Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of membership card appeal on customer loyalty at Indomaret Fresh Watutumou. The background of this study is based on the importance of membership-based marketing strategies in retaining customers and increasing repeat visits. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 30 respondents who are Indomaret Fresh Watutumou customers. Data analysis was carried out using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 25. The results showed that the appeal of membership cards had a significant effect on customer loyalty. This is indicated by the coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.672, which means that 67.2% of the variation in customer loyalty can be explained by the appeal of membership cards. The correlation coefficient (R) value of 0.820 indicates a very strong relationship between the two variables. In addition, the results of the t-test show a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which indicates that the effect is significant. Thus, it can be concluded that the higher the appeal of membership cards felt by customers, the higher their level of loyalty. This study provides important implications for Indomaret management in designing more attractive membership programs to maintain and increase customer loyalty

Abstract

This study examines corporate communication related to the decision to make mass layoffs in the television industry using a critical discourse analysis approach. The main focus of the study is to understand how the narratives of efficiency and social exclusion are framed and constructed in print and online media discourse. Data were collected from various news reports and official corporate statements during the period of mass layoffs. The results of the analysis show the dominance of the efficiency narrative used by companies to legitimize the decision to make layoffs, with an emphasis on restructuring and business optimization. However, alternative discourses emerging from the media and trade unions reveal the reality of social and economic exclusion experienced by affected workers, which is often hidden from the official corporate narrative. This study confirms that corporate communication functions as a tool for legitimization and image management, but tends to ignore the crucial social dimension of exclusion. These findings reinforce the importance of a critical approach in understanding the dynamics of power through language in the context of mass layoffs. This study also highlights the role of the media as an arena for discourse battles between corporate interests and workers' rights.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought major changes in the pharmaceutical industry, increasing demand for health products while challenging the financial stability of companies. In the midst of economic recovery, the efficiency of managing capital structure and liquidity is very important to maintain the profitability of pharmaceutical companies. This study aims to analyze the influence of capital structure and liquidity on the profitability of pharmaceutical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2020–2024 period. The method used is quantitative statistics where the approach is with the panel data regression analysis technique. Capital structure variables are measured using Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), liquidity with Current Ratio (CR), and profitability with Return on Assets (ROA). The sample used consisted of 7 companies selected based on specific criteria. The results show that partially, capital structure has a significant effect on profitability, while liquidity has no significant influence. However, simultaneously, these two variables have a significant influence on profitability with a contribution of 74.5%. These findings emphasize the importance of proper capital structure planning in an effort to improve the financial performance of pharmaceutical companies in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

Film is one of the forms of mass media that serves not only as entertainment but also as a medium for delivering messages, values, and moral teachings through a combination of visual and audio elements. In addition to portraying social realities, film also functions as a means of expression in response to various events and phenomena occurring in society. The moral messages conveyed in films often reflect human behavior and attitudes in everyday life, as well as demonstrate the positive and negative consequences of actions taken. This study aims to examine the meaning of signs and moral values in the film Agak Laen using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach. Barthes' approach analyzes signs through three levels of meaning: denotation (literal meaning), connotation (emotional or cultural meaning), and myth (ideological meaning shaped by society). This research is qualitative in nature, with data collected through direct observation and literature review. The results of the study show that Agak Laen contains a number of signs that convey moral messages through its narrative and characters. These signs construct myths that reflect cultural and social values in community life.

Abstract

Feminism as a social movement and thought has fought for gender equality and women's freedom in various parts of the world. In Indonesia, the feminist movement emerged as a response to the dominant patriarchal social structure and culture that limits women's roles in society. This article aims to examine the role of feminism in fighting for women's freedom in Indonesia through a philosophical study. Using the literature review method, this article explores the views of Indonesian and international feminist thinkers on women's freedom and how the philosophy of feminism is applied in the context of Indonesian culture. Based on this analysis, Indonesian feminism can be understood not only as a social movement, but also as a philosophical foundation that changes the understanding of the role and rights of women in Indonesian society.
