Abstract

Dalam era postmodern, ilustrator cenderung mengedepankan kebebasan dalam mengekspresikan diri dalam berkarya, mereka cenderung tidak ingin terpaku pada suatu kaidah atau tatanan standar yang berlaku. Monez merupakan seorang ilustrator dengan pemikiran postmodern yang khas. Ilustrasi karya Monez kerap tampil dengan objek-objek fantasi yang dideformasi dari imajinasi atas bentuk atau peristiwa yang pernah dilihat maupun dialami sebelumnya. Gaya ilustrasi khas Monez cenderung menampilkan objek dengan wujud imajinatif dalam bentuk yang distorsi. Monez adalah cerminan seorang postmodernis dengan metode berpikir intitutional. Ilustrasi bertema rangda merupakan karya Monez yang sangat kental dengan nuansa postmodern. Ilustrasi yang diciptakan dengan 3 seri, pertama kali di publikasikan kepada publik pada Ajang Popcon Asia 2015 dalam media poster dan postcard. Pengaruh postmodern pada ilustrasi rangda, terlihat pada penggayaan-penggayaan yang diberikan pada unsur visualnya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini membantu menjelaskan permasalahan konsep, estetika dan makna ilustrasi rangda karya Monez sebagai sebuah karya seni berlatarbelakang postmodern. Fokus penelitian ini adalah memahami konsep, idiom estetik serta makna yang terdapat pada ilustrasi rangda karya Monez. Untuk itu, peneliti merumuskan beberapa permasalahan penelitian sebagai berikut: 1). Bagaimana konsep yang diterapkan pada ilustrasi rangda karya Monez ?; 2). Bagaimana estetika postmodern dari ilustrasi rangda karya Monez ?; dan 3). Apakah makna yang terkandung pada ilustrasi rangda karya Monez ?. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Data primer yang digunakan untuk menunjang penelitian ini diperoleh dari studi lapangan, wawancara dengan Monez sebagai informan utama. Untuk melengkapi data primer, peneliti memperoleh informasi berbagai sumber berupa buku, jurnal ilmiah, laporan penelitian, dan sumber kepustakaan lainnya. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan teori estetika postmodern dan teori semiotika. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa ilustrasi rangda karya Monez menerapkan konsep imajinatif dalam penciptaannya. Konsep imajinatif diwujudkan melalui penggayaan berlebih pada visualisasi bentuk ilustrasinya. Di dalam postmodern, penggayaan merupakan ciri dari idiom camp.Makna yang muncul dari ilustrasi rangda karya Monez sebagai sebuah karya dengan penggambaran realita secara berlebihan (hiperealitas), antara lain: makna ekonomi, makna budaya dan makna ekspresi.In the postmodern era, illustrators do not prioritize freedom in expressing themselves in the work, they do not want to be fixated on a standard rule or standard order. Monez is an illustrator with distinctive postmodern thought. The illustrations of Monez’s work often come with fantasy objects deformed from imagination or forms never seen before. The typical illustration style Monez likes to display objects with imaginative shapes in distorted form. Monez is a reflection of a postmodernist with the think intitutional method. Rangda-themed illustrations are Monez’s highly viscous work with postmodern nuances. Illustrations created with 3 series, first published to the public at Popcon Asia 2015 Event in posters and postcard media. Postmodern influences on illustrations rangda, seen in penggayaan-given on the visual element. Therefore, this study helps to explain the concept, aesthetic and meaning of illustrations rangda Monez works as a work of art postmodern background The focus of this research is understanding the concepts, aesthetic idioms and meanings that exist in the illustrations rangda by Monez. For that, the researchers formulate some questions as follows: 1). How does the concept applied to Monez’s illustration rangda? 2). How is the postmodern aesthetic of Monez’s illustration rangda? And 3). What is the significance of Monez’s illustration rangda?. This research is a qualitative research. The primary data used to support this research is the result of field studies, interviews with Monez as key informants. To complement the primary data, researchers obtained information on various sources of books, scientific journals, research reports, and other literary sources. The data obtained are then analyzed by postmodern aesthetic theory and semiotics theory. The result of this research is the illustration rangda by Monez applying imaginative concept in the making. The imaginative concept is manifested through excessive styling on the visualization of its illustrative form. In postmodern, styling is the hallmark of camp idiom. The significance of Monez’s illustration ranges as a work with exaggerated portrayal of reality (hypereality), among others: economic meaning, cultural meaning and the meaning of expression.

Abstract

The Bali Provincial Government through PERGUB (Governor Regulation) Number 97 of 2018 has regulated the Limitation of Disposable Waste Generation. The implementation of these regulations has been implemented among Small and Medium Industries (IKM) that produce Balinese souvenirs. The IKM sector has begun to switch to using bamboo packaging, which is commonly used to package banten pejati (Balinese traditional offerings) sold in traditional markets. However, this condition causes the appearance of food packaging designs that package Balinese souvenirs to look uniform, lacking a touch of local Balinese culture that can be used as an identity for Bali's superior products branding to tourists. This creation aims to design bamboo packaging as Balinese souvenir packaging which has the concept of eco-friendly design. The research method was used to formulate the motif design concept and the method of creation to design the bamboo packaging design by adopting the woven bamboo technique at the bamboo craft center in Bali. The novelty of this bamboo packaging design can be seen in the motif design inspired by Geringsing Cemplong weaving motif which is formed with the woven bamboo technique. This motif has never existed before and is able to represent the identity of the local Balinese culture. The color material used as paint is a natural color material. Derived from mixing mango leaves and strobilanthes/indigo leaves through an environmentally friendly process to produce a green color. The creation of environmentally friendly bamboo packaging is expected to inspire woven-bamboo craftsmen to start switching to environmentally friendly products that are safe to use in food packaging.

Abstract

Desa Temesi merupakan salah satu desa yang berada di Kecamatan Gianyar, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali. Desa Temesi merupakan salah satu yang menjadi desa binaan PKK Provinsi Bali dengan tema “Aku Hatinya PKK” dan “Desa Peduli Gigi (Deligi)” menuju Bali Bebas Karies tahun 2030. Pada tanggal 15 maret 2023 telah dilaksanakan pembukaan melukis mural yang dihadiri oleh dosen Program Studi Desain Komunikasi Visual dan dekan Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain, Institut Seni Indonesia Denpasar. Pelaksanaan melukis mural ini dimulai dari tanggal 15 sampai 24 maret, selama 10 hari. Tujuan dari program mural ini adalah untuk memperindah dan menambah wawasan masyarakat tentang potensi yang ada di Desa Temesi. Tema besar dari mural yang akan dibuat adalah “Mural Temesi Mewali ka Guru” (kembali ke jati diri untuk membangun ekonomi Desa Temesi). Tema ini teebagi menjadi tiga subtema yaitu karang desa, karang awak, dan karang umah. Karang desa memiliki arti mengangkat potensi-potensi yang ada dan dimiliki oleh Desa Temesi seperti berbagai tumbuhan yang unik, kehidupan masyarakat, lingkungan, obyek wisata, dan sebagainya yang digambarkan dalam mural. Mural dapat diartikan sebagai cara menggambar atau melukis diatas permukaan luas yang bersifat permanen lainnya. Tahapan kegiatan ini adalah persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Mural diharapkan dapat memperindah Desa.

Abstract

PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk. Bali Branch has the aim of introducing the company's image through the Grand Opening of Alfamart stores in various areas of Bali so that it is present and affordable closer to consumers. Currently the growth of Alfamart Bali Branch in opening outlets in every corner of Bali is increasing, one of which is the Grand Opening of Alfamart Gunung Sanghyang 270 on Jl. Gunung Sanghyang, Kel. Kerobokan Kaja, Kec. North Kuta, Kab. Badung, Bali which was held on October 18, 2023. So the role of a Visual Communication Design (DKV) student who can design promotional media by applying the concepts or theories that have been learned while participating in learning on campus is needed. By conducting interviews, observation, and documentation methods to obtain data that helps in carrying out real projects such as the Grand Opening of Alfamart Gunung Sanghyang 270 store, promotional media can be used to expand the target market and build public awareness of the existence of the nearest Alfamart.

Abstract

Several years ago, games were associated with playing outside with friends, going on adventures, and doing physical activities that improved children's motor skills. However, today video games are better known than traditional games, with fun applications that can be played on various devices. The world is developing; 2D visuals are still used with more impressive animations and brilliant colours that are pleasing to the eye, but the new visual form, namely 3D, is no less interesting. Various ideas from digital game producers are expressed in visual form in the form of 2D and 3D, but as time goes by 3D visuals are gaining a wider audience. PT. Miracle Group Indonesia, which was founded in 2014, empowers 3D Artists to design various 3D models with realistic, stylized, and cartoon styles. Currently, PT. Miracle Group Indonesia is in the game development stage, Battle of Guardians which has been launched on the Steam platform on PC. Apart from Battle of Guardians, PT. Miracle Group Indonesia is also in the development stage of various new video games; Eclipse of the Undead is one of them. Eclipse of the Undead is a video game with 3D visuals that takes the player as the main character in a post-pandemic world that has filled the world with zombies and monsters. To increase knowledge in character design with 3D visual models and as proof that Indonesian children can also compete and are indeed capable of creating 3D models/assets like other countries, this writing is expected to provide significant new knowledge.

Abstract

Bali dikenal luas atas warisan budayanya yang kaya dan kearifan lokal yang unik, dengan arak memiliki peran sentral dalam budaya Bali sebagai minuman tradisional berasal dari pertanian lokal. Buku visual ini mengeksplorasi peran arak sebagai sumber penghidupan di Bali, membahas produksi, distribusi, dan dampaknya pada masyarakat setempat. Buku ini merinci jejak produksi arak di Bali dan warisan budayanya yang diturunkan dari generasi ke generasi. Gambar dan ilustrasi dalam buku menggambarkan teknik tradisional dalam pembuatan arak. Selain itu, buku ini menjelaskan peran ekonomi arak di Bali, dengan fotografi dan gambar yang menggambarkan arak sebagai komoditas penting yang diperdagangkan secara lokal, memberikan mata pencaharian bagi berbagai orang. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dalam analisis, dengan narasi dalam buku yang menjelaskan informasi historis, kultural, dan sosial tentang arak, serta peranannya dalam upacara adat dan kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat Bali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa arak bukan hanya minuman beralkohol biasa, melainkan juga simbol kearifan lokal dan identitas budaya Bali. Narasi dalam buku dengan cermat menggambarkan kompleksitas nilai-nilai dalam tradisi arak, termasuk pengetahuan lokal, konsumsi yang bijak, dan upaya pelestariannya dalam menghadapi modernisasi dan regulasi pemerintah. Buku ini memberikan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang arak sebagai proses pembuatan, distribusi, dan aspek sosio-kultural, berfungsi sebagai sumber pengetahuan berharga bagi pembaca yang tertarik memahami peran arak dalam kehidupan manusia. Selain itu, buku ini diharapkan dapat menginspirasi upaya pelestarian tradisi dan promosi kebijakan berkelanjutan untuk menjaga aspek budaya berharga ini dalam masyarakat yang terus berubah di era modern.

Abstract

The background of this study arose from the need to identify and overcome barriers to understanding crucial concepts in the human circulatory system. This study aims to describe the profile of students misconception about the blood circulatory system and their causes in MIN-Kota Pontianak consisting of MIN 1 Pontianak City, MIN 2 West Pontianak, MIN 3 Southeast Pontianak and MIN 1 Filial East Pontianak. The research method used a descriptive quantitative approach with a population of all grade VI students. Sampling was done with a proportionally stratified random sampling technique. Data collected using two-tier tests and semi-structured interviews. The research showed that misconception rate in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah throughout Pontianak City is 47.3%. Results also showed that students' misconception profile consists of: a) incorrect understanding of the role of the lungs. b) The function of the foyer and the chambers of the heart. c) incorrect understanding of the difference in the function of blood vessels in the heart and throughout the body. d) incorrect understanding of the role of capillary vessels in the circulatory system. The causes of misconceptions are: a) Inaccurate or inappropriate sources of information, b) The lack of clarity of concepts in the delivery of the material, c) The continuation of the previous class's understanding, d) Random answers or guessing also play a role in the occurrence of misconceptions.

Abstract

Batur Village is located in the Kintamani hilly area of ​​Bangli Regency. The history of Batur Village is influenced by the frequent eruptions of ancient Batur. It is estimated that the first eruption of ancient Mount Batur occurred 29,300 years ago, starting with the spewing of volcanic material as far as 84 kilometers, forming the first caldera. A series of eruptions occurred which resulted in beautiful cliffs along the road between Besakih and Penelokan. Its beauty attracts domestic and foreign tourists, but not many people know that Batur Village has spiritual tourism among its many potentials. With the emergence of the trend of religious tourism on the island of Bali, the fact that Batur Village has many holy places makes it have a very big opportunity. Through this research, the author created an animation in an effort to promote Batur Village as a Spiritual Tourism Destination. The creation method used in designing visual communication media for the Promotion of Batur Village as a Spiritual Tourism Destination with the Tri Hita Karana Concept is the design thinking method which is divided into three stages, namely inspiration, conception (ideation) and realization (implementation).

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis relevansi dan makna dari desain baliho Pesta Kesenian Bali (PKB) dalam mencerminkan konsep Sat Kerthi Loka Bali, sebuah filosofi yang menekankan keseimbangan spiritual dan ekologis dalam kehidupan masyarakat Bali. Sebagai media publikasi, baliho PKB berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai sarana promosi acara budaya tetapi juga sebagai medium visual untuk menyampaikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang tertanam dalam Sat Kerthi Loka Bali. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis semiotik terhadap elemen-elemen visual, seperti warna, simbol, dan tipografi pada desain baliho. Data diperoleh melalui studi pustaka dan observasi pada beberapa baliho PKB yang dipublikasikan dalam periode 2019–2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain baliho PKB secara konsisten mengusung simbol-simbol budaya dan religius yang mendukung visi Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali, yaitu menjaga kesucian dan keharmonisan alam Bali. Melalui penggunaan simbol-simbol khas Hindu-Bali, warna-warna natural, dan bentuk visual yang mencerminkan filosofi Tri Hita Karana, baliho PKB berfungsi sebagai perwujudan nilai spiritual dan identitas budaya Bali. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya peran desain komunikasi visual dalam memperkuat ideologi pelestarian budaya dan ekologi melalui media publikasi.

Abstract

The design of promotional media for Sahadewa Resort and Spa aims to increase brand awareness in the midst of intense competition in the hospitality industry in Ubud. As a favorite tourist destination, Ubud has attractions in the form of natural beauty, cultural arts, and customs that attract domestic and foreign tourists. However, the mismatch between the hotel's great potential and the low utilization of effective promotional media to reach a wider audience can reduce its attractiveness and exposure in the highly competitive hospitality market. Therefore, a promotional media in the form of a flyer with a minimalist visual design was designed. This flyer design has a natural serenity concept that carries a minimalist, simple, clean and elegant style with attractive visual elements. The use of bright colors, typography and strategic placement of elements to maximize promotional messages. The flyer design process involves design principles such as balance, unity, contrast, rhythm, and proportion that help to create an aesthetic and communicative design. The data collection methods used are interview, observation, literature study and documentation. The results of this promotional media design are expected to strengthen the position of Sahadewa Resort and Spa in the Ubud hospitality market. Increase attractiveness in the eyes of tourists, and expand the reach of promotion through effective media. Accordingly, this hotel promotional media design discusses the importance of visual communication design in promoting tourist destinations and how design elements can contribute to the effectiveness of the message given to the audience.
