Jurnal Scripta merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Sekolah Tinggi Theologia Ebenhaezer, dan sebagai sarana publikasi hasil penelitian serta sharing perkembangan ilmu teologi Kristen dan pelayanan kontekstual. Jurnal ini memuat artikel yang belum pernah dipublikasikan sebelumnya yang berupa artikel hasil penelitian ataupun penelitian terapan, serta artikel telaah yang berkaitan dengan perkembangan ilmu teologi berdasarkan isu-isu terkini. Informasi mengenai pedoman penulisan artikel dan prosedur pengiriman artikel terdapat pada setiap penerbitan. Semua artikel yang masuk akan melalui ‘peer-review process’ setelah memenuhi persyaratan sesuai pedoman penulisan artikel. Penerbitan jurnal ini dilakukan sebanyak enam bulan sekali yaitu pada bulan Mei dan November setiap tahunnya.

Abstract

The problem studied in this article relates to the challenges and needs of Christ's workers to reap the yellowing fields. Remembering that the world as a field belonging to God is always short of workers. The response of church members to the challenges and needs allows the field to be reaped. The purpose of this article is to discuss the role of Christ workers in carrying out the Great Commission. The method used in this article is the hermeneutic method. The results show that the Christ worker is someone who surrenders and is actively involved in preaching the Gospel. Practically, he preaches the gospel, guides the people he serves to grow spiritually. In this case he is also known as a person who trains others to do the same task in carrying out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the occurrence of violations and deviations from the prophetic voice of Amos, which have massively occurred in the fields of law, society, and spirituality. The law is twisted, blunt on top, and sharp on the bottom because the judicial system, as a place to seek justice, is not functioning properly and corruption is rampant, disregarding the poor and treating humans as worthless shoes. The priests choose wealth, positions, and compromise with sin. This happens due to an unclear calling that the LORD is summoning, where the Bible no longer serves as a benchmark for sermons, replaced by pleasing speeches for the listeners and compromising with sin. Through qualitative research methods and literature review in the book of Amos, as well as interviews, the results of the analysis indicate that the prophetic voice in the book of Amos produces a firm, uncompromising attitude, and courageously confronts challenges in proclaiming the prophetic voice, all of which serve as guidance for preachers in the era of Industry 5.0.

Abstract

Since its formation, the GMIT Galed Kelapa Lima Congregation has still faced problems of social morality in Kelapa Lima Village, Kupang City. The problem of morality has not diminished, but has become more prevalent nowadays due to the existence of traditional massage service places and bars at the Sasando Hotel and Citra Hotel around Galed residents, thus providing onsite and online access for covert prostitution services. This article aims to explore past tensions that have an impact on the present, by exploring the role of GMIT Galed Kelapa Lima in historical and contemporary contexts. This article uses a qualitative method with a Church History approach. Data collection techniques used, namely field research and literature review. The results of the research show that all this time the Galed church has focused on internal consolidation and set aside these issues. Therefore, I offer a holistic service model to answer the problem of social morality, namely: First, the importance of sex education in the family, educational institutions and the church. Second, develop the Galed ministry which focuses on Transformative Diakonia. Third, service management approach through SWOT analysis. Fourth, the Galed Church is partnering with the Kupang City Government to develop a shared vision for preventing covert prostitution.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand the meaning of fear of God in the text of Proverbs 1-9. Because the phrase "fear of God" often shows a gap in interpretation as an action-consequence relationship and re-interpretation in the orientation of obedience to wise qualities. This study uses a qualitative approach using the hermeneutic method of the wisdom genre, in particular paying attention coherently to the thematic phrase "fear of the Lord" in Proverbs 1-9. Thematic analysis of the relation of wisdom literature pays attention to translational or literal analysis, context, theological and especially the structure of antithetical parallelism, as well as the character-consequence pattern of the fool and the wise man. The result of this study is that the phrase "fear of God" describes a rebuke and rejection of wisdom which has bad consequences for a person. However, the peculiarity of wisdom in the phrase "fear of the Lord" provides a coherent orientation between knowledge and knowledge of God. It can be concluded that the basis of wisdom, namely "fearing the Lord" provides an understanding for wise and stupid people. The uniqueness of this interpretation is caused by the peculiarity of the pattern of words that are retribution (cause and effect) in the book of Proverbs 1-9. Not surprisingly, the meaning of the phrase "fear of God" emphasizes character/habits and the impact of true wisdom.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe and analyze the notion of diversity in existentialism that appears in existentialist thinkers namely Soren Kierkegaard, Jean Paul Sartre, and Paul Tillich who have their own characteristics in their thinking. The theme of Existentialism has been discussed throughout history because it focuses on human concerns. A qualitative method with a content analysis approach is used to discuss and analyze existentialism philosophically and theologically. Based on the analysis, existentialism refers to humans as conscious subjects but can be viewed differently by thinkers. Kierkegaard’s theistic existensialism with the concept of leap of faith where humans are fully conscious can relate personally with God. Sartre's existentialism is atheistic, rejecting the existence of God and emphasizing human subjects who determine their own lives, taking responsibility for themselves. Tillich who uses the theme of existentialism in his method of correlation to connect God's Word to modern people with their existential awareness. Existentialism is very anthropocentric and does not emphasize Theocentric in human live.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to analyze sequnyeng as a form of cross-cultural communication from the perspective of Acts 4:32-37. The writing method used is a qualitative method with a literature study approach to find data about the culture of the Oma Lung Dayak tribe. Methods The hermeneutic approach is used to investigate, study and discuss the text of Acts 4:32-37 carefully with the aim of finding the meaning contained in the text. The conclusion of "sequnyeng as a form of cross-cultural communication in the perspective of Acts 4:32-37" in theoretical implications is First, sequnyeng is a mutual cooperation activity carried out by the Oma Lung Dayak people when they do heavy work. In these activities the community builds cross-cultural communication verbally and non-verbally through togetherness and sharing. Second, the early church in Acts 4:32-37 were people who believed in Jesus, they had a lifestyle of fellowship in love. The fellowship is a manifestation of togetherness where they always live by prioritizing others besides that they share by witnessing and telling about their experiences of faith in Jesus and encouraging one another, affirming one another and praying for one another.

Abstract

The purpose of this journal is to apply the principles of fostering church members through the teaching model of partners in learning where coaches and congregations emphasize the importance of relationships to build trust between the two parties. As was done by the Lord Jesus Himself in His ministry, namely building relationships with the people He served, this partner in learning model also applies the importance of acceptance and appreciation between personal mentors and the congregation. Some of the impacts of the partners in Learning model: (1) Involvement means increasing the partnership between tutors and students, (2) Awareness. This model helps mentors and students to develop metacognitive awareness and a growing identity, (3) Improvement. Learners are more active and responsible for the learning program that is being carried out. Partners in learning change the way of 'telling students about topics they need to know' to facilitating them to get the necessary information (inquiry). Partners in learning will produce students like Paul taught in Col. 1:28 namely growing towards maturity towards Christ.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penulisan karya ilmiah ini yaitu untuk mengetahui teologi agama kristen di Indonesia yang  terus mengalami perkembangan dan untuk mengetahui tentang keberadaan Teologi kekristenan di tengah masyarakat yang pluralistik. Agama adalah konsep dimana seseorang menemukan yang dipercayainya. Dari pengertian agama itu sendiri bahwa agama adalah tidak kacau. Hidup tertib tanpa adanya permusuhan satu dengan yang lainnya. Namun nyatanya tidak demikian. Ada banyak orang yang bahkan memiliki agama hidupnya tidak tertib. Indonesia terdiri dari enam agama yaitu Kristen, Budha, Islam, Konghucu, Katolik dan Hindu. Perbedaan-perbedaan pasti ada dan itu tidak bisa di pungkiri. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Metode ini digunakan untuk menjelaskan keberadaan teologi kristen di tengah masyarakat yang pluralistik. Berdasarkan hasil yang diketahui ada tiga tindakan yang perlu dilakukan teologi kekristenan di tengah masyarakat yang pluralistik yaitu dengan cara mengadakan dialog dan membangun sikap toleransi serta bagaimana bersikap layaknya orang Kristen. Sikap Kekristenan di tengah masyarakat yang pluralistik menentukan penerimaan  kehadiran yang seutuhnya. Tanpa sikap yang baik, penolakan akan mudah terjadi dan itu berdampak besar bagi kelangsungan hidup ditengah masyarakat Indonesia yang pluralistik.

Abstract

Perempuan adalah figur yang berperan positif dalam kehidupan ini. Kaum perempuan menjadi bagian yang menolak terjadinya penindasan dan ketidakadilan yang berimplikasi pada kekuasaan destruktif. Kekuasaan semacam itu dapat mengakibatkan yang lain menjadi korban. Dalam teks Keluaran 1:8–2:10, terdapat kekuasaan yang mengatur anak laki-laki Ibrani supaya tidak memperoleh hak untuk hidup, tetapi ada peran para perempuan yang menolak aturan itu. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menafsir teks itu dan menganalisis kekuasaan itu sekaligus menunjukkan kepedulian perempuan terhadap Musa sebagai anak. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi hermeneutik feminis. Penelitian ini menghasilkan pemahaman tentang peran para perempuan yang hadir dalam menyelamatkan anak-anak, yang dimulai dari bidan-bidan, kemudian Yokhebed, Miryam, putri Firaun bersama dayang-dayangnya yang menyelamatkan dan membesarkan Musa. Tuhan memakai para perempuan itu untuk membuat Musa menjadi seorang pemimpin dan pembebas bagi Israel, sekaligus menjadi bagian dari sejarah penyelamatan dunia. Dalam hal ini, ada kejelasan bahwa peran perempuan memiliki signifikansi dalam kehidupan di dunia kehidupan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to re-emphasize the importance of partnership from a Christian theological perspective, that partnership initiated by the Triune God and the church or believer must be based on that basis. Partnerships are now increasingly narrowed in their realization so that a re-evaluation is needed with theological and Biblical foundations. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with reference to literary sources that are relevant to the subject of this research. The findings in this study to answer the problem of partnership in Christian mission are that partnership must be global and universal, must plunge into the boundaries of the organization that governs it, and be based on the ultimate relationship of the Triune God.
