Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the sustainability strategy of Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Cirebon West Java in implementing the sustainability commitment of Heidelbergcement Group 2030 (SC2030) which contains long-term commitments and targets of the group including the company until 2030. Research Methodology:  This study used a qualitative case study approach. As a research instrument, I played an active role in collecting data through direct interaction with informants to conduct interviews and observations and analyze available documents. The object of research or social situations in this study focuses on the activities of people in a particular place. Results: The findings obtained from this study are that community empowerment programs implemented sustainably through Bilikom CSR are key elements in building national economic resilience. Through Bilikom's CSR, companies can achieve development goals at the village level. However, in practice, sustainability strategies become good neighbors through Bilikom's CSR programs, with occasional misperceptions in designing and implementing programs that have been prepared together. Limitations: The limitations of this study include social, environmental, and economic aspects. Contributions: This research is expected to contribute to the development of a new science. This research is also very useful for the government in developing and managing an ideal communication system to implement community empowerment programs Novelty: The novelty of this study is that strengthening SDGs in villages can create a positive impact in reducing economic inequality, improving the quality of life of the community, and supporting sustainable natural resource management.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to design integrative transcendental planning based on exploring phenomena in Rawabogo Village. Since 2011, Rawabogo Village has been designated as a tourism village with customs and cultural heritage. However, the development of tourism village planning has yet to show significant progress. Research Methodology:  Descriptive qualitative with a symbolic and critical hermeneutic approach, which produces integrative transcendental planning. The data is collected through remote observation and understanding of the information unit. Results: The results provide an explanation and understanding that Rawabogo Village has the potential to be developed as a tourism village with the oral traditions of the Mount Nagara Padang site and local cultural life as the main attraction. This attraction must be aligned with stakeholder planning and understanding by sustainably implementing economic, innovation, cultural landscape, and community strategies. This strategy will have implications for tourism village planning in Rawabogo Village. Limitations: The limitation of this research lies in the process of meaning, which is not too deep, and methods can only be implemented in small planning scopes. Contributions: Integrative transcendental planning is a new contribution to the development of village planning and development paradigms because it does not only consider instrumental approaches but also communication and phenomenological approaches that are appropriate for village phenomena. Customs and cultural heritage are a phenomenon with significant potential that needs to be packaged sustainably to become a tourist attraction in Rawabogo Village.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to explore the impact of empowering society and culinary MSMEs on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in West Java, focusing on Sindangmukti Village, Karawang Regency. While prior research has often used a top-down approach, neglecting direct societal impact, this study takes a bottom-up perspective, aligning with implicit SDG principles observed in community services. Research Methodology:  The study employed online questionnaires with 505 households in West Java to evaluate water consumption, waste generation, and energy usage patterns. Specific investigations in Sindangmukti Village have measured community service effectiveness regarding SDGs. Results: The study found that Only 19.1% of the participants set AC temperatures within the recommended ranges. Additionally, initiatives to promote a sustainable city strategy and establish energy-efficient culinary MSMEs in Sindangmukti Village resulted in a 29% increase in knowledge among 70 participants and generated $36.71 income from bitter melon chip production within two months. Limitations: However, the study focused solely on Sindangmukti Village, neglecting the diverse cultural and problem landscapes of other villages in the Karawang Regency. Contributions: The findings of this study can inform future efforts to enhance energy, water, and waste efficiency in residential buildings in West Java, thereby fostering awareness of energy conservation, environmental sustainability, and economic resilience.

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this research is to achieve sustainable development by reorienting the use of energy from fossil energy to new and renewable energy through the massive and consistent use of solar energy in Indonesia. Research Methodology:  This study employed a normative empirical method with a descriptive analysis approach. Secondary data were acquired through meticulous literature review and subjected to qualitative analysis. The outcomes of the analysis serve as the cornerstone for accurate conclusions within the research (Soerjono & Mamudji, 2007). Results: The research results show that the development of Taman Surya Nusantara is instrumental, extensive, and comprehensive, to be carried out as a key to facing the challenges of the global energy crisis, as well as a strategic step to achieve sustainable development goals in Indonesia. Limitations: The construction of Taman Surya Nusantara will receive a positive response from all parties, with an orientation towards achieving the ideal use of solar energy for the realization of sustainable development. Contributions: This research explains that developments in science and technology are signs of the need for reformulation of the use of solar energy in Indonesia. In such conditions, it has implications for the phenomenon of "sustainable development goals," meaning that the dimensions of life are required to be adaptive to conditions of sustainable development in line with the essence of welcoming Golden Indonesia 2045.

Abstract

Purpose: In developing countries, such as Zimbabwe, the nexus between green innovation and sustainable economic development has not been thoroughly investigated. To fill this gap, this study examined the role of green innovation in promoting sustainable economic development in Gweru and Zimbabwe. Research Methodology:  Interpretivist philosophy underpinned qualitative data collection through a multi-case study method and thematic analysis approaches. Fifteen purposively and conveniently sampled participants participated in face-to-face interviews and focus-group discussions. Results: The study’s findings revealed that green innovation was a precursor to sustainable economic development through the reduction of carbon emissions and climate change, supply of clean energy, and increasing agricultural production, all of which enable employment generation and improved standards of living. Limitations: This study was limited to only green solar entrepreneurs in Gweru City, and other cities were not covered. The study was qualitative; hence, the results cannot be generalized to other cities in the country. Contributions: This study contributes by expanding the body of knowledge on the green innovation agenda for Small to Medium Enterprises in the solar power systems of Zimbabwe; in addition, the use of protection policies can stimulate friendly environmental businesses in all sectors of the economy.

Abstract

Purpose: Tourism is a pivotal force in contemporary economies, shaping macroeconomic facets, such as national income, financial robustness, and employment opportunities. In an era marked by globalization, nations and urban centers aspire to elevate their competitive stance and augment community well-being through strategic blueprints for the tourism sector. Research Methodology:  This research focuses on the evaluation of Persian Gulf tourism's standing vis-à-vis regional rivals while identifying the tourism assets and competencies of Farsi Island and scrutinizing their Value, Rareness, Imitability, and Organization (VRIO) attributes. The meta-SWOT strategic planning methodology is a paramount tool in this context. Results: The research unfolds in two phases: documentary and bibliographical scrutiny, and comprehensive surveys canvassing insights from ten tourism authorities judiciously chosen through purposive selection. The results shed light on the preeminent sway of macro-level factors, including national macro-management, governmental foreign policy, and international sanctions, as potent determinants of the tourism landscape of Farsi Island. Limitations: This study required long-term secondary analysis of data from Persian Gulf countries. However, these data have only recently been collected in a few countries; therefore, this study is based on primary data collection. Contributions: Concurrently, factors such as inadequate budget allocation and marginalization of the tourism sector within the country play pivotal roles in molding the Persian Gulf region's tourism trajectory.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to systematically review and conduct a bibliometric analysis of the literature on Responsible Tourism development using articles published between 2002 and 2023. Research Methodology:  Systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted using established databases using preferred reporting items for systematic review meta-analysis (PRISMA) guidelines, and Vosviwer software was employed to identify key trends, themes, and contributors in the field. Results: The review identified a growing body of literature on Responsible Tourism and found key phrases in scientific publications, predominantly on Responsible Tourism development: 71 articles were included from Lens.ORG, Emerald Insight, and Google Scholar databases, all of which were formatted for Lens. ORG. The two main themes were (1) economic development-related outcomes and (2) sustainability of tourism-based outcomes. The findings imply that future study trends should focus on sustainable outcomes such as responsible tourism development. A bibliometric analysis revealed a network of authors and their notable contributions from both academia and industry. Limitations: The study was limited by the availability of literature in the searched databases and the scope of the review over a considerable period. Contributions: Understanding responsible tourism development by providing a comprehensive overview of the literature and illustrating key trends and themes is the major contribution of this study. It also highlights the need for further research in certain areas regarding the role of technology in responsible tourism development and enhancing residents’ quality of life.
