Abstract

This study aims to describe non-routine mathematics problem solving in relation to students' self-efficacy and math anxiety. We collect data from journal databases both national and international. The eligibility criteria are used with the keyword "non-routine mathematical problem solving" with intervals of the last 10 years. Based on the results of the synthesis, it was found that several important variables related to the topic were self-efficacy, reading comprehension, mathematic attitudes, think-aloud processes, mathematics anxiety, and truth-seeking. From these variables it was found that self-efficacy (self-confidence) and mathematics anxiety (anxiety mathematics) have an important role in solving non-routine mathematics problems

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the average difference in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who obtained the Geogebra-assisted Problem-Based Learning model better than students who obtained the direct learning model. This research uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental design methods. The research design used was the nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study is all grade X students of SMA N 1 Gebog for the 2022/2023 school year with the Purposive Sampling sampling technique. The sample used is 2 classes, class X E-2 is selected as an experimental class and will be applied Problem-Based Learning model assisted by Geogebra. Meanwhile, class X E-3 as a control class will be applied direct learning model. Data analysis techniques using prerequisite tests include normality tests, homogeneity tests. The hypothesis test uses an independent samples t-test. The results showed that the average ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who obtained the Geogebra-assisted Problem-Based Learning model was better than students who obtained the direct learning model

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a disease caused by a new type of virus called Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). Based on data up to April 9th 2020, confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Java are 6.78% of the total confirmed cases in Indonesia. Meanwhile, cases of death due to COVID-19 are 6.07% of the total cases of death in Indonesia. In handling it, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia classifies COVID-19 patients into 3 status levels, namely ODP, PDP and Confirmed. The results of the meta-analysis using the risk ratio with the Mantel-Haenszel fixed effect model obtained a pooled risk ratio for the PDP and ODP groups (RR = 33.66, 95% CI: 20.88-54.27), the confirmed and ODP groups (RR = 56.31, 95% CI: 32.07-98.87), and the confirmed and PDP groups (RR = 1.75, 95% CI: 1.2-2.53). The order of the group with the highest risk of death is Confirmed > PDP > ODP.

Abstract

North Sumatra State Islamic University is one of the State Universities in North Sumatra Medan which has implemented Single Tuition Fee (UKT). UKT is the name of a payment system that is currently in effect throughout the State Islamic Religious Colleges (PTKIN). In the UKT process, there are still problems, there are students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra whose parents' economy is classified as low but gets a high UKT group, while their parents' economy is high but gets a low UKT group. The variables used are father's education, mother's education, father's income, mother's income and number of parents' dependents. The UKT groups are UKT 1, UKT 2, UKT 3, UKT 4, UKT 5, UKT 6 and UKT 7. The accuracy of the performance vector from the classification of the support vector machine method using cross validation is 61.33%

Abstract

Infectious diseases are a problem that is still a challenge and has not been resolved in Indonesia. The number of infectious disease cases continues to increase every year in Indonesia. Infectious diseases that are still a problem in Indonesia include tuberculosis (TB), pneumonia and leprosy (Leprosy). Identification of infectious disease endemic areas is an important issue in the health sector, the average rate of people with physical disabilities and deaths originating from infectious diseases. Indonesia, as a country consisting of 34 provinces, including East Java as one of the provinces that has a high rate of infectious disease cases. Therefore, research was conducted using correspondence analysis which aimed to determine the pattern of infectious disease trends and grouping districts / cities in East Java Province based on similarities between the spread of disease sufferers in each district / city. This type of research uses quantitative methods with secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics of East Java Province. The results of correspondence analysis show that  the spread of pneumonia and tuberculosis in East Java  Province has a relative tendency to almost all regencies/cities in East Java, while the spread of leprosy is closer to Sampang Regency. From this research, it can be used to supervise and control infectious diseases in districts / cities in East Java Province, so that the government can adjust policy formulation and actions to prevent an increase in infectious disease cases in East Java

Abstract

Forecasting is a technique for estimating future data by looking at past data and current data. Admissions of new students at Tribuana Kalabahi University are carried out every year since the founding of the Tribuana Kalabahi University campus, in 2007, the number of new student admissions from year to year has experienced an upward trend, therefore forecasting is carried out using Single Exponential Smoothing. The amount of data from 2007 to 2022 is 16 data. The calculation results with Single Exponential Smnothing have the lowest MAPE value, namely 1.41005% with a value of α = 0.1, the number of new student admissions is 664 people

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning Approach assisted by Augmented Reality on the Ability to Solve Mathematical Problems at SMK Negeri 1 Lebong. This type of research was a Quasi Experiment which was carried out at Lebong 1 State Vocational School in class X for the 2022/2023 Academic Year with the research population being all of class X, totaling 88 people. Samples were taken by random sampling technique for class X Multimedia 1, totaling 22 people as the experimental class and X Multimedia 2, totaling 20 people as the control class. Data collection instruments were carried out through tests with data analysis techniques using MANOVA. The results showed that there were: (1) The effect of the Problem Based Learning approach with the help of Augmented Reality on the ability to solve mathematical problems. (1) The effect of the Augmented Reality Problem Based Learning approach on problem solving ability is 58.6%. (2) The achievement of mathematical problem-solving skills of class X Multimedia 1 students taught by AR-assisted PBL approach is higher than the class taught by conventional learning models

Abstract

This study aims to apply clustering techniques to time series data. Time series models can be formed for all research data objects, so many research objects need to be grouped so that the resulting model becomes more efficient. The object used in this study was data on Covid-19 sufferers from 27 regencies and cities in West Java Province. All objects were analyzed by time series to produce 27 models. All objects' data patterns and models have many similarities, so clustering can be done. Clustering models using the Ward method and the Piccolo dissimilarity measure. The optimum cluster uses the Hartigan and Ball indices to obtain 3 clusters

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine whether using the IMPROVE learning approach can improve students' ability to think critically mathematically. This experimental research used a pretest-posttest control group design. This research involved all students in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Peukan Baro. Two classes, class XI MIPA 1 and class XI MIPA 2, were selected as experimental and control samples. This study uses questions to test students' mathematical critical thinking skills. After the prerequisites for testing were met, the data were analyzed using an independent t-test at a significant level of 0.05. According to the results of data analysis, the value of tcount = 3.839, and the value of Sig. 2-tailed = 0.00043, and the Sig. 1-tailed = 0.000215, because the Sig. 1-tailed = 0.000215 < α = 0.05, which indicates that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Course Review Horay Model on the Problem-Solving Ability of Class X Students of SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City. This type of research uses Quasi Experiments. Data collection is done through tests. Data analysis used the Ancova test. The research sample was students at SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City class X MIPA 2 and X MIPA 5. The results showed that: (1) There was an effect of the Course Review Horay learning model on the problem-solving abilities of students in class X SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City by 31%. (2) There was an influence of the Course Review Horay Model on the problem-solving abilities of class X students at SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City after controlling for the covariate of students' initial ability of 38.5%. (3) The problem-solving ability achievement of class X students at SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City was taught using Learning the Course Review Horay model is better than classes taught by conventional learning
