEAKING factors.

Abstract

The family environment greatly influences students' success in achieving good learning outcomes. This is reinforced by the theory in Djaali's book; Family situations (father, mother, siblings, younger siblings, older siblings, and extended family) have a significant impact on a child's success within the family. Parental education, economic status, home environment, the percentage of parental relationships, words, and parental guidance all influence a child's learning achievements. This study aims to determine the influence of the family environment on student learning outcomes in the Social Studies subject for fourth-grade students at SDN 38 Ampenan. This research falls under the category of population research and is Expost Facto in nature. The study was conducted at SDN 38 Ampenan in fourth-grade classes, consisting of parallel classes IV/A and IV/B, during the academic year 2022/2023. The data collection instrument used was a family environment questionnaire and data on student test scores in the Social Studies subject. The family environment indicators used include parenting styles, family member relationships, home atmosphere, family economic conditions, and parental understanding. The data analysis techniques employed include descriptive statistical tests, tests for homogeneity, normality, and hypothesis testing. Hypothesis testing uses simple linear regression. The research results show that the significance value obtained is less than 0.005, and the calculated t-value is greater than the tabulated t-value. This indicates that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, suggesting a significant influence of the family environment on student learning outcomes in the Social Studies subject at SDN 38 Ampenan.

Abstract

Character education is an effort to balance the widespread effects of globalization. Globalization has reached every segment of society, including elementary school-aged children. There are both positive and negative impacts resulting from the prevalence of globalization. The issue at hand is the negative impact itself, and children are particularly vulnerable to these negative effects, as they are not yet capable of filtering or distinguishing between what is good and what is harmful. The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of three character values through analysis of planning, teaching execution, and learning evaluation. Additionally, the study seeks to identify the supporting and hindering factors in implementing these three character values in the fourth-grade class at SDN Tiwu Asem. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with informants. Data collection techniques also include field observations and documentation. Data validity is ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and theoretical triangulation. Data analysis is carried out by collecting, reducing, presenting, and drawing conclusions from the data. The research findings indicate that the implementation of character values at SDN Tiwu Asem has been integrated into the teaching process through planning, execution, evaluation, and practical application. Supporting factors include the inclusion of character education in the curriculum and dedicated teachers who drive the implementation of character values. On the other hand, inhibiting factors include a lack of teacher understanding, student behavior, teaching execution, and the underdevelopment of a school culture to support character education.

Abstract

Based on the observation results at SDN 36 Mataram, several weaknesses were identified within the learning process. These include an emphasis on completing lesson materials rather than fostering understanding and meaningfulness of the subjects for students. Many students still engage in play during lessons, and a significant number of them hesitate to express their opinions due to a lack of confidence. The purpose of this research is to ascertain the development procedure of picture storybooks based on a scientific approach for fifth-grade Science lessons. This study falls under the category of research and development. It was conducted at SDN 36 Mataram, specifically in the fifth-grade classrooms. The research took place during the first semester of the 2023 academic year. The population of this study comprised all fifth-grade students at SDN 36 Mataram, while the sample included six students randomly selected from the fifth-grade class. This research employed the 4D model (define, design, development, and dissemination), focusing exclusively on the development phase with a sample of six participants (limited trial). The decision to choose six students as participants was based on specific reasons. Data collection techniques used in this study encompassed observation, documentation, and questionnaires. Both qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques were applied. This study involves the development of picture storybooks based on a scientific approach for fifth-grade students. The development of the scientific-based picture storybook follows the 4D development design, involving the phases of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating.
