Abstract

This study aims to describe the stages of student problem solving based on the Polya stages in terms of adversity quotient on integer material. Based on these objectives, this research is descriptive qualitative research. The data were collected from grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Karanganom who were selected by purposive sampling. The subjects selected in this study were 3 students, consisting of 1 student who was type AQ quitter, 1 student who was type AQ campers, and 1 student who typed AQ climbers. Data collection techniques used were AQ questionnaire, tests, interviews, and completed with documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, display data, and conclusion drawing/verification. The validity of the data used was technical triangulation. In this study, the QSR Nvivo software was used to help process and analyze research data. The results in this study indicate: 1) The quitters subject can understand the problem, is less able to prepare a resolution plan, is less able to solve problems according to the plan, and is less able to re-examine the results that have been obtained. 2) The campers subject can understand problems, able to plan resolution, able to solve problems, and less able to re-examine the results that have been obtained. 3) The climbers' subject was able to understand the problem, was able to plan the solution, was able to solve the problem according to the plan, and was able to re-examine the results that had been obtained

Abstract

Health insurance company have to determine claim reserve that’s suitable with the existing condition. There is three party that’s involved in the health insurance management, namely the policy holder, Admedika as the third party administration, and also the insurance company itself as the (insurer). When the policy holder obtained treatments whose financing is done through a health insurance, then the health insurance company have the obligation to finish the financial matters. Delays in payments from insurance companies to health facilities are caused, among others, by the administrative process. Thus, every claim submitted by the insured party to the insurance company will be settled in stages to the health facilities. The data presented from these conditions form a triangle matrix (run-off triangle) which then becomes the basis for estimating the amount of IBNR claims reserves. The Bornhuetter-Ferguson (BF) method involves the amount of premium that has become income for the company and calculates the Ultimate Claim value in estimating the amount of claim reserves. This method is the result of the development of the previous method, Chain-Ladder (CL), which only relies on historical data on claim payments. Premium calculations need to be involved in health insurance, because the insurance period is short, which is only one year. Insurance companies haven't had time to turn around the money to invest, so payment of claims will depend more on the premium that becomes income for the company (earned premium). The estimated claim reserve value is more suitable and robust than the CL method. Estimated claim reserves that occur in the 2nd event period amount to IDR50,658,714 with an estimated interval for the 2nd event period between IDR10,215,477 and IDR91,101,950

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop an Excel-based Correlation Analysis application that can be used by students, lecturers, and researchers as an alternative that can be used to carry out tests by making it easier for users to analyze and draw conclusions. This research was conducted using the Research and Development (R&D) method to produce products through a development process with a 4D development model which includes Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. The instruments used were expert validation sheets and student questionnaires. Based on the assessment of the application developed, the results of the expert validation obtained an average value of 3.80 or a percentage of 94.44% which is included in the very valid category. The results of a limited scale trial of 5 final year students showed results with an average percentage of 93.5% which was included in the very practical category and deserved to be disseminated. Furthermore, the application is implemented directly to real problems with a case study of the effect of population growth on the unemployment rate in the city of Medan and btained the result that the correlation between the effect of population growth (X) and the number of open unemployment (Y) in the city of Medan is very strong, where the rxy value is 0.82 and the effect between the X variable on the Y variable is 66.7377% with a ttable value of 2.78 and tcount of 3 so that the correlation is significant.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze and improve students' mathematical critical thinking skills in terms of learning styles in class X MIPA 1 students at SMAN 9 Depok. The research method used in this research is analytical method. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. Instruments for collecting data in this study were in the form of a learning style questionnaire and a test of critical thinking skills. All students of class X MIPA 1 were identified with the type of learning style by using learning styles and critical thinking skills tests taken by 6 students representing each type of learning style of 2 students. The test is carried out on the Absolute Value material. Furthermore, the analysis of all data is carried out with the following steps: data reduction stage, data presentation stage, and conclusions. The results showed that: 1) students with visual learning styles were able to overcome indicators at the stage of providing simple explanations and arranging tactics but were less able to meet indicators at the inference stage, 2) students with auditory learning styles were less able to reach the stage of providing simple explanations but were able to in arranging strategies-tactics and inference stages, 3) students with kinesthetic learning styles are able to fulfill all indicators at the stage of giving simple explanations, setting strategies-tactics, and inferences

Abstract

Investment is one of the development factors in economic activity, there are two basic things that investor must know before making investment decisions, namely: returns and risk. One of the statistical methods to calculate the maximum loss in investment is Value at Risk (VaR). this study aims to calculate VaR on the closing stock price data of Pt. Gudang Garam TBK for the daily period starting from 4 January 2021 to 30 December 2021. Log return data is model by ARIMA. The ARIMA model contains a heteroscedasticity effect so it is inadequate for modelling, one of the models that can overcome the heteroscedasticity problem is the ARCH-GARCH model. Forecasting the volatility of the data is done using the ARCH-GARCH model. The results show that the GARCH (1,1) is the best model for predicting volatility. Volatility is predicted for the next 30 days, after the volatility forecasting results are obtained, the VaR calculation can be continued. Based on the results, it shows that volatility increases over time, which means that the risk that investor will accept will be higher and the returns will also be greater

Abstract

The Human Development Index is one approach to measuring the success rate of human development. Central Java Province is one of the provinces that experienced an increase in the human development index in 2022. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the regression model used and the factors that affect the human development index in Central Java Province in 2022. Some of the factors used in this study are life expectancy, average years of schooling, expected years of schooling and adjusted per capita expenditure. The method used in this research is multiple linear analysis, parameter significance test, and classical assumption test. By using the human development index as the response variable (Y), life expectancy (X1), average years of schooling (X2), expected years of schooling (X3) and adjusted per capita expenditure (X4) as predictor variables. From the results of the analysis that has been done, the equation Y = 6.55 + 0.4626X₁ + 1.341X₂ + 0.8971X₃ + 0.0008329X₄ +e is obtained. This shows that there is a relationship between the human development index and life expectancy, average years of schooling, expected years of schooling and adjusted per capita expenditure. The classical assumption test, namely the normality test, multicollinearity test, autocorrelation test and heteroscedasticity test, shows that the regression model can be used

Abstract

This study aims to develop ethnomathematics teaching materials through engklek with game-based learning on students’ creative thinking skills. Research and development using the ADDIE model which is modified into ADD (Analysis, Design, dan Develop) was carried out with data collection techniques were observation, questionnaires, and documentation, while the data analysis techniques were descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the feasibility score was 84.5% in the feasible category, the readability score was 81.5% in the very easy to understand category, and the student response score was 79% in the positive category. This study concludes that ethnomathematics teaching materials through engklek with game-based learning on students' creative thinking abilities are appropriate to be used as a medium for learning mathematics for students at the SMP/MTs level. The suggestions in this study are to develop better teaching materials and test their implementation on a wider scope in future research

Abstract

In the industrial sector, problems are often found in optimizing production results in order to obtain maximum profits. Pia home industry Mrs. Sandra has a problem in maximizing profits, namely finding solutions to produce pia with the optimal amount. The purpose of this study was to determine the amount of production and optimal profit obtained in the production of pia in the home industry using the branch and bound method and to determine the results of the sensitivity analysis to changes in production components. The results of the analysis show that using the branch and bound method, the home industry pia Mrs. Sandra gets an optimal profit of Rp. 2,078,557 per month by producing 1,666 pia chocolate, 1,041 pia temo, and 800 pia peanuts per month. The results of the sensitivity analysis show that profits will remain in optimal conditions if Mrs. Sandra's pia home industry follows the changes that occur in production components based on the upper bound and lower bound according to the output produced using Lingo 19.0 software

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out whether the TS-TS cooperative learning paradigm can have an impact on students' understanding of the subject matter of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV). Only the posttest control group was used in this study design. There may be up to 25 students in class VIII B, the experimental class, and there may be up to 25 students in class VIII C, the control class, who serve as research subjects. randomly selected from three classes. The average control class mastery score was 78.2, while the experimental class was 82.6. Based on the results of the hypothesis evaluation, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because t_count = 2.156 and t_table = 1.677, and t_count > t_table. Based on the research findings, students who use the cooperative model type two stay two stray (TS-TS) in the material Linear Equation System with Variables (SPLDV) learn more than students who use the direct instruction model (direct instruction)

Abstract

This study aims to find out: 1) The significant influence of the Superitem learning model on the mathematical problem solving ability of MTSN 3 Cilegon students; 2) How is the mathematical problem solving ability of students given the Superitem learning model based on the Newman procedure. The population in this study is all grade VIII students in MTsN 3 Cilegon for the 2021/2022 academic year in the even semester consisting of 6 classes. The sample was randomly selected, namely class VIII B as the experimental class and VIII D as the control class. The hypothesis test used is the T Test to determine the average difference and the correlation test to determine the effect of variable x with variable y. The results of the hypothesis show that 1) There is a significant influence of the Superitem learning model on students' mathematical problem solving ability by 62% and 38% others are influenced by other factors; 2) Students' mathematical problem-solving skills based on Newman's procedure, there are still many students who do not do the stages of writing answers or re-checking answers. In addition, students often find it difficult when transforming problems and solving problems
