Abstract

Purpose: This community service initiative aims to provide training to construction workers and their assistants in Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi, addressing the issue of inadequate autodidactic skills. The research is significant for ensuring compliance with construction standards, reducing risks of structural failures. Method: The study involves structured training sessions focused on proper construction practices, with pre- and post-training assessments to measure skill improvement and participant feedback for refinement. Practical Applications: The findings have practical implications for the construction industry, enhancing project outcomes and structural integrity in remote areas. This training fosters better management practices and benefits community infrastructure. Conclusion: The training significantly improves the skills of construction workers, emphasizing the need for formal education to achieve safety and compliance with standards. This initiative promotes long-term benefits for the region’s construction sector.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to address the limited knowledge of traditional medicine among communities in Selayar Regency, South Sulawesi. It highlights the significance of improving understanding and usage of traditional medicine to enhance health outcomes in areas with limited healthcare facilities. Method: The study utilized a hybrid approach, involving seminars and training for 50 PKK (Family Welfare Movement) cadres. Pre and post-tests were administered to assess knowledge changes regarding medicinal plants and traditional medicine preparation. Practical Applications: The findings indicate that enhancing the knowledge of PKK cadres can empower them to share this information in their communities, leading to increased use of traditional remedies and improved health outcomes. Conclusion: The study found a notable increase in knowledge, with correct answers rising from 64.54% in the pre-test to 75.67% in the post-test. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the training and its potential to address health challenges in Selayar Regency through the utilization of traditional medicine.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to improve the managerial skills of administrators and members of the Batu City Student Association (IMAKOBA), a non-profit organization facing operational challenges. Addressing these issues is crucial to enhancing the organization's effectiveness and impact. Method: The study involved a management training program using lectures, role-playing, and discussions to enhance participants' leadership, planning, and control skills. Practical Applications: The findings provide practical strategies to improve management in non-profit organizations, enhancing their effectiveness and sustainability, especially in youth-driven initiatives. Conclusion: The training improved key skills in leadership and planning, offering valuable insights into resolving managerial challenges and optimizing non-profit organizations' operations.

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this community service is to help Smoked Fish SMEs in Bulak and Ketapang Villages access additional working capital and build partnerships with suppliers, distributors, and consumers. The focus is on improving their understanding of capital loan procedures and enhancing their supply chain relationships to ensure business sustainability. Method: The approach includes assessing SMEs' knowledge of loan procedures, conducting training to improve their loan application and partnership-building skills, and monitoring the results to measure impact and effectiveness. Practical Applications: This initiative will enable SMEs to secure financing and strengthen partnerships, leading to improved business performance, market expansion, and overall sustainability, benefiting both the businesses and the local community. Conclusion: By increasing SMEs' knowledge of capital loans and partnerships, this activity enhances their ability to grow and sustain their businesses, contributing to local economic development and community welfare.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to address administrative challenges within the Tuna Fishermen's Group in Dumai City, including manual record-keeping, reliance on external administrative support, damaged fishing equipment, and the group's inability to develop CSR proposals for additional funding.Method: The study used a community service approach (PKM) that involved socialization, provision of administrative tools and fishing equipment, educational workshops, and training. An evaluation was conducted to assess the program's effectiveness.Practical Applications: The findings can help improve the fishermen's administrative practices, reduce external dependency, enhance equipment management, and guide them in securing CSR funding for sustainability.Conclusion: The PKM activities were well-implemented and supported by the Tuna Fishermen's Group, leading to improved operational efficiency and addressing the group's key issues.

Abstract

Purpose: This paper examines the role of the Tuah Negeri Nusantara Legal Aid Institute in Riau, Indonesia, highlighting its professional legal assistance, education, and reform efforts. It explores the significance of legal aid in addressing the region's growing need for accessible legal support.Method: A qualitative review of the institute’s activities, including case records and interviews with legal professionals, was conducted. The study focuses on the institute’s handling of over 500 cases since 2016 and its broader contributions to legal reform.Practical Applications: The findings demonstrate the institute’s vital role in providing legal aid to underserved communities and its influence on legal education and reform. These contributions offer a model for improving access to justice in other regions.Conclusion: The Tuah Negeri Nusantara Legal Aid Institute has had a substantial impact on the legal sector in Riau, handling over 500 cases since 2016. Its work highlights the importance of legal aid in promoting justice and advancing legal knowledge in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose: This community service program aims to empower young people by promoting entrepreneurship and enhancing their skills, particularly in response to high unemployment and the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal is to produce young entrepreneurs who can drive local economic growth.Method: The program includes seminars, workshops, and mentorship in digital marketing, product branding, and entrepreneurial management. It follows a structured process from planning to evaluation, with pre- and post-assessments to measure participant progress.Practical Applications: The program equips participants with skills to leverage digital platforms for business growth, helping them address unemployment and social issues by becoming self-reliant entrepreneurs.Conclusion: The program shows that building entrepreneurial and digital marketing skills boosts young people's productivity and economic potential, contributing to local development and addressing social challenges.

Purpose: This research examines the role of the Legal Aid Institute of Lancang Kuning University in providing legal protection and ensuring equal treatment under the law, particularly for underprivileged individuals. It highlights the importance of legal aid in promoting justice.Method: A qualitative approach was used, gathering data through interviews, document analysis, and observations of the institute’s activities. Content analysis was applied to assess the effectiveness of its legal services.Practical Applications: The research demonstrates the importance of professional legal aid for underprivileged communities, showing how the institute's work in criminal and civil cases improves access to justice.Conclusion: The Legal Aid Institute plays a vital role in promoting equal justice, particularly for marginalized groups, through legal representation and advocacy in Riau, contributing to law enforcement and human rights protection.

Abstract

Purpose: This program aims to empower underprivileged families in Pelangi Village, particularly Mr. Ahmad Suki’s family, by enhancing their knowledge and skills to achieve economic independence through entrepreneurship.Method: The program includes entrepreneurship training focused on motivation, business planning, record-keeping, and profit-loss analysis. Sales of food products like geprek chicken, risol, and basreng were used as part of the practical training. Interviews with Mr. Ahmad Suki’s family guided the program’s development.Practical Applications: The skills learned can be applied to small business ventures, helping underprivileged communities achieve financial independence through sustainable entrepreneurship.Conclusion: The program was successful due to continuous support and collaboration, empowering the community by equipping them with essential business skills for economic improvement.

Abstract

Purpose: This project aims to increase the sales of pandan mat artisans in Kadumaneuh Village by addressing marketing challenges and introducing innovative business concepts.Method: The approach included outreach, mentoring, and creating a promotional website. Artisans were trained in business concepts and product innovation, followed by mentoring to apply these ideas, and a website was developed for broader market reach.Practical Applications: The website serves as a promotional tool to expand sales, while the training equips artisans with better business knowledge, helping them adapt and compete more effectively.Conclusion: The project improved artisans' understanding of business concepts, though no significant change was noted in comparative analysis. The mentoring and website development are expected to bring long-term benefits to the artisans' businesses.
