Abstract

This study aims to produce flipbooks as local wisdom-based teaching materials that can encourage cultural and civic literacy and strengthen character education among students. These teaching materials include information about Tangerang City, the Palang Pintu tradition, and the Lenggang Cisadane dance. The process of developing these teaching materials follows the ADDIE model. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and tests, where the questionnaires included assessments from media experts, material experts, and student responses, while the tests consisted of Pre-test and Post-test. Data analysis was carried out using t-test and n-gain tests. The research sample involved 30 fourth-grade students at SDIT Tunas Harapan Ilahi, Tangerang City, Banten. The results of the study showed that the development of teaching materials carried out was classified as "very feasible," with an average student response reaching 91%, which was considered "very good." The use of local wisdom-based teaching materials with flipbook media has been proven to have a positive impact on encouraging cultural and civic literacy and strengthening character education. The effectiveness of teaching materials to encourage cultural and civic literacy reached 76.4% ("high" category), while in strengthening character education it reached 68.4% ("moderate" category). Based on these findings, local wisdom-based teaching materials with flipbook media are considered feasible to be used in improving cultural and civic literacy skills and strengthening character education of elementary school students.

Abstract

The role of a leader in an organization has a crucial role. The progress or decline of an organization can be influenced by the ability of a leader in leading an organization, as well as the role of the principal in leading an educational institution or school. A professional principal certainly understands how to manage school resources, is able to see all existing potentials and can optimize them, and can provide education that is tailored to the needs and developments of the times. In its implementation, to realize educational goals, cooperation and coordination are needed, not only by the principal, but also by all stakeholders, both teachers and staff, students, and also the environment (social) which in this sense is the role of parents (guardians). The method used in this study is a literature review or library research with data collection techniques using documentation in the form of primary or main data sources in the form of literary works of the novel Totto Chan: The Little Girl At The Window (in Indonesian Totto Chan: Gadis Kecil di Jendela) by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi and secondary data sources in the form of journal literature or articles and books that are relevant to the topic discussed. The purpose of this study is to determine the types of popular leadership styles that exist in schools and also to analyze more deeply the leadership styles carried out by the principal in the literary work of the novel Totto Chan: The Little Girl At The Window. The results of the data analysis that have been carried out by the researcher are, there are several popular leadership styles that exist in schools, namely: autocratic leadership style, democratic leadership style, Laissez faire leadership style, managerial leadership style, transformational leadership style and transactional leadership style, while the leadership style used by the principal in the literary work of the novel Totto Chan: The Little Girl At The Window uses a democratic-transformational leadership style. The urgency of this study is to increase the reader's knowledge in knowing the types of leadership styles and also to make the leadership style carried out by Sosaku Kobayashi (Mr. Kobayashi) as the principal in the novel Totto Chan: The Little Girl At The Window as an inspiration in leading an educational institution or school.

Abstract

Self-efficacy is an individual's belief in his or her ability to achieve the desired results in a particular context, in this case the readiness to teach through microteaching-1, which is mostly aimed at prospective teacher students, especially in this research, students of the Faculty of Islamic Religious Education study program Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Palangka Raya State Islamic Institute. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques include interviews with PAI FTIK IAIN Palangka Raya students who have carried out PM 1, direct observation and documentation analysis. Data analysis involves the process of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The findings from the research show that the self-efficacy of PAI FTIK IAIN Palangka Raya students is at a fairly good level, where they have high confidence in their teaching abilities. Students' teaching readiness is also at a good level, indicated by thorough preparation in implementing Teaching Practices-1 in creating teaching modules and the learning media used. There is a significant positive impact between self-efficacy and teaching readiness. Students with a high level of self-efficacy demonstrate better teaching readiness and are able to master teaching skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing differentiated learning based on learning styles on the improvement of student learning independence and critical thinking skills in science subjects, specifically on the topic of light, in grade V at SD Inpres 1 Inti Bantaya. This research is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental method conducted on the entire population of grade V students at SD Inpres 1 Inti Bantaya for the 2023/2024 academic year, consisting of two classes with a total of 56 students. The results show that the application of differentiated learning based on learning styles has a positive impact on enhancing students' learning independence. This is evidenced by higher scores in the experimental class compared to the control class across five aspects of learning independence: initiative, self-confidence, responsibility, problem-solving, and self-control. Additionally, the results of the independent t-test indicate a significant difference between the average pretest and posttest scores of students' critical thinking skills in the experimental and control classes. The significance values for the pretest and posttest are 0.000 and 0.009, respectively, indicating that the use of differentiated learning based on learning styles can improve students' critical thinking skills. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that differentiated learning based on learning styles is effective in enhancing learning independence and critical thinking skills among students on the topic of light in grade V at SD Inpres 1 Inti Bantaya.

Abstract

The importance of developing reading materials on disaster mitigation aims to equip students with knowledge on self-rescue to reduce casualties and the consequences caused by disasters. Providing disaster mitigation education to students from an early age is one of the initial efforts to raise community awareness of disasters. Early-grade students are the most vulnerable group to natural disasters. To address this issue, it is necessary to develop storybooks incorporating disaster mitigation materials. This study employed a descriptive quantitative method. Descriptive research aims to provide an overview of phenomena within a specific population. Data collection methods in this study focused on students through written tests. The research sample consisted of 30 fourth-grade elementary school students, with 10 students selected as the sample, along with three teachers. Data were collected through interviews, test questions, and questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the study revealed that elementary school students’ reading literacy met the medium criteria, with an achievement percentage of 68.82%. The study suggests that parents should be more involved in their children's literacy education.

Abstract

Humanist education is a human's understanding of the environment and oneself, a unique, autonomous and creative human system, determining each person's behavior. One way to implement the idea of ​​humanist education is through the use of animated films, one of which is the animated film Upin Ipin episode of Lebaran Idul Fitri. The animated film Upin Ipin shows how peaceful multiculturalism is, the film shows how multicultural communities can live side by side happily even though they come from different cultural origins. The aim of this research is to identify and describe the values ​​of humanist education contained in the film Upin and Ipin episode Riang Raya. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The source of research data is the Upin Ipin film Eid Al-Fitr episode which is available on YouTube. Data collection techniques are by listening, recording and taking notes. Data analysis in this research uses content analysis. The results of this research show that the Upin Ipin animated films episodes Riang Raya, Raya Full of Meaning and Ragam Raya contain humanist educational values, namely democracy, pluralism, humanity, religion, freedom, tolerance and justice. The Upin Ipin film can be used as a teaching medium for humanist education.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the program implemented to improve students' literacy and numeracy skills at SMP Negeri 3 Gondangrejo. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data obtained came from the implementation of the program to improve literacy and numeracy skills. The data collection process was done through observation and documentation. The results show that literacy and numeracy skills are very important for students to master since primary and secondary school levels, so that they can more easily understand the subject matter and as preparation for continuing education to a higher level. The programs implemented to improve these skills include book swap party, literacy day, reading corner, mathventure, science art project, library revitalization program, school mading, reuse art, smart learning workshop, and socialization of the three big sins in education.

Abstract

Applied physics courses require students to produce applied products. In theory, this course teaches students to use and apply physics knowledge in a practical physics product. However, students have low creativity, so students' outcomes and ideas are limited. it is necessary to have a learning media that is beneficial to society in the current situation, and this media must be able to change and enhance student creativity so that, in the end, it also improves student learning outcomes. One learning media that will be developed is an RO filter combined with heating filaments. The development of RO filters is based on the problem of the quality of drinking water in the community. This research is a Research and Development. Development research time for eight months. The subjects of this study were physics education students who were programming applied physics courses. The changes measured are the validation values of learning media development from expert respondents to increase student creativity it is measured through a creativity questionnaire.. The results of this study indicate that the development of this media has succeeded in increasing students' creativity. In conclusion, the use of this innovative learning media is not only useful in improving students' understanding of applied physics, but also provides a positive contribution to the quality of drinking water in the community.

Abstract

The background of this work stems from the discovery of an anthology book published in 2021 titled "Smapta Berkarya untuk Indonesia," which features writings by teachers, employees, and outsourced staff, including security and cleaning service personnel. The urgency of this book lies in the effort to encourage and raise awareness among the school community about the culture of writing literacy, focusing on sharing their best experiences in the world of education. However, it still needs to be improved and perfected in several aspects. The purpose of this work is to invite the school community to document best practices in writing, assess participation rates among members in sharing their experiences, create an ISBN-registered anthology book, and establish the school's branding as "The Literacy School of Yogyakarta. The actions taken include issuing a circular inviting all school members—students, parents, teachers, employees, outsourced staff, and cafeteria personnel—to write about their best experiences. Additionally, literacy workshops were conducted in collaboration with academics, practitioners, and librarians from nearby high schools in Kulon Progo. The best practice essays were curated, followed by the launching of the anthology book and a book exhibition, culminating in the branding of the school as "The Literacy School of Yogyakarta." The results of this innovation indicate that after facilitating mobility orientation, school members documented their best experiences, achieving a participation rate of 57.69% among students, parents, teachers, employees, security staff, cleaning personnel, and cafeteria workers against the target. The ISBN-registered anthology book 978-623-8526-95-6, titled "Jejak Langkah: Kisah-Kisah Inspiratif Dalam Harapan dan Aksi" (Footsteps: Inspirational Stories of Hope and Action), was successfully published, and the school has been effectively branded as "The Literacy School of Yogyakarta."

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of personality competence on authentic assessment in Pekanbaru City High School. This type of research is quantitative using the correlation method. The sample studied in this research was 50 respondents. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire. Data was collected from Indonesian language teachers at Pekanbaru City High School using a purposive sampling technique, namely providing a questionnaire containing statement items regarding authentic assessment and personality competence. The data that has been collected is then input in the form of a Likert scale. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics with simple linear regression analysis to find out how much influence personality competence has on authentic assessment using the SPSS version 22 application. The results of this research show that there is a positive influence between personality competence and authentic assessment of Indonesian language teachers. Teachers who have a good and wise personality can professionally carry out assessments of their students at school without discriminating against religion, culture and ethnicity. So it can be concluded in this research that teacher personality competence influences the authentic assessment of Indonesian language teachers.
