Abstract

This study is aimed to determine: (1) whether the critical thinking skills of students taught with problem-based learning models are higher than the critical thinking skills of students taught with Direct Instruction learning models, (2) whether the critical thinking skills of students who have higher learning motivation are more higher than the critical thinking skills of students who have low learning motivation; and (3) the interaction between learning models and learning motivation on student's critical thinking skill. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of SD Negeri 104217 Sidomulyo, consisting of 2 classes with totaling 62 people. The research method used were Quasi Experiment with 2x2 factorial research design and a significance level of 0.05. The instruments used were motivation questionnaire and critical thinking skills test. Data analysis used were analysis of variance and the Tuckey test. The results showed that: (1) student's critical thinking skills taught with problem-based learning models was higher than the critical thinking skills taught with direct instruction learning models in fifth grade of SD Negeri 104217 Sidomulyo. (2) Student's critical thinking skills who have high motivation was higher than student's critical thinking skills who have low learning motivation fifth grade of SD Negeri 104217 Sidomulyo. (3) There was an interaction between the problem and learning motivation based learning model on the critical thinking skills of students in fifth grade of SD Negeri 104217 Sidomulyo. The strongest interaction that affects critical thinking skills is the highly motivated PBM model, while the weakest interaction is the low motivated direct instruction model.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: (1) relationship between students' perceptions of teacher’s pedagogy and learning outcomes of Islamic  education,  (2) relationship between students’ learning motivation and students’ learning outcomes of Islamic education?, and  (3) relationship in line between students' perceptions of teacher’s pedagogy and learning motivation with the learning outcomes of Islamic education.  The type of this research is Quantitative Descriptive Correlational, with descriptive analysis. Data collection tools are using a likert scale questionnaire. The questionnaire was compiled based on the indicators of each variable and checked with the thesis supervisor, then the instrument test was carried out on the respondents and not the research sample.  The results showed that students' perception about teacher’s pedagogy and learning motivation had a relationship with the learning outcomes of Islamic education. In the research hypothesis test, the correlation (1) X1 and Y = r calculate was greater than the r table value (0.461 > 0.339) and the significance value was less than 0.05 (0.006 < 0.05). (2) the correlation of X2 with Y = r calculate is greater than the value of r table (0.409 > 0.339) and the significance value is less than 0.05 (0.016 < 0.05). (3) The correlation of X1 and X2 in line with Y = F calculate is greater than F table (5.089 > 3.30) and the significance value is less than 0.005 (0.012 < 0.05).

Abstract

This study was aimed to conduct need analysis towards the development of interactive e-module based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) for the students of class X of SMA. This study was an initial research included in the development model of Four-D by Thiagarajan, et al. This study was limited at the define stage (need assessment) coming from the results of the observation, the interview, and the documentation. The define stage was conducted with: a) curriculum analysis, b) analysis of students’ characteristics, c) material analysis, and d) specifying instructional objectives. The data analysis was conducted descriptively and interpretatively. The subjects of the research were the economics teachers and the students of class X of SMA Negeri 6 Pematangsiantar. The result of the analysis showed that the curriculum used in SMA Negeri 6 Pematangsiantar was the 2013 curriculum in which the implementation emphasized on the use of the innovative learning media and strategy. From the characteristic of the cognitive development, the students of class X of SMA could study using Contextual Teaching and Learning. Besides, the students and the teachers were enthusiastic with the development of more interactive learning model. The material that was taught was the material of the Basic Concepts of Economicsby referring to the syllabus used by the school. The final objective that was achieved in this development research was to improve the economics learning outcomes of the students of SMA Negeri 6 Pematangsiantar. This study was the part of the development research of the interactive e-module based on CTL as the learning media of the students of class X of SMA to improve the economics learning outcomes of the students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the attitude appraisal system contained in the French thesis text at UNIMED. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method. The research sample is the French thesis text at UNIMED on behalf of Ayokta Ghea M. Panjaitan, NIM. 21013001 where the type of thesis is linguistics with the title Analyze De Champ Lexical Des Activités Des Yeux En Français (Analysis of the Lexical Meaning of Eye Activity in French) totaling 58 pages with the highest GPA of 3.85 and Irna Fadillah Nasution, NIM. 2101131002 with a GPA of 3.45 with the title of the thesis Analyze Sémiotique De La Publicite Femme De Beauté Dans Le Magazine Femme Actuelle (Semiotic Analysis of Beauty Advertisements in the French Magazine Femme Actuelle) totaling 60 pages that have been validated by native speakers teaching at the French Language Education Study Program UNIMED in 2015 and also teaches at the Alliance Française (AF) called Marine Petite. Data were analyzed using the Simple Concordance Program (SCP) concordance program software using the Apraisal system, namely: Attitude Apraisal. The results showed that the Apraisal System in the French Thesis text at UNIMED was the Paradigmatic System because the Apraisal System in the French thesis text consisted of (a). Gender (le gendre), which consists of: masculine (masculin) and feminine (féminin) and (b). Total (le nombre), which consists of: single (singulier) and plural (pluriel).

Abstract

Everyone is entitled to education because education serves to improve the quality of a person's life. Education for deaf disability children, also needs to get focused of attention according to the limitations basic motor motion. The application of adaptive aplication learning media is used to improve motor skills of the disabled child's motor disability.The purpose of this research is to find out about: (1) the impact of application of media SIBI can help locomotor motion of deaf disability children, (2) the impact of media SIBI application to help manipulative motion of deaf disability children, (3) the impact of application of rainbow flag to help locomotor motion of deaf disability children, (4) the impact of the application of rainbow flags to help manipulative motion deaf disability children, (5) the magnitude of the increase in locomotor activity of deaf disability children using the application of media SIBI and rainbow flag, (6) the increase in manipulative activity of deaf disability children using the application of media SIBI and rainbow flags.This research is quantitative with quasi-experimental. The research design uses matching-only design, data analysis using Paired-Sampels T Test. The process of data collection is done with a pretest and posttest weight using the instrument of adapted motor skills, and validated by the expert to retrieve data locomotor motion and manipulative motion.The result of data analysis using SPSS version 20 on average data between pretest and posttest each group, namely: (a) Locomotor: media SIBI group increased 10,10%, sig. = 0.003 and the rainbow flag group increased 13.40%, sig. = 0.001. (b) Manipulative: media SIBI group increased by 10.10%, sig. = 0.063 and the rainbow flag group increased 13%, sig. = 0.007. Is increasing the influence of media SIBI and rainbow on locomotor motion 11,75% while in motion manipulative 11,55%.The result of the the study, that the application of media SIBI to improve locomotor motion not for manipulatif motion behind rainbow flag to improve of locomotor motion and manipulative deaf disability children.One of the fundamental strategies in attempts to develop athletic sports in Surabaya was to conduct special training through athletic extracurricular activities in schools, hence it was the starting point for the discovery of potential athletes. The purpose of this study was to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and Threat from athletic extracurricular management which included Planning, Organizing, Implementing and Supervising which was conducted by Dr. Soetomo and Jalan Jawa Junior High School in Surabaya. The approach used in this study was a qualitative approach and the type of evaluative research (Evaluation Research) used descriptive methods. The evaluation design used in this study was the SWOT Analysis. The results and conclusions of this study indicated that the athletic extracurricular management at Dr Soetomo Junior High School; The Planning was already a good program, The Organizing used the organizational structure and cooperation which already existed so the working mechanism was clear of its functions and parts, The Actuating contained the schedule of activities, the attendance of students and the coaches are well-monitored by the extracurricular coordinator, The Controlling implemented a routine evaluation that carried out at the end of the school year, but for the achievements have not been as the expectation. On the other hand, Jalan Jawa Junior High School implemented the management as; The Planning of this school did not have a good program, The Organizing included the involved cooperation of leaders, teachers and parents of students was very good, The Actuating related to the exercise did not run well, The Oversight represented almost every championship in Surabaya, Jalan Jawa Junior High School got good marks. The researchers have conducted more in-depth analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and Threat of athletic extracurricular management which included Planning, Organizing, Implementing and Supervising which was conducted by Dr Soetomo and Jalan Jawa Junior High School in Surabaya, furthermore resulting some recommendations for Dr. Soetomo and

Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of team sports and individual sports on the health status and emotional intelligence of children aged 13-16 years. In this study, the research method used is a quantitative approach with experimental research methods. The data analysis technique used MANOVA. The data collection process was carried out using a questionnaire instrument, namely the KIDSCREEN-27 questionnaire to measure health status and the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire-Adolescent Short Form was used to measure emotional intelligence. Then the data is processed using the SPSS version 22.0 application. The results showed: (1) There was a significant difference between team sports and individual sports on the health status of children aged 13-16 years with a significant value of 0.007 < 0.05; (2) There is no difference in the effect of team sports and individual sports on the emotional intelligence of children aged 13-16 years with a significant value of 0.918 > 0.05.

Abstract

This study examined the skills of science process in children aged 4-6 years and became the formulation of this research, the problem is how science process skills of children aged 4-5 years and 5-6 years in Santa Lusia Kindergarten Medan. This research aimed to find out how science process skills of children aged 4-6 years in Santa Lusia Kindergarten Medan. The source of the research data was from teachers in kindergarten and the subject is in learning. Based on the initial survey, the research subject in this study was 20 children with 6 children as sample. Children aged 4-5 3 children consisting of 2 boys and 1 girl and for ages 5-6  3 children consisting of 2 boys and 1 girl that divided into 3 categories, which is a child who has Active, medium and low science process skills. The research methods used qualitative descriptive. The data collection techniques were done with an in-depth observation and interview to the resource teacher, the teachers of the creative classroom Santa Lusia Kindergarten Medan. Data was analyzed by data collection, data reduction, data presentation, withdrawal of conclusions and verification. The results showed that the skills of the science process demonstrated by children aged 4-6 years was medium category. Because of the 20 children who were observed only 5 children who had active skills of science processes and 12 children had medium science skills that last there are 3 children who belong to the low science process..

Abstract

The present study is an attempt to explore the effect of different task -based syllabus on Iranian EFL Learners’ Oral courses in Terms of Accuracy, Fluency. The outcome of this study could show a   light on designing tasks with applicable level of cognitive complexity. The construct of task complexity and its importance in grading and sequencing of pedagogic tasks are discussed. Then, mention will be made of different models and criteria for estimating task complexity. After that, the most comprehensive model (Robinson's Triadic Framework or The Cognition hypothesis) will be discussed in great details. Furthermore, the outcome may prove insightful visions for material producers in preparing tasks and for learners in evaluating their promotion. A questionnaire was assembled for teachers to explore the teaching/learning environment and any problematic areas in this process. Finally, the role of the Task Complexity in grading and sequencing pedagogical tasks will be touched upon.

Abstract

This study aims to produce teaching materials by using VAK (Visual Auditory Kinestethic) on fantasy story material for 7th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Medan. The research method used is Research and Development which refers to Borg and Gall model. The stages of development are the initial study phase, initial product development, and product trials. The results showed that the results of material validation included content eligibility with an average of 82% with a very good category, Eligibility for Presentation with an average of 87.5% with a very good category, and an assessment of language aspects with an average of 82.2% with a category very good. For the assessment of graphics by design experts obtained an average of 87% with the category "very good". Product trials are carried out in three stages: individual testing, small group trials, and limited field trials. Individual trials with an average of 86% with very good categories, small group trials with an average of 87.4% with very good categories, and limited field trials with an average of 88.3% with very good categories. The effectiveness of teaching materials is obtained through student learning outcomes in the pretest and posttest. Average score at pretest is 52 and at posttest is 76. This proves that the teaching material of fantasy story by using VAK (Visual Auditory Kinestethic) is feasible, easy, and effective for use in 7th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Medan. This research has implications for Indonesian language learning process, which is teaching material by using VAK (Visual Auditory Kinestethic) which is developed to provide practical contributions, especially in the implementation of the learning process for teachers, teaching materials in the form of this module can be additional teaching materials to provide convenience in conveying fantasy story material taught, enriching and increasing students' knowledge about fantasy story so that learning will be more interesting and motivate students, trains students to learn independently.

Abstract

Character education associated with learning fable story texts is very influential on the development of the character of students who are known to be very bad and deviant. Obviously, only for students of State of junior high school One, Tinggi Raja, there are still many students who are not disciplined in terms of attendance, are less responsible for completing homework assignments, and are also often dishonest to teachers or parents. This aims of research is to improve the ability to think and understand by linking messages to fable stories with self-character so that students are expected to be able to master some character education that must be fulfilled to be subsequently applied in everyday life. This research is a type of research and development. This research method is used to produce certain products and test the effectiveness of these products.
