Abstract

Today's technological developments have provided effortless access for the current generation of Generation Z to get the information they need. However, the problem occurs when Generation Z misreads information, one which is information related to the doctrines of the Christian faith. This condition challenges teachers to make Z able to fill the social media space with the correct teachings. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate theological thoughts that are indeed following the development of today's social media. Through an integrative study approach between theology and social media and phenomenological studies related to the problems that arise. So this research produces a combination of theology and social media that contributes to social media content filled with true theology and theology that is open in general because social media bridge it. This research contributes so that Generation Z is not trapped in wrong doctrines in social media.

Abstract

Textual criticism has long existed as part of the hermeneutic discipline. However, many communities reject this approach. Even scientifically, textual criticism provides a new understanding of the scriptures, especially the New Testament. The many variants of the Greek New Testament make textual criticism present to reconstruct the original text of the Greek New Testament. Nevertheless, on the other hand, this scientific development deals with the doctrine of the inerrancy of the Bible. This study attempts to present the logical foundations of the urgency of textual criticism related to the doctrine of the inerrancy of the Bible. This study examines the importance of textual criticism of the inerrancy of the Bible. The approach used is exploratory qualitative. The results showed that the hermeneutic method of textual criticism did not weaken the truth of the Bible. The inerrancy of the Bible is maintained when an interpreter uses this method. The meaning of the text is more understandable and far from error because of the approach to the highlighted New Testament Greek.

Abstract

The issue of Gender does not yet have a common ground. Women are always considered weak and helpless human beings. However, in some ethnic groups in Indonesia, the opposite is true. Men are deemed to have no value to women. This study aims to examine the concept of gender equality from a biblical perspective. As the primary source of teaching authority, the Bible provides a solid picture of gender equality. The research method used is exploratory qualitative. The results of the study state that the Bible consistently discusses the principle of gender equality. Because gender equality is essential, many activists voice this principle in the struggle for human rights. Therefore, viewing humans as the noblest created beings is the basis for this struggle for gender equality. Thus, opportunities and responsibilities in all aspects of life own by all humans and created by God.

Abstract

This article proposes a theological construction of Jesus’ ethical attitude towards divorce. The conflict between the socio-political practice that legalizes divorce and the narrative of religious rhetoric against divorce is the cause of many divorces in Christian families. An understanding of the ethical morality of Christians towards divorce shows that there is an excessive adherence to the biblical text without considering the context. I use hermeneutic principles through the dialectic of the text and the context of the Gospel of Matthew 19:1-9 as the method used by Jesus to understand the reality of the Torah text. This effort aims to assist Pastors in pastoral care when accompanying families who are about to divorce. This article uses a literature research method with a text centred (synchronic) approach and a qualitative method to examine the results of field research. The results showed that the text of Matthew 19:1-9 was about to criticize the attitude of Pharisees who wanted to trap Jesus through the question of divorce. It turns out that Jesus has His own Halakhah, that is, forgiveness to avoid divorce.

Abstract

The main problems of writing this article are; first, some couples want to marry for the second time but do not show legal evidence of divorce from the first marriage. Second, they are not preparing for a second marriage through premarital counseling. Third, they are dishonest and open to the failure of the first marriage, so they choose to marry secretly, and certain pastors or churches can accept this. The author would like to explain the pastoral strategy a church pastor carried out in preparing for a second marriage so that it can be accepted in terms of Christian faith, law and culture. The research method used is qualitative research. So it can be concluded that there needs to be a strategy carried out by a pastor in carrying out pastoral care for second marriages so that marriages that will run for a lifetime or are expected to avoid divorce again are guided by a pastoral approach to second marriages. This is necessary to reflect to the world that the church or His people are salt and light so that the name of Jesus Christ is glorified.

Abstract

In ancient near eastern times, the phenomenon of status differences or degrees between men and women was considered normal. Even at the time of Jesus, this phenomenon was still powerful. In the religious community, this difference can still be seen by referring to one of the texts of 1 Corinthians 11:7-12. In the text, it can be seen that there is an emphasis on the different positions of men and women who are considered wildly different when they enter into a fellowship. However, theologically all humans are equal before God. Can it be said that it is just and right if this phenomenon continues to be maintained without a more robust and biblical reason? For a reason, analysis verses 7-12, the meaning of the text and context does not emphasize the differences in the degrees of men and women. Instead, it emphasizes the equality of status in the sight of God. Even if women had to cover their heads when entering the worship room at the time, that only referred to the customs or culture of that era which emphasized the element of politeness in the community so that women would not become a stumbling block in the fellowship.

Abstract

The understanding of human origins according to philosophical anthropology greatly elevates humans to become equal or even higher than God. On the other hand, there is also a view that tends to reduce the position of humans to be equal like the concept of Homo Sapiens, or lower with other creations which is certainly contrary to the text of the Bible. And ironically, today there are some Christians who are confused about the purpose of God's creation in His Image and Likeness. This study uses a qualitative method with literature study as a data collection technique that is correlated with observation and theological interpretation. Therefore, it is emphasized that humans are creatures created by God in His Image and likeness as men and women who are commensurate with representing themselves as micro theos and microcosms because they are endowed with a unique potential to realize the imperative cultural mandate, namely “to multiply, to multiply. and fill the earth and rule over it according to God's purpose according to Genesis 1:26-28.”

Abstract

Abstract

The mind, which is unique to man, is inseparable from sin after the fall into sin. Empiricists who always take the experience as the measure of human life reject this impact with the view that, although humans are mortal, humans are morally neutral. The impact of sin on the mind is that man cannot find the truth with his reason, but he always fails to do so. The death of the human spirit causes horrors that are incredibly disgusting and grieve the heart of God. However, worldly man does not care about all that but is proud of the sins and injustices he has committed. The discussion on this topic is presented descriptively based on theological arguments according to the views of several experts summarised in a prescriptive presentation. As a result, sin has made all aspects of human life experience terrible things. Three aspects are affected by the sinful mind, namely, "man no longer recognizes his existence as a creature of God (Spiritual Aspect), Man becomes a crisis of goodness and is unlikely to seek God (Moral Aspect), and man is younger to misunderstand, faster to judge and prefers to be alone than to associate with others (social aspect).
