Abstract

One  of  the  most  important  aspects  of  the  language  use  is  in  the  people’s implicature  that  can  be  shown  in  the  conversation.  As  in  fact,  many students  do not understand the conversational maxims that cause the implicature. Based on its background,  this  study  uses  a  novel  entitled  “Harry  Potter  and  the  Sorcerer’s Stone” to enrich the understanding of conversational maxims. This study has two purposes. The first is to identify the maxims which flout the cooperative principle in term of meanings. The second is to identity the speech act of each implicature. The  method  used  in  this  study  was  descriptive  qualitative  with  cooperative principle analysis approach. The objects of the study were the conversations. The findings show  that  there  are  47.4%  conversations  which  flout  quaqntity  maxim; 13.2% conversations which flout quality maxim; 31.6% conversations which flout relevance maxim and 7.9% conversations which flout manner maxim. Meanwhile the  next  finding  related  to  the  speech  act.  There  are  expressive,  directive  and representative. It  is  suggested  that  these  findings  can  be  used  as  a recommendation for researchers to use other novels as the object of the study and other  point  of  view,  such  as  to  describe and  explain  the  level  of  difficulty  in  the conversational maxims. Keywords: speech act, cooperative principle, novel

Abstract

The experimental design used was randomized complete block design. The first factor is time pruning consist of without pruning apical (W1), pruning time during the vegetative phase of the age of 14 HST (W2), and the pruning phase of generative shoots at age 21 HST (W3), whereas the second factor is composed of phosphate fertilizer from without phosphate fertilizer (P0), 75 kg of phosphate fertilizer / ha (P1), phosphate fertilizer 150 kg / ha (P2), and phosphate fertilizers 225 kg / ha (P3). Data analysis by F test and if thereare significant differences followed by DMRT test and orthogonal contrasts. Variables observed were samples of plant height per plant, number of leaves per plant sample, wet weight of sample plants per plant, plant dry weight per plant samples, flowering, fruit number per plant sample, the sample length of the fruit per plant, weight of fruit per plant sample, wet weight of plants per plot effectively, and dry weight of plants per plot effective. The results showed that the timing of pruning shoots were significantly different to all the observed variables, except variable flowering, while phosphate fertilizer were significantly against all variable. There is interaction between time of pruning shoots and phosphate fertilizers to the plant height per plant sample, the number of leaves per plant sample, wet weight of sample plants per plant, plant dry weight perplant sample, weight of fruit per plant sample, wet weight of plants per plot effectively, and dry weight of plants per plot effective  Key words: cucumber, shoot pruning, fertilizer phosphate

Abstract

Water consumed should be eligible physical, chemical, and bacteriological. Nitrite is the watersoluble chemical compound that can damage the health, including cause of diarrhea. The high incidence of diarrhea and not achieving the target of the coverage areas of environmental health in terms of supervision and control of water quality in Puskesmas Mijen, Semarang, it is necessary to research that aims to identify the nitrate values in water source at coverage ofPuskesmas Mijen, Semarang. A descriptive analytic study using systematic sampling methodwith estimate proportion formula. Sampling was carried out in 10 villages were included incoverage area of Puskesmas Mijen, Semarang. The examination nitrate levels in water isperformed in laboratory of Balai Laboratorium Kesehatan Semarang. From 36 water samplesanalyzed that the majority of water source in Puskesmas Mijen (97.2%) met the criteria forquality standards nitrate (10 mg/L). Ngadirgo water source is the only one of village does notappropriate the quality standard criteria of nitrate values (2.8%).

Abstract

AbstractThe  Maintenance  of mangrove crabs single  room system requires the  provision  of food  in quantity and good quality, cheap, on time and deliver high production value. One of the available food for  the  growth  of mangrove crabs in Central  Java is  the golden  apple  snail (Pomacea canaliculata), which has a protein content reached 51%. This study aims to determine the effect of feeding fresh golden apple snail with different doses on the growth and survival of mangrove crabs in  a single  room in  the pond system. The  study  consisted of five treatments fresh  golden apple  snail fresh feed at  a  dose  of 5.7,  9,  11 and  13%  / BW/day)  with  5 replications.  The experiment conducted at the beginning of mangrove crabs weigh between 80-100 g. Parameters measured include weight  gain during maintenance,  feed  efisiansi, survival and quality  of  the waters. The results showed, the highest weight gain observed in the treatment of 9% amounting to 92.2 g, while the lowest weight gain observed in the treatment of 5% amounting to 56.6 g. There was no difference in survival in each treatment feed, with the highest survival rate of 100%. The lowest feed  efficiency is  toun  the  treatment of  feed contained 13% of 41.61%.  During  the research, the parameters of qualities water in all treatments was within the range for the growth of mangrove crabs. Keywords: Scylla serrata, golden apple snail, growth, survival, feed efficiency

Abstract

Low back pain is a syndrome characterized by major symptoms of pain or a feeling of discomfort in the lower back region and the surrounding bone. Spondyloarthropathy derived from the Greek word for spine. Lumbar spondylosis may  imply changes  in  the spinal  joints,  characterized  by increasing degeneration of the intervertebral discfollowed by changes in bone and soft tissue, or it can mean an  overgrowth  of bone (osteophytes), which  are  mainly located in the  anterior  aspect, lateral, and posterior sometimes from the  edge  of  the superior  and  inferior vertebrae centralis (corpus). To provide an  effective and efficient treatment, then performed a physiotherapy management. Implementation includes any action that checks physiotherapy pain with Sekala Five Story, spasme examination by palpation, examination by range  of  motion with the  midline, and checks the value of muscle strength with Manual MuscleTesting (MMT).In this  case to overcome the  problems  above can be used modality Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation in the form of William Flexes And Exercise. After therapy six times, in getting results in a  decrease  in tenderness, and pain of  motion, increase muscle  strength  in  the trunk region, and increase range  of  motion in  the trunk region. Evaluation on the  sixth therapy for functional activity using oswestryability disability index showed an increase infunctional activity. Keywords : Low  Back Pain Spondilosis  Lumbal, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation and William Flexion Exercise.

Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the effectiveness of the implementation of the equal access to primary education program through the provision of retrieval scholarship to students with the high likelihood of dropping out, particularly, poor and female students, investigating its strength and weakness, the constrains encountered in its implementation. To achieve the goal, the data were collected from the Office of Education of East Lombok Regency and 16 (sixteen) primary education level schools (SD-MI and SMP-MTs) whose students got the retrieval scholarship in 2007, drawn by census. This study was an ex-post facto study. The data on the effectiveness of the implementation of this program of equal access to primary education through the provision of the retrieval scholarship, particularly, poor and female students were collected by questionnaire, interview guide and observation adopted from monitoring and evaluation guidelines of the project of Decentralized Basic Education ProjectAsian Development Bank (DBEP-ADB) of East Lombok Regency. The data were analyzed descriptive-quantitatively for the primary data collected by questionnaire, qualitative data (secondary) collected by interview, observation, and documentation were analyzed by qualitative analysis.
