Abstract

Advances in information technology are encouraging government institutions, including the police, to undertake digital transformation to support performance effectiveness and accountability. However, the investigation administration process in many police work units is still carried out manually, resulting in various problems, such as late reporting, the risk of document loss, and low investigator work efficiency. This study aims to design and implement an online-based investigation administration input application system to facilitate performance reporting at the Nias Police Resort. The methods used include user needs analysis, web-based system design, and system trials in the police work environment. The implementation results show that the system is able to accelerate the data input process, improve document accuracy and security, and provide real-time performance reports to leaders. Thus, this application system can be an effective solution to improve the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of investigation administration within the police environment.

Abstract

The development of information technology encourages government agencies to implement digitalization in administrative processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability of services. One aspect of administration that is still largely managed manually is the management of employee pay slips, which has the potential to cause delays, miscalculations, and inefficient use of resources. This study aims to design and implement a digitalization-based electronic pay slip issuance application at the Nias Police. The system development method used is the Waterfall method, which includes the stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The developed application is web-based with two levels of users: financial administrators and employees. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the electronic pay slip application can accelerate the pay slip issuance process, improve calculation accuracy, strengthen data security, and increase transparency and employee satisfaction. Thus, this application is considered effective as a digital solution for payroll administration and supports government policies related to the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze leadership style strategies in improving employee performance at the Lahewa District Office, North Nias Regency. The focus of this study covers three main things: (1) to determine the leadership style strategies applied at the Lahewa District Office in improving employee performance, (2) to determine the obstacles faced in implementing these leadership style strategies, and (3) to identify strategies that can be applied to improve leadership effectiveness in an effort to improve employee performance. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the dominant leadership style applied at the Lahewa District Office is a participatory leadership style, where leaders involve employees in decision-making and provide space for employees to express ideas and input. However, in its implementation, several obstacles were found, such as a lack of effective communication between leaders and employees, low motivation of some employees, and limited work support facilities. To overcome these obstacles, strategies that can be applied include increasing the intensity of communication, providing periodic self-development training, and providing adequate facilities and infrastructure to support the implementation of tasks. Through the implementation of these strategies, leadership effectiveness is expected to increase, thus having a positive impact on improving employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of an employee recruitment system on filling positions at the Nias Class B Search and Rescue Office. Problems arise because the recruitment process has not fully produced employees who meet the physical requirements, knowledge, and technical skills, thus impacting the effectiveness of filling positions. The research method used is quantitative with simple linear regression analysis using the SPSS version 26 program. The study population was employees of the Nias Class B Search and Rescue Office with 33 respondents. The results showed that the recruitment system had a positive and significant effect on filling positions. The t-test produced a t-value of 4.402 greater than t-table 1.696, with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. The correlation coefficient value of 0.620 indicates a strong relationship between recruitment variables and filling positions. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.385 indicates that 38.5% of the variation in filling positions is influenced by the recruitment system, while the remaining 61.5% is influenced by other factors outside the study. In conclusion, the use of a selective, objective, and needs-based recruitment system plays an important role in ensuring the appropriate filling of positions in the Nias Class B Search and Rescue Office.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of marketing strategies on customer satisfaction at PT Kencana Mulia Abadi in Gunugsitoli City. The background of this study is based on the importance of implementing appropriate marketing strategies to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty. In this study, marketing strategies are analyzed based on the marketing mix elements implemented by the company, while customer satisfaction is measured through the conformity of expectations, repurchase intention, and willingness to recommend. This study uses a quantitative approach with an instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed to 50 respondents who are customers of PT Kencana Mulia Abadi. Data analysis techniques used include validity tests, reliability, simple linear regression, and hypothesis testing. The results of the study indicate that marketing strategies have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, with a t-test value of 7.833 and a significance of 0.000 <0.05. In addition, a coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.561 is obtained, which means that 56.1% of the variation in customer satisfaction is influenced by marketing strategies, while the remaining 43.9% is influenced by other factors outside this study. Thus, the better the marketing strategy implemented, the more customer satisfaction at PT Kencana Mulia Abadi will increase. This research is expected to be a material for evaluation and consideration for the company in compiling and developing more effective marketing strategies in the future.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of workload on employee stress levels at the Nias Heritage Museum. The background of this study began with the phenomenon of increasing employee complaints related to work pressure, physical fatigue, health problems, and symptoms of psychological stress that arise due to high and unbalanced workloads. Excessive workloads, whether physical, mental, or emotional, are suspected to be the main factor causing work stress. This study used a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The population in this study were all 40 employees of the Nias Heritage Museum. Data collection was carried out through distributing questionnaires using a Likert scale, and analyzed by simple linear regression using SPSS version 26. The test results showed that workload had a positive and significant effect on stress levels. The significance value of the t test was 0.000 (<0.05) and the calculated t value was 15.890 > t table 0.304 indicating that the higher the workload received, the higher the employee stress level. The calculation result of the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R²) of 86.5% indicates that workload contributes 86.5% to job stress, while the remaining 13.5% is influenced by other factors outside this study. This study recommends that the management of the Nias Heritage Museum evaluate the distribution of tasks and create a more balanced and supportive work environment to reduce employee stress levels.

Abstract

Thdiscounts, purchasing decisions, marketing strategiesis study aims to determine and analyze the effect of price discounts on purchasing decisions for Morinaga products at Citi Mart Stores in Gunungsitoli City. The background of this study is based on the phenomenon of high consumer interest in Morinaga products when price discounts are applied, which shows the importance of price promotion strategies in increasing purchasing decisions. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques through questionnaires distributed to 60 consumer respondents who have purchased Morinaga products at Citi Mart Stores during the promotional period. Data were analyzed using validity tests, reliability, simple linear regression, coefficient of determination, and t-tests with the help of the SPSS version 26 program. The results showed that price discounts had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions with a significance value of 0.018 (<0.05), a coefficient of determination of 9.2%, and a relationship level of 0.304 which is included in the sufficient category. This indicates that even though the influence is relatively small, price discounts still have a role in influencing consumer purchasing decisions, while there is the possibility that other factors are more dominant in influencing purchasing decisions, such as product quality, brand preferences, or consumer psychological factors. Thus, a discount strategy can be an effective promotional alternative, but it needs to be combined with other marketing factors to be more optimal in attracting consumer purchasing interest.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance evaluation of the Family Planning extension team at the Population Control, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection Office of Gunungsitoli City in efforts to reduce stunting rates. The approach used was a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. Research informants were selected purposively, including family planning extension workers, structural officials of the P5A Office, and community beneficiaries of the program. The research results indicate that the performance of the family planning extension team was generally effective and adaptive. This is reflected in a periodic quantitative and qualitative evaluation system, solid cross-agency coordination, and ongoing training that enhances the extension workers' capacity as agents of change. The educational strategy employed was interpersonal and contextual, with a participatory, demonstrative, and collaborative approach with local leaders and female cadres. This strategy successfully increased nutrition awareness, healthy lifestyles, and community participation in integrated health service posts (Posyandu) and maternal and child health services. However, program implementation faces various challenges, including limited number of extension workers, geographical barriers, socio-cultural resistance to family planning programs, and a lack of technology-based educational media. Supporting factors such as institutional commitment, cross-sector synergy, and community trust are key strengths in strengthening community-based interventions. This study concludes that successful stunting reduction depends heavily on the quality of interactions between extension workers and the community, as well as ongoing institutional support. Therefore, innovative communication strategies and strengthening institutional capacity are needed to ensure the program's overall sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of academic leadership in improving student retention at the Faculty of Economics, Nias University. The high number of inactive and absent students indicates serious challenges in the management of academic services and leadership effectiveness within the faculty. The research approach used was descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving key informants such as the dean, vice dean, head of study program, academic advisors, students, and alumni. The results show that academic leadership at the Faculty of Economics, Nias University, has a significant influence on student retention through three main mechanisms: (1) strengthening academic communication and coordination, (2) personal guidance and mentoring of students through academic advisors, and (3) creating a participatory and supportive academic climate. However, limitations in the intensity of academic guidance and the low capacity of lecturers to provide psychosocial support to students are still found. Factors such as economic constraints, low learning motivation, and limited facilities also worsen the retention rate. This study recommends the application of transformational and visionary leadership styles, strengthening the academic guidance system, and implementing data-based policies to monitor the risk of dropout early. The results of this study are expected to be a basis for faculties in designing academic leadership strategies that are oriented towards increasing student retention and academic success.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Department of Manpower, Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of West Nias Regency with the aim of determining the influence of organizational culture on employee performance and how much influence it has in the government agency. This research used a quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to 32 employees at the Department of Manpower, Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of West Nias Regency. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of the promotion variable (X) on the employee performance variable (Y) as indicated by the results of the t-test with a significance value (Sig.) of 0.005, which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05. In addition, the t-count value of 3.069 is greater than the t-table value of 1.697. These results indicate that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, which means there is a positive and significant influence between organizational culture on employee performance at the Department of Manpower, Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of West Nias Regency. Meanwhile, based on the results of the determination coefficient test (R Square), it was obtained that the organizational culture variable influenced the employee performance variable by 23.9%.
