Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in building awareness of this issue, although its comprehensive implementation in schools has not yet been fully integrated. This study aims to investigate the impact of ecological education through socialization and tree-planting activities on students' understanding of climate change, as part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The research method employed was a pre-experiment with a single-group pretest-posttest design, involving 38 students from SMP Negeri 5 Mojokerto. The results showed a significant increase in understanding following the activities. The learning model that combines theoretical and practical aspects proved to be effective in fostering environmental awareness and providing a more contextual learning experience. This ecology-based activity not only strengthens students' environmental literacy but also aligns with the SDGs, particularly those related to quality education, action on climate change, and conservation of terrestrial ecosystems. Therefore, schools play a crucial role in instilling ecological awareness from an early age through sustainable education that addresses the challenges of climate change.

Abstract

Globalization has increased the development of various aspects of religious and cultural life in Magetan Regency. The increasing era of globalization is accompanied by the continued advancement of Islamic education, as well as customs that need to be preserved. This research focuses on Javanese customs, specifically the Ledug Sura tradition, during the Islamic New Year celebration, with a particular emphasis on Magetan Regency. The purpose of this research is to determine the importance of religious values in this tradition, which can be incorporated into Islamic education while also respecting the customs that exist within that culture. The method employed is a qualitative case study approach, which involves directly observing this tradition in action. The results of the study indicate that the Ledug Sura tradition serves not only as a means of celebration but also as an important medium for disseminating Islamic educational values among the local community. The impact of the Ledug Sura tradition in Magetan, accompanied by Islamic teachings within it, ensures that the younger generation does not forget their customs and remains committed to their teachings. The conclusion of this research highlights the importance of Islamic teachings in customs, especially in Javanese culture in Magetan Regency, as well as the spread of its traditions.

Abstract

This research examines how applicable laws in Indonesia protect tourists with disabilities in Dieng Tourism Destinations. Although there are many regulations made in Indonesia to protect the rights of people with disabilities, their implementation in the tourism sector is often not optimal. This research aims to determine the extent to which Indonesian law protects tourists with disabilities in Dieng Tourism Destinations.  The rights of persons with disabilities have been regulated in various laws, such as Law Number 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities and Law Number 10 of 2009 concerning Tourism, as well as Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. The research methods used in this study were the empirical legal method and qualitative research. Fieldwork was conducted at the Dieng tourism destinations, and interviews were conducted with various stakeholders, such as the site managers, tourists with disabilities, and the local government of Wonosobo Regency, involving five respondents. The results of the study indicate that, although there are laws regulating the rights of people with disabilities, they have not been effectively implemented in practice. Several tourist sites do not yet meet all accessibility requirements. As part of respecting human rights and promoting sustainable tourism development, the local government, tourism industry stakeholders, and the community must work to make Dieng tourism inclusive and disability-friendly.

Abstract

Spatial thinking is essential in geography learning for understanding human-space relationships, yet conventional instruction often fails to develop higher-order spatial reasoning. This study examines the effectiveness of a geospatially integrated Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ spatial thinking skills, while accounting for learning styles as a moderating variable. A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control-group design was employed, involving 425 tenth-grade students from SMAN 1 Batu. Two purposively selected classes served as the experimental (geospatial PjBL using Google Earth) and control (lecture-based instruction) groups. Results showed that the geospatially integrated PjBL model significantly improved students' spatial thinking abilities (p < 0.001). The most substantial improvement occurred in the Tools of Representation dimension, followed by the Concepts of Space and the Cognitive Processes to Evaluate Spatiality dimensions. Moreover, students with kinesthetic and audio-visual learning styles showed greater improvement than those with purely auditory or visual preferences. These findings suggest that integrating geospatial technology into PjBL strengthens spatial visualization and cognitive processes through active, contextual experiences. This study contributes by integrating learning styles as a moderating variable into geospatial PjBL, an underexplored area.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of traditional cuisine as a medium for lived citizenship in the formation of national character. Utilizing a qualitative approach with a focused ethnography design, this research was conducted at warung pecel (traditional food stalls) in Madiun City from December 2025 to January 2026. Data were gathered through focused observation, in-depth interviews, and visual documentation, which were then analyzed inductively through the lenses of the sociology of citizenship and public space. The results indicate that warung pecel functions as an egalitarian and inclusive civic space imbued with citizenship values. Social practices such as communal seating regardless of social class, the ethics of "geser-geseran", fair queuing, the use of pincuk, and informal public discourse manifest social citizenship, cultural nationalism, and ecological awareness in everyday life. This study concludes that citizenship and national character are not solely constructed through formal education and legalistic approaches, but also through grounded, repetitive cultural practices. The implications of this research underscore the need to reconceptualize learning resources for Pancasila and Civic Education by leveraging local cultural spaces as social laboratories for citizenship.

Abstract

AI-based musicalization media were developed as an alternative learning method that integrates social studies material in the form of songs, supported by artificial intelligence technology. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of AI-based musicalization media on students' motivation and learning outcomes at SMPN 1 Donomulyo. This study was motivated by the suboptimal use of interactive learning media, which led to low student motivation and learning outcomes. The study used a quantitative, nonequivalent control-group design. The research subjects were students of class IX A as the experimental class and class IX B as the control class. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire and an essay test on social studies learning outcomes, and analyzed using a MANOVA. Based on the Multivariate Test table, an F value of 45.562 was obtained, with a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that AI-based musicalization media have a simultaneous effect on students' motivation and social studies learning outcomes. This finding confirms that AI media is recommended as an alternative social studies learning method in line with the development of educational technology.

Abstract

Previous studies on the Kayori Ceremony of the Pendau Tribe have tended to focus on linguistic and literary analysis, leaving a research gap in the perspective of Civic Education. This study aims to fill this gap by exploring the cultural values within the Kayori Ceremony and its unique contribution to the formation of civic culture in Siweli Village. Using a descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with 8 informants (traditional leaders, village officials, and youth), and documentation. The novelty of this research reveals that the Kayori Ceremony is not merely a mystical ritual but also functions as a "social laboratory" that internalizes the values of cooperation, religiosity, and social harmony as the foundation of local civic culture. Preservation challenges include internal factors, such as traditional leaders' commitment, as well as external factors, such as modernization. Efforts to preserve it through value transmission to the younger generation represent a form of civic responsibility. This study concludes that the internalization of Kayori strengthens civic identity and social integration within the framework of local wisdom, aligning with the pillars of Pancasila democracy.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of political ethics in the thought of Abu Hamid al-Ghazali and its relevance to contemporary governance discourse. The research is motivated by the increasing crisis of political morality, corruption, abuse of power, and the separation between ethics and politics in modern political systems. Using a qualitative library research method with a normative-philosophical approach, this study analyzes Al-Ghazali’s major works concerning leadership, justice, authority, and the relationship between religion and state. The findings demonstrate that Al-Ghazali viewed politics as an ethical instrument aimed at realizing public welfare (maṣlaḥah), justice, social harmony, and political stability. According to Al-Ghazali, religion serves as the moral foundation of society, while political authority serves as its guardian, maintaining order and preventing social chaos. Ethical leadership, therefore, must be grounded in justice, responsibility, spirituality, and public accountability. This study also finds that Al-Ghazali’s political ethics remain relevant in addressing contemporary governance challenges, particularly in promoting moral integrity and social justice. This study offers a normative model of political ethics integrating moral-spiritual values with governance principles. Consequently, Al-Ghazali’s thought provides an important ethical framework for developing a more humane, just, and morally responsible political order in the modern era.
