Abstract

This article examines the increasing phenomenon of brutality in Indonesian political activities during the presidency of Joko Widodo. While President Jokowi's administration has achieved significant economic and infrastructural advancements, these successes are overshadowed by a troubling rise in political violence, intimidation, and repression. This study explores the manifestations of brutality, from physical violence during protests and elections to psychological intimidation through online harassment. The findings indicate that polarization, identity politics, and the centralization of power have contributed to the normalization of these violent tactics, posing a severe threat to Indonesia's democratic integrity. The article concludes by highlighting the urgent need for reforms to address this brutality, protect democratic institutions, and ensure a stable and inclusive future for Indonesia.

Abstract

Large red chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is one of the leading vegetable commodities which has a strategic role in the structure of national economic development. According to the Central Statistics Agency, in 2021 there will be an increase in red chili production in East Java Province. Jember recorded a harvest of 6,083 tons with a harvest area of 549 Ha. The increasing market demand is not accompanied by sufficient production, resulting in fluctuating red chili prices. Chili farmers in Andongsari often experience problems marketing fresh products, low selling prices during the main harvest of the harvest due to damage during storage. For this reason, the Larasati Women's Farmers Group (KWT) in Andongsari took the initiative to process large red chilies to increase added value and also extend shelf life by drying them. The business of processing chilies into dried chilies is still considered less promising, so KWT Larasati is making efforts to diversify its processed chili products into various processed chili products. This research was conducted to analyze the chili business value chain to increase sales according to sales targets. Based on data used for one month of production, the tuna variant of simbok chili sauce has the highest added value compared to shredded chilies, this is due to the higher frequency of sales of simbok chili sauce so it has a high resale value.

Abstract

Struggling students risk leaving school without having the opportunity to develop their independence to become less reliant on others. This study aims to gain insights into how formative assessment as a teaching design can support self-regulated learning (SRL) among struggling students. Entrance Ticket and Exit Card are short prompts that can provide instructors with a quick student diagnostic. These exercises can be collected on 6”x4” cards or small pieces of paper. Formative assessment is most effective when administered often. Efficiency is ensured when the information identified is evaluated immediately and the results are applied directly in the next lesson. The study was conducted to determine the perceptions of students and experts regarding using entrance tickets and exit cards for promoting students' learning autonomy. This ADDIE research and development study was conducted to develop entrance tickets and exit cards. After the product was created, a quasi-experimental design was used to determine the product's effectiveness toward learner autonomy. The result revealed feasible evaluations from the students and the experts regarding the product. Statistical processes using the independent t-test analysis in comparing the achievement between the control and experimental groups showed significant differences between the groups based on the "Independent Samples Test" output table in the "Equal variances not assumed" row, it is generated that the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00 <0.05. The experimental group showed above average with overall total mean score of 3.846 level of learner autonomy. The implications of this study extend to teachers, students, and future researchers, providing valuable insights and directions for the advancement and improvement of language education.

Abstract

This study seeks to evaluate how motivation, work environment, and job training affect employee performance. The study involved a sample of 106 employees, selected through a simple random sampling technique to ensure representative results. The analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), a method that is well-suited to handle complex models and provides insight into the relationships between variables. The results revealed that motivation has a significant positive impact on employee performance. Highly motivated employees tend to perform better in their roles. In addition, the work environment plays a significant role in enhancing employee performance; a supportive and conducive work environment contributes to higher productivity and job satisfaction. Furthermore, job training has also been shown to have a positive impact on employee performance. Well-designed training programs that are relevant to the employee’s role help improve their skills and knowledge, which in turn improves employee performance.
