Abstract

The study aims to determine the influence of the Problem Based Learnimg (PBL) learning model and the motivation to students critical thinking skills, as well as the interaction between learning models and the motivation to learn from students critical thinking skills. This study was conducted at SD Negeri 105390 in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year. The population in this study is a class V student of elementary school 105390 Island pictures numbering at 55 people. Sampling is carried out in total, i.e. V-A and V-B classes. The V-B class as an experimental class taught with a collaborative problem-based learning (PBL) model with the number of students 28 people. As for the control class is taught by a direct instruction model elected class V-A with the number of students as many as 27 people. This type of research includes research quasi experiments with 2x2 factorial design with analytical techniques variance (ANAVA) 2 lines. Based on the results of the analysis and research findings from the field obtained several conclusions that are answers to questions on the problem formulation, among them the critical thinking ability of students taught with a collaborative Problem-based learning model better than students taught with a direct learning model (sig. = 0.000 < 0.05), a student's critical thinking ability of high motivation is better than a low-motivation student (sig. = 0.01 < 0.05), and there is interaction between the two learning models with a level of motivation in influencing students ' critical thinking ability (sig. = 0.02 < 0.05).

Abstract

The widely spread usage of technology at tertiary level has stimulated professors and policymakers to search for new methods of assessment that fit the new digital generation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the benefits and challenges students get from utilizing e-portfolio in UCAS students' EFL classes. The total number of students in English Language social work classes under the humanitarian department at UCAS is 60 (30 males and 30 females). Those are officially enrolling in English Language course (DIPL 1303) at first semester of 2017/2018 academic year. A qualitative method was used to collect data for one semester. The results from the qualitative data indicated that students got four benefits from utilizing e-portfolio: Promoting feedback, improving ICT skills, enhancing quality of e-portfolio's content and holding responsibility as well as independence in the learning process. However, the students were reported to have faced some problems during implementation of e-portfolio such as: time factor, lack of efficiency and effectiveness of utilizing e-portfolio, lack of infrastructural facilities, and inability to speak English fluently. Therefore, it can be concluded that integrating e-portfolio at the tertiary level would facilitate the learning process and create a real change among the new digital generation.

Abstract

This research was conducted to produce a volleyball smash learning model and test its effectiveness for junior high school children. The development method adopts the development steps of Borg and Gall. Small group trials involve 15 athletes and 60 for large group trials. The development of the model begins with small trials, large trials and effectiveness tests. The effectiveness test used pre-post test with the instrument of the volleyball smash skills of junior high school students. The exercise model that was applied was tested for the significance of the difference and it was obtained that the t-test = 31,614, db = 32 and p-value = 0.00 <0.05, meaning that there were significant differences in the ability of students before and after they were given the volleyball smash learning model. It was concluded that existing moddel could be developed and applied in volleyball smash learning and effectively improved volleyball smash learning outcomes for junior high school students.

So, the teacher is reluctant to think about finding out how to develop teaching materials. This research was conducted at the Pulau Rakyat Private Junior High School, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra to grade VII students. The implementation of this research was carried out in the even semester of 2019. The results of the effectiveness of teaching materials for writing descriptive text based on local wisdom of Pulau Rakyat on a limited trial were 32 students of class VII of the Private Island Private Junior High School, namely the results of the pretest trial obtained an average score of 69.5 with sufficient category. Meanwhile, the student learning outcomes after using the teaching materials to write descriptive texts based on the local wisdom of the Island of the People / postest with an average score of 77.3 in a good category.
