Abstract

Sugarcane (Saccharum Officinarum), as a raw material sugar-making process, is the essential component for the sugar industry, including PT XYZ. Sugarcane is a perishable good with 48 hours shelf life after being cut from the garden; if it exceeds the shelf life, the sugarcane yield will decrease. The random pattern of truck arrivals causes a queue of trucks within the factory. This study aims to reduce the average waiting time of entities in the system using discrete simulations. Discrete-event simulation is used to capture changes in variables and has been widely used to solve queuing problems. We developed four scenarios to seek the better solution. Scenario 1 is to shift the location of the sugarcane unloading tables 1 and 2. Scenario 2 is to add one location for unloading the sugarcane table. Scenario 3 adds the function of unloading small ankle trucks and large ankles on sugar cane loading tables 4 and 5. Scenario 4 is developed by combining scenarios 1 and 3. The results show that the reduction in average waiting time of scenario 1: long truck 15.9 minutes and small ankle truck 124.6 minutes; scenario 2: small ankle truck 5.5 minutes; scenario 3: small ankle truck 95.5 minutes; scenario 4: small ankle truck 163.3 minutes and long truck 13.1 minutes.  Based on those scenarios, scenario 4 obtained the best solution with a total decrease the average truck time in the system of 176.4 minutes or 8% better than existing system. Tebu (Saccharum Officinarum) sebagai bahan baku pembuatan gula menjadi komponen paling penting bagi industri pengolahan gula, termasuk PT XYZ. Tebu bersifat perishable dengan masa simpan maksimal selama 48 jam setelah ditebang dari kebun, dan jika melebihi waktu simpan maka kadar rendemen tebu akan menurun. Pola kedatangan truk yang acak menyebabkan timbulnya antrean truk dalam pabrik. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengurangi antrean truk dengan indikator pengurangan rata-rata waktu tunggu entitas dalam sistem menggunakan simulasi diskrit. Simulasi diskrit digunakan karena dapat menangkap perubahan variabel dan telah banyak digunakan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan antrian, Simulasi menggunakan 4 skenario usulan. Skenario 1 adalah dengan menggeser lokasi meja tebu bongkar 1 dan 2. Skenario 2 adalah dengan menambah satu lokasi meja tebu bongkar. Skenario 3 adalah dengan menambahkan fungsi bongkar truk engkel kecil dan engkel besar pada meja tebu bongkar 4 dan 5. Sedangkan skenario 4 dikembangkan dengan cara menggabungkan skenario 1 dan 3. Berdasarkan skenario, pengurangan waktu tunggu rata-rata skenario 1: truk gandengan 15.9 menit dan truk engkel kecil 124.6 menit; skenario 2: truk engkel kecil 5.5 menit; skenario 3: truk engkel kecil 95.5 menit; scenario 4: truk engkel kecil 163.3 menit dan 13.1 menit untuk truk gandengan. Skenario terbaik adalah skenario 4 dengan penurunan total sebanyak 176.4 menit atau 8% dari sistem eksisting.

Abstract

Distributors are parties who play an important role in trade because distributors are intermediaries between producers and consumers. PT Surya Mandiri Distribusi is a company engaged in the distribution of cooking oil. In distribution activities, this company often experiences product stock discrepancies which results in a high bullwhip effect phenomenon. This study aims to minimize the bullwhip effect that occurs in cooking oil distributor companies. This study used the Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) method to solve the problems in this study. Where this method aims to set the distribution schedule as well as plan the number of products and their delivery time. The results of this study found that the application of the DRP method can reduce the value of the bullwhip effect in PT Surya Mandiri Distribusi by 17%. The application of the DRP method to distribution activities at PT Surya Mandiri Distribusi not only facilitates the planning of goods for future needs but is also one way that can minimize the value of the Bullwhip Effect that occurs in the company.Distributor merupakan pihak yang memegang peranan penting dalam perdagangan karena distributor merupakan perantara antara produsen dan konsumen. PT Surya Mandiri Distribusi merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang distribusi minyak goreng. Dalam aktivitas pendistribusian, perusahaan ini sering mengalami ketidaksesuaian stok produk yang mengakibatkan terjadinya fenomena bullwhip effect yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meminimalkan bullwhip effect yang terjadi pada perusahaan distributor minyak goreng. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam penelitian ini. Dimana metode ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengatur jadwal distribusi serta merencanakan jumlah produk dan waktu pengirimannya. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa penerapan metode DRP dapat menurunkan nilai bullwhip effect yang ada pada PT Surya Mandiri Distribusi sebesar 17%. Penerapan metode DRP pada aktivitas distribusi di PT Surya Mandiri Distribusi tidak hanya mempermudah perencanaan barang untuk kebutuhan kedepan namun juga merupakan salah satu cara yang dapat meminimumkan nilai Bullwhip Effect yang terjadi pada perusahaan tersebut.

Abstract

UD. Rahmad Teknik is a business engaged in the production of industrial equipment. In its production peoses, this business experiences problems in meeting consumer demand. This is because resource management is not optimal. Business owners also do not know the standard production time required and the number of workers required. The purpose of this study is to determine the standard time and the amount of labor required by UD. Rahmad Engineering. The method used in this study is a stopwatch time study (SWTS) which aims to measure the length of time it takes for workers to produce a product. After that, a forecasting of working time is carried out to determine the approximate number of workers in the future. The results of this study were obtained the standard production time of each type of product, namely 48.07 minutes per unit for coconut grate products, 42.46 minutes per unit for meat grinding products, 38.25 minutes per unit for coconut milk squeezing products. For the number of workers needed in July and August is 15 people, the month of sepetmber and october is 17 people, the months of November and December are 16 people. The results of working time optimization with the SWTS method can increase productivity in UD. Rahmad Teknik by setting the standard production time on each type of product and the optimal labor rate.UD. Rahmad Teknik merupakan sebuah usaha yang bergerak dalam bidang produksi peralatan industri. Dalam peoses produksinya, usaha ini mengalami permasalahan dalam pemenuhan permintaan konsumen. Hal ini dikarenakan pengelolaan sumber daya yang tidak maksimal. Pemilik usaha juga belum mengetahui waktu standar produksi yang dibutuhkan dan jumlah pekerja yang diperlukan. Tujuan Penelitian ini yaitu menentukan waktu standar dan jumlah tenaga kerja yang dibutuhkan oleh UD. Rahmad Teknik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah stopwatch time study (SWTS) yang bertujuan untuk mengukur lamanya waktu yang dibutuhkan pekerja dalam memproduksi sebuah produk. Setelah itu, dilakukan peramalan waktu kerja untuk menentukan perkiraan jumlah tenaga kerja di masa mendatang. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah di dapatkan waktu standar produksi dari setiap jenis produk yaitu 48,07 menit per unit untuk produk pemarut kelapa, 42,46 menit per unit untuk produk penggiling daging, 38,25 menit per unit untuk produk pemeras santan. Untuk jumlah tenaga kerja yang dibutuhkan pada bulan juli dan agustus adalah 15 orang, bulan sepetmber dan oktober adalah 17 orang, bulan november dan desember adalah 16 orang. Hasil optimasi waktu kerja dengan metode SWTS ini dapat meningkatkan produktifitas pada UD. Rahmad Teknik dengan menetapkan waktu standar produksi pada tiap jenis produknya dan jumah tenaga kerja yang optimal.

Abstract

Rice production has declined in the last 5 years, causing UD. Produce engaged in the rice business is feeling the impact. There are ongoing constraints regarding the estimated processing time of more than 400 minutes and complaints of the right strategy addressing this issue. The purpose of the study is to determine the rice business process strategy using Business Process Improvement. Research methods using quantitative and qualitative design of diagnostics. The instrument used is non-participant observation. Data used by stakeholder roles, process names, business task projects. Conducted 4-why evaluation, streamling, recommendations. The results of the study that supplier partnerships, Sp2 uses standardization for the code Up1 and Up2 uses streamling, Sp1.  The strategy carried out related to labor training, database creation using microsoft office, with Ms. Asses's product, In this contract bond it is necessary to convey about the expected quality subcriteria, the expected price subcriteria and the expected delivery subcriteria. Rules related to standard operating procedures need to be designed at each work site. Research contributions related to facilities, databases, and suppliers. Produksi padi yang menurun dalam waktu 5 tahun terakhir, menyebabkan UD. Hasil Bumi yang bergerak di bidang bisnis beras merasakan dampaknya. Terdapat kendala yang sedang terjadi mengenai estimasi waktu prosesnya lebih dari 400 menit dan keluhan strategi yang tepat mengatasi masalah ini. Tujuan penelitian untuk menentukan strategi proses bisnis beras menggunakan Business Process Improvement. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitatif dan kualitatif diagnostik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah observasi non- partisipant. Data yang dipakai peran stakeholder, nama proses, task proceess business. Dilakukan evaluasi 4-why, streamling, rekomendasi. Hasil penelitian bahwa supplier partnerships, Sp2 menggunakan standardization untuk kode Up1 dan Up2 menggunakan streamling, Sp1.  Strategi yang dilakukan terkait training tenaga kerja, Pembuatan database menggunakan microsoft office, dengan produk Ms. Asses, Didalam ikatan kontrak ini perlu disampaikan mengenai subkriteria mutu yang diharapkan, subkriteria harga yang diharapkan dan subkriteria pengiriman yang diharapkan. Aturan – aturan terkait standar operasional prosedur perlu di rancang disetiap lokasi kerja. Kontribusi penelitian terkait fasilitas, database, dan penyuplai.

Abstract

The right supplier selection is an important factor for PT. Central Turbo, which is currently facing problems related to the supplier selection system that is not accurate. The study aims to develop a decision support system for the selection of turbocharger suppliers. The method used is AHP-MOORA to measure the consistency of criteria and sub-criteria in determining the highest supplier ranking. The research procedure begins with the creation of a hierarchical structure, followed by the creation of an AHP matrix to determine the weight of the criteria, the calculation of the consistency index and ratio, the normalization of the matrix, and the determination of Yi/preference value in the MOORA analysis. The decision support system developed can help PT. Central Turbo in selecting the right turbocharger supplier. This system can evaluate supplier performance more objectively and efficiently, so that it can help the company to improve its competitiveness and customer satisfaction, by considering 3 criteria, namely product performance, supplier, and service. As a result, Fencheng Xindongli Turbocharger Co., Ltd was selected as the best supplier.

Abstract

The development of technology and the COVID-19 pandemic have changed the consumption trends of society. The culinary industry has been affected, but can survive by going online. The Pempek Fenny culinary industry still uses a manual system. This study builds a pempek order information system to improve the information system with various features and measure user satisfaction. The research method uses a mixed method with an action research approach. The population is theculinary industry owner and 6 of its customers purposively. The procedures carried out are problem identification, literature study collection, data collection, system testing, and system evaluation. This finding resulted in efficiency because some activities that were previously done manually can be done automatically by the system with a satisfaction of 3.7. The contribution achieved improves the performance of the culinary industry, the latest features of application development and ordering are more efficient and accurate

Abstract

Traffic congestion in Indonesian cities is a major problem, due to uneven mobility. The Jagir Wonokromo intersection, one of the busiest intersections in Surabaya, experiences traffic congestion during rush hour. This congestion can have a variety of negative impacts, such as air pollution and queuesat each intersection. This study analyzes the traffic congestion problems at the Jagir Wonokromo intersection and proposes the appropriate improvement scenario. A simulation design was developed to test three traffic congestion improvement scenarios at the Jagir Wonokromo intersection in Surabaya. The study sample was 40 vehicles that passed through during rush hour. The simulation results showed that scenario 3 is the most appropriate improvement scenario. This scenario successfully reduced the time in the system by 20.2% compared to the initial condition. The impact of scenario 3 is that traffic congestion at the intersection is reduced, but the travel time of vehicles from the DTC direction to Jalan Jagir Wonokromo also increases. Scenario 3 is considered to be in accordance with the conditions of the intersection and can be easily implemented. The study of traffic congestion at the Jagir Wonokromo intersection offers opportunities for the government and the public to address traffic congestion with effective simulation of improvement scenarios.

Abstract

Banana chips are one of the popular processed fruit products in foreign markets, such as in Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand. Research to improve optimal business processes. The research procedure reduced data through the analysis of interviews with five informants using BMC and LBMC to find the root of the problem as a guide. On improving business processes with the power of LBMC, the priority here is to find activities that are minimum mandatory to form value for customers. Revenue streams at LBMC include direct sales through its website or physical stores, wholesale partnerships with health food stores, gyms, and gyms, online marketplaces like Amazon or Shopee, as well as collaborations with airlines, hotels, and other hospitality businesses for in-flight snack options. This research contributes to the understanding of business process improvement in the food industry by providing practical insights in identifying customer segments, channels to reach them, cost structures, and revenue streams

Abstract

High demand for sandals at UD. Darmaji. However, production cycle time is still long. This study determines the number of employees needed to meet accurate production capacity demand. The study used a quantitative approach with a motion study approach. The study population was the entire activity at UD. Darmaji. The sample was 8 activities in the sandal production process. The research instruments were observation forms and stopwatches. Data were collected through observation and time measurement. The data were analyzed using the motion study method to calculate cycle time, allowance time, performance rating, standard time, employee prediction, and cost comparison. UD. Darmaji has enough production capacity to meet demand for the next 6 months. However, the production cycle time is still long, especially in the activity of attaching the strap. To meet demand for the next 1 month, UD. Darmaji can use alternative 2 with 14 regular time employees for 9 hours per day. This alternative is cheaper and can improve efficiency and production productivity

Abstract

Surabaya is the center of a growing manufacturing industry that always strives to improve the quality of its products. One company that faces serious problems is PT. BKI, which faces a high rate of innerbox defects with potential negative impact on product quality. The study used Six Sigma methodology to identify and address the root cause of innerbox defects within two months. The results of the analysis show that the main causes of innerbox defects include structuring, material, management, environmental problems, as well as improper assembly methods. The proposed solution involves the use of duplex-type cardboard materials, improved assembly techniques, regular machine maintenance, and environmental control. The use of stripping bands instead of duct tape on innerbox packaging is an effective improvement. The implementation of control for two months showed an increase in sigma value from 2.94 to 2.83. The Six Sigma approach is proven to provide a systematic analytical foundation for significant improvement. The results help PT. BKI in improving quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
