Abstract

This mineral processing aims to separate valuable minerals from their impurities using mechanical methods by utilizing the physical and chemical properties of the minerals. One of them is by using gravity concentration with a sluice box tool. It is known that to achieve the desired recovery, this tool requires supporting parameters for optimal recovery, including dimensions and materials, riffles, slopes, water discharge, and carpet types. The purpose of this paper is to determine whether several supporting parameters really affect the results of metal mineral processing with the limitation of the problem is the influence of supporting parameters in various previous research results. The results of the review show that the supporting parameters affect the processing results. In addition, the parameters also influence each other. If the results of these parameters are not accurate, the processing results will also be less than optimal and material sedimentation will occur.

Abstract

The Tannery Industry Center of Belimbing Village, located close to Situbondo City and adjacent to residential areas, has a significant impact on the lives of the surrounding community. According to locals, the tannery industry in their region is considered a boon for being the main source of livelihood. The majority of the workforce in the area works as employees in this industrial center. Second, residents also complain of significant pollution impacts on the quality of their living environment, such as air pollution levels that are very disturbing and result in respiratory system disorders. In addition, river 9water pollution has also become a serious issue as a result of ineffective waste management by the tannery industry. This study applies a qualitative research approach, where data are obtained through in-depth interview methods, observation, FGD, literature review, and secondary data analysis. The results show a unique situation in Belimbing Village, where residents depend on industry as a source of livelihood, but at the same time cause negative impacts on air and water quality that reduce their living environment. A number of studies focused on business growth without paying attention to environmental aspects. However, this study explores how an entrepreneur seeks to expand his business by taking into account environmental factors as a key element in managing a business, known as ecopreneurship. Expectations for sustainable business growth are in line with efforts to preserve environmental quality. The majority of business actors in Belimbing Village have not fully adopted the concept of ecopreneurship in their business operations because effective waste management requires significant financial investment. Nevertheless, the continuous increase in sales in the leather industry center of Belimbing Village shows a sustainable business growth.

Abstract

The paper briefly elaborates on student project-based learning related to student motivation, where Project-Based Learning asks students to work in groups over a set period on a project designed to solve a problem or answer a question. Educators have learned an enormous amount that has informed educational practice to enhance learning. The construct of motivation and how to develop positive motivation and behavior has permeated all areas of human endeavor. Educational psychology, in particular, has a long history of studying the nature and dynamics of motivation for learning. (Mclnerney, n.d.). In summary, these articles present very interesting perspectives on students-based project learning and motivation across diverse settings, and they may be further enhanced by significant attention being paid to differences that characterize groups and the specific 'local' features of motivation and learning that must form the foundation of effective educational practices. In other words, a stimulus needs may be considered an attempt to deal with competence getting involved. When we get students' motivation when the PBL pursues a certain goal, remember motivation is not the behavior, it can be directly observed.

Abstract

This article examines when and how environmental scarcity and degradation lead to conflicts, and how countries resolve conflicts over the sharing of renewable resources between different states. Two research programs related to environmentally-based conflicts are reviewed, and about thirty activities for resolving environmental conflicts are listed. A single example of the Nile Basin Initiative is dealt with in particular detail. Three main conclusions can be drawn: First, scarcity of renewable resources and environmental degradation can lead to conflict when they interfere with each other under certain political and socio-economic conditions. Such conflicts can become serious in the internal settlement process, often in the context of political instability and poverty. International environmental conflicts, however, very rarely lead to military action. Yet the lack of international cooperation when sharing resources, based on the interests of various states, it really prevents the adequate development of these resources, thereby leading to overuse or underutilization of the resource, or to obvious “natural” disasters such as droughts and floods. These negative consequences, in turn, can collectively lead to poverty, migration and conflict. Second, there are indications that the assistance of a third party, usually an International Government Organization (IGO), is often more effective in reducing international tensions and enhancing environmental sustainability than conflicts governed solely by the conflicting parties themselves. Moreover, examples further demonstrate that conflict resolution efforts are likely to be more successful when they place a strong emphasis on common interests, focus on efficiency and require external resolution, and when they are jointly involved in sharing costs and revenues. Third, the above examples of conflict resolution show that International Governmental Organizations should strengthen their role as mediators from an independent third party. IGOs must support the participants without taking responsibility for the process itself or the results. A “cross-cutting” settlement, that is, measures to link the government with middle and lower-level leaders, is necessary to avoid shifting the problem from the international arena to the national level.
