Abstract

Reading the Bible is an engaging activity that significantly benefits a child's life. However, the advancement of digitalization has become an obstacle, with children preferring gadgets over the Bible. This is where the role of parents becomes crucial in rebuilding the habit of reading the Bible. This study examines the role of parents in establishing the habit of reading the Bible to enhance the spiritual intelligence of Christian children. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected from relevant journals and compiled to strengthen the analysis. Findings indicate that the habit of reading the Bible not only reinforces the child's faith foundation but also teaches essential moral and ethical values. Effective parental communication and support have been shown to strengthen emotional bonds and boost children's confidence. Good spiritual education helps children develop critical thinking skills, empathy, and mental resilience and provides guidance in life decision-making. This study emphasizes the crucial role of parents in spiritual education for the better future of their children.

Then the researchers found a result where the superbook provided interesting programs of God's word starting from digital memorized verses and God's word with interesting and exciting animations. This brought children's emotions to see that the stories of God's word were presented maturely and beautifully.

Abstract

Child development in the postmodern era faces unique challenges, primarily due to the plurality and relativity dominating the understanding of truth. In this period, children are confronted with various perspectives that often contradict, leading to confusion about their identity and values. Christian parents and educators need to play a more significant role in instilling values based on biblical truth. In this context, the love of Christ becomes an unshakable centre in nurturing children. Through the unconditional love exemplified by Christ, children are taught to understand that they are valuable in the eyes of God, regardless of their background or abilities. Educators must use relevant and engaging methods, such as stories and parables, to convey moral and spiritual values. Moreover, positive interactions between parents and children through daily activities, such as playing and listening to stories, aid in children's emotional and social development. In formal education, teachers must integrate character and moral development into their curriculum, working alongside families to instil values of honesty, responsibility, and hard work. Through a holistic approach involving families, schools, and communities, children can grow in a supportive and loving environment, preparing them to face the challenges of the postmodern era with solid faith and good character.

Abstract

Christian Religious Education (CRE) within the family plays a central role in shaping the attitudes of children aged 6–12 years. At the stage of concrete-operational cognitive development, children begin to understand values, rules, and role models instilled in everyday life. This study aims to analyze the strategies of Christian families in nurturing children’s attitudes through the teaching of Scripture, exemplary living, spiritual discipline, and loving communication. The research method employed is a literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings indicate that CRE in the family significantly contributes to the formation of Christian character in children, particularly in aspects of obedience, empathy, honesty, and responsibility. This article recommends that Christian families consistently practice faith-based habits and foster healthy relationships so that children’s attitudes grow in harmony with Christian values.

Abstract

Character education has become a crucial issue in the context of modern education, where schools are expected not only to produce intellectually competent graduates but also individuals with strong character. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Christian Religious Education (CRE) curriculum and teaching methods on character formation among students in Christian secondary schools. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects were CRE teachers and students selected purposively, while data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model with source triangulation techniques to ensure validity. The findings indicate that the CRE curriculum has a significant influence on the development of students’ moral, spiritual, and social character. Participatory, contextual, and project-based teaching methods proved to be more effective in internalizing character values compared to lecture-based methods. The synergy between curriculum and teaching methods serves as a key factor in realizing transformative character education, enabling students not only to understand Christian values conceptually but also to embody them in daily life. The study recommends strengthening school policies, enhancing teacher competencies, and providing supportive facilities to ensure that character education based on CRE can be implemented more optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of competence and professionalism of Sunday School teachers in addressing the challenges of children’s faith education in the digital era. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and documentation in local churches. The findings reveal that Sunday School teachers possess adequate biblical knowledge, yet their pedagogical skills and use of creative media remain limited. Their professionalism is reflected in high dedication, service commitment, and spiritual integrity, but weaknesses persist in lesson preparation and classroom management. The main challenges identified include the lack of formal training, the absence of a structured curriculum, insufficient learning facilities, and the influence of digital culture on children’s learning patterns. The implications highlight the need for systematic and continuous church-led training, including pedagogical development, media provision, and regular teacher evaluation. Enhancing teacher competence and professionalism is thus crucial to ensuring the effectiveness of children’s faith education.
