Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of community service is to provide an understanding and basic practice of accounting and finance for small and medium scale business activities in Gresik that are application-based. Method: The methods used include lectures, workshops, interactive Q&A, and practical exercises. The activity participants consisted of 29 participants in Gresik. Supporting data was collected through direct observation and interviews with representatives of the small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Practical Applications: There are implications for the participants, including: 1) SMEs need to be disciplined in financial record-keeping, even if the financial records are simple; 2) SMEs are expected to utilize personal or business assets in the form of devices to record business finances using applications; 3) It is hoped that SMEs can continue to grow and open themselves to always learning new things in the disruptive era. Conclusion: The results of the activity show that the implementation of community service went smoothly and received high enthusiasm from the participants. The material provided was in line with the purpose of this community service.

Abstract

Purpose: This research paper explores an integrated solution for managing tofu waste from the SOLO Tofu Factory. By combining anaerobic digestion technology with urban organic farming, the study aims to provide a sustainable waste management model that benefits the factory and the surrounding community. Method: The study utilized mixed methods, including qualitative interviews and quantitative on-site observations. Anaerobic digestion technology was employed for waste treatment, and its effluent was analyzed for its potential as a bio-fertilizer. A sustainable urban organic farming system was developed, utilizing treated waste for cultivation. Data analysis involved qualitative thematic and quantitative measurement analysis. Practical Applications: The integrated approach offers helpful solutions. It provides the factory with an eco-friendly waste management solution, reducing pollution. The urban organic farming system promotes sustainable agriculture and remediates land, making it cultivable. This model serves as a blueprint for similar industries, fostering community development and environmental awareness. Conclusion: The research demonstrates the effectiveness of integrating anaerobic digestion and urban organic farming for tofu waste management. This approach offers practical, scalable solutions, reducing pollution, promoting sustainable agriculture, and fostering community development.

Abstract

Purpose: This research paper aims to address the challenges faced by horticultural farmers in Lauwonu Village, particularly regarding water scarcity exacerbated by hot weather conditions. The study emphasizes the significance of utilizing technology, specifically a drip irrigation system based on IoT and solar panel energy, to mitigate these challenges effectively. Method: The research employed a qualitative approach to investigate the impact of implementing IoT-based drip irrigation systems on chili farming productivity. Data collection methods included surveys and interviews with 15 members of the Mekar Green farmer group. Thematic analysis was utilized to interpret the gathered data. Practical Applications: The findings demonstrate the practical benefits of adopting IoT-driven irrigation technology, enhancing water efficiency and agricultural productivity. This research offers valuable insights for farmers, policymakers, and agricultural practitioners, facilitating informed decision-making and sustainable agricultural practices.Conclusion: Implementing IoT-enabled drip irrigation systems powered by solar panels presents a viable solution to address water scarcity challenges in chili farming. The study underscores the importance of leveraging technology to improve agricultural resilience and productivity, thereby contributing to sustainable food production and livelihoods in rural communities.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the role of Sharia Cooperatives, a part of Sharia Financial Institutions, in improving community welfare. These institutions operate on sharia principles, aiming to generate profits for both customers and financial institutions. The study focuses on the impact of these cooperatives on rural communities, such as Tulusayu Village in Wagir District, Malang Regency, who require funds to develop their economy. Method: The study employs socialization and counseling as methods to educate the people of Tulusayu Village about the characteristics, principles, economic goals, and products of Sharia Cooperatives. The focus is on the development of small micro businesses, particularly through the Kanindo Syariah JATIM Cooperative Wagir Branch. Practical Applications: The practical application of this study lies in its potential to provide the community with knowledge and understanding about the existence and benefits of Sharia Cooperatives. By participating in socialization and counseling activities, the community can learn how to leverage these cooperatives for economic development. Conclusion: The study concludes that the active participation of the community in these activities can significantly support the improvement of the economy in Tulusayu Village. The existence of Sharia Cooperatives, therefore, plays a crucial role in community development and welfare improvement.

Abstract

Purpose: This study highlights the need to enhance teachers' proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva Platform at Lembang Public Elementary School. The purpose of the workshop was to equip educators with essential skills using these tools, thereby addressing the existing proficiency gap among teachers. Method: The workshop employed a straightforward approach involving material presentation and hands-on exercises. Teachers actively participated, demonstrating an 80% success rate in comprehending and applying the knowledge, validating the effectiveness of the workshop's methodology. Practical Applications: The workshop's outcomes have significant practical implications. Teachers, now adept in these technologies, can effectively integrate them into their teaching methods, enhancing classroom engagement and learning experiences. Additionally, these skills empower teachers in various real-world scenarios, fostering a more interactive and modern educational environment. Conclusion: This study underscores the workshop's success in bridging the proficiency gap among teachers, resulting in a more technologically proficient teaching faculty at Lembang Public Elementary School. The hands-on methodology proved highly effective, ensuring practical application of Microsoft Office and Canva Platform skills in educational settings.

Abstract

The furniture industry provides a fairly high foreign exchange where the industry is labor-intensive with a high export value. During 2022, its export value reached 3.5 billion USD and 1.3% of Indonesia's total export performance in 2022. However, this value fell by 8.04% from last year due to the Russian-Ukrainian war and the global economic downturn. Therefore, to support marketing strategies and improve export performance, the Furniture Industry Business Management (MBIF) study program conducts branding and merchandising training. This community service activity (PKM) is carried out in the form of lectures and practices. The material presented in the form of basic furniture for the development of small and medium industries, branding concepts, branding strategies, digital marketing and merchandising Practices. For evaluation using pre-test, post-test and the results of branding or merchandising uploaded on social media. This training is expected to improve the understanding of branding and merchandising and implement it into its export marketing strategy. So that the export performance of the furniture industry in Jepara can rise in 2023.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this community service activity is to connect Indonesian local culture, especially through Ayam Geprek dishes, with international tourists visiting Rainbow Village Perlis, Malaysia. Method: This community service was carried out in Rainbow Village, Perlis, Malaysia. Its activities include a series of carefully planned stages. Preparation begins with an internal coordination meeting to draw up a detailed plan and divide tasks. Next, the team had a meeting with the local community and presented the concept of the project. Ayam Geprek cooking demonstration was conducted on the hall premises. Practical Applications: The results of the Ayam Geprek cooking demonstration activity showed a very positive response from international tourists in Malaysia. They rated this dish spicy but very tasty and impressive. This indicates the great potential of Ayam Geprek as a culinary attraction for tourists. The active involvement of the community in this activity also plays an important role in facilitating the introduction of Javanese cultural elements through Ayam Geprek dishes. Conclusion: Ayam Geprek cooking demonstration activities have been successful in achieving its goals. The positive response from international tourists shows the great potential of Ayam Geprek as a culinary attraction. It is hoped that this project will strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and Malaysia, particularly in the cultural and culinary context, as well as enrich the experience of international tourists in Malaysia.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the efforts to develop the economy and improve the quality of life of the community in Tambakasri Village, Tajinan District, Malang Regency, East Java. It focuses on the role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in developing the local economy and the need for digital marketing and graphic design skills in promoting MSME products in the digital era. Method: The study employs a service program that includes initial observation, counseling, mentoring, and evaluation. Observations are conducted to understand the situation and needs in Tambakasri Village. Counseling and mentoring involve training in using Canva and social media for digital marketing. An evaluation is carried out to measure the impact of the training program. Practical Applications: The practical application of this study lies in its potential to enhance the capabilities of MSMEs in digital marketing and product design. This is achieved through training in the use of Canva and social media, which are key tools in the digital era. The study shows that these skills can have a positive impact on village economic development and help MSMEs compete in the digital era. Conclusion: The results of this service program show an increase in MSME capabilities in digital marketing and product design. This has a positive impact on the economic development of Tambakasri Village, demonstrating the importance of digital skills in helping MSMEs compete in the digital era. The study concludes that digital marketing and graphic design are key to promoting MSME products and contributing to sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this service is to assist Pagersari Village in improving its administrative and financial governance, with the ultimate goal of transforming it into a Smart Village. Despite having excellent potential, Pagersari Village faces challenges in optimizing its administrative and financial aspects. Method: A series of assistance activities were carried out from June to September 2023. The main activities included the preparation of efficient and transparent village administration management guidelines and assistance with an integrated financial system. Additionally, village staff were trained in good administrative management and the use of the autocrat application. Practical Applications: The practical application of this service is the creation of a transformation plan for Pagersari towards becoming a Smart Village. This plan focuses on more efficient, transparent, and technology-based administrative and financial management. Conclusion: The successful implementation of this service in Pagersari Village serves as an example for other villages. It demonstrates the feasibility of realizing Smart Villages as part of sustainable development efforts at the village level. This success story can inspire and guide other villages in their journey towards becoming Smart Villages.
