Abstract

Schools play a central role in the process of educating the nation's children. In education, the figure of the educator determines the progress of the school. So, the role of educational organizations is very large in the development process. The school organization must have a strategy to maintain the quality of educators to remain ideal, because the quality climate of educators greatly impacts students. This study aims to identify and analyze the principal's leadership strategy in improving employee engagement on educators' performance at SMP Muhamadiyah 10 Surakarta. The method used with descriptive method using qualitative approach. Data collection used interview, documentation and observation methods. Testing the validity of data using triangulation. Data analysis used through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing. The results showed that employee engagement at SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Surakarta has been well realized through the principal's strategy and the application of ethical values to educators to encourage the development of educators. The strategies/programs that have been implemented are: 1). Strengthening class leadership, 2). Maintenance of commitment through relationship development, 3). Teacher involvement in decision making, 4). Improved communication, 5). Reward and recognition, 6). Positive work culture. Future research can expand the study on the development of the principal's leadership model on student learning outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of the principal's strategy that has been implemented.

Abstract

Individuals with intellectual disabilities often face challenges in performing daily life skills, such as self-care and religious practices, due to their low cognitive and adaptive abilities. These challenges necessitate effective educational interventions. This study aims to develop a simulation-based tutorial video as a viable and effective learning medium to enhance the compulsory bathing skills of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Employing Thiagarajan's 4D model, data collection was conducted through observations, interviews, tests, and surveys. The product was evaluated through expert reviews, limited trials, and widespread testing. Data analysis was carried out using both quantitative and qualitative methods. Expert reviews affirmed the suitability of the compulsory bathing tutorial video for enhancing the necessary skills in individuals with intellectual disabilities. A limited trial at SLBN 2 Yogyakarta showed a media readability level of 81,11 (good), with an 80% improvement in compulsory bathing skills. Extensive testing at SLBN 1 Yogyakarta and SLBN Pembina indicated media readability levels of 92,36 (good) and 86 (good), respectively, effectively improving the bathing skills by 85.33% and 81.33%. This tutorial video can be further developed for other disabilities, supporting UII’s strategic plan for Inclusive Development towards a Competitive Civil Society in the Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

Problems that generally occur in teenagers are a character that needs to be developed through school educational institutions. Development that focuses on the Pancasila character profile, elements of creativity and mutual cooperation, with the hope that students will become people with character, so that they can become civilized humans. In reality, obstacles to understanding in developing it both from teachers and students, as well as the role of parents also determine character. Project based learning requires in its application to create a project that must be done, then produce written work, drawings, etc. The aim of this research is to obtain a description related to Project based learning to develop the character profile of Pancasila students, elements of creativity and mutual cooperation in history learning. The research design in this research is a literature study, namely the source is from various written articles that are related to the theme of discussion. Project based learning is a teaching and learning method as a solution to be implemented, and can be used to develop the character of students so that they have positive moral qualities. Through Project based learning, we can develop the character profile of Pancasila students, taken from several elements, for example elements of creativity and mutual cooperation in history learning which can be used to teach history correctly, meaning that teachers are able to choose problem themes and are able to choose to apply contextual learning methods and approaches so that achieve goals by connecting the material in the textbook with the surrounding environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in preventing intolerance among students. The method used is descriptive analysis with a literature review approach. In collecting data, the author employed basic observation and advanced note-taking techniques to analyze written data from educational journals, while the note-taking technique was used to obtain relevant information from various sources such as books and articles. The data was analyzed using content analysis, allowing the researcher to describe and relate the data to supporting documents on Islamic religious education. Through this analysis, the research results show that PAI teachers have a strategic role in preventing intolerance by teaching Islamic values such as tolerance, justice, and mutual respect. Teachers serve as role models in shaping students' inclusive character and integrating extracurricular activities to promote harmony. This study concludes that the active role of PAI teachers is crucial in creating a harmonious school environment, and collaboration between teachers, parents, and the school community must be strengthened to support inclusive and sustainable character education.

Abstract

Educators are a benchmark that builds a generation that is ready to participate in nation building. Educational institutions are the place where teaching and learning activities occur, the success of schools in creating superior students and achievements can be seen through the results of teacher performance. The purpose of this study is to prove the impact of competence, work discipline and physical environment on the performance of SMP N 3 Lasem teachers. This study involved 34 teachers from SMP Negeri 3 Lasem. The sampling method was a saturated sample, and the data analysis was carried out by multiple linear regression analysis using the SPSS 24 tool. This study provides results where the variables of competence and work discipline have a not significant impact on the performance of SMP N 3 Lasem teachers, while the physical environment variables have a significant impact on the performance of SMP N 3 Lasem teachers. The determination test showed that the variables of competence, work discipline and physical environment were able to affect teacher performance by 89.5% while the remaining 10.5% was explained by other factors.

Abstract

The problem based learning model is a learning process that allows students to become open, reflective, active, reflective and critical thinkers through activities related to real world situations. The aim of this research is to analyze the application of the problem based learning (PBL) method to improve elementary school students' critical thinking abilities, and the PBL model is a problem-based model that can improve students' thinking abilities. This research uses a systematic literature review. In this method, there are 5 stages carried out in this systematic literature review. The stages of this research are problem identification, literature search, literature selection using 1 RQ, and finally reporting the results. This research was conducted on scientific articles from 2016 to 2024. Researchers used Google Scholar to search for samples and found 10 articles aimed at elementary school students. Researchers used quantitative comparative methods to analyze research results. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the problem-based learning model increases students' critical thinking abilities from a minimum of 25.60% to a maximum of 77.30%, resulting in a significant increase of 58.412%.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students ' public speaking skills through the role-playing method as a tour guide at the Sumpah Pemuda Museum based on a virtual museum 360-degree video. This research uses an experimental method with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design model. The research sample was students of class X Pemasaran 1 SMK Negeri 1 Batang with a total of 28. The data collection technique used was observation and questionnaire which was then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques. The results showed an increase from before treatment or treatment and after treatment. The results of descriptive statistics obtained the average value of the pretest was 67.86 and the average value of the posttest was 81.29. Furthermore, the results of the paired sample t-test analysis showed a significance value of 0.000, which means that the Sig (n) value <0.05. The N-Gain test obtained an average value of 0.4308. So it is concluded that the role-playing method as a virtual museum tour guide using 360-degree video has an effect in improving students' public speaking skills.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the influence of teaching methods on mathematics learning outcomes in class IV students at SD Negeri 1 Gresik. The problem raised is the lack of understanding of mathematical concepts among students which is caused by less interesting learning methods. The research method used was a quantitative and qualitative design, with a sample consisting of 30 students selected randomly. Data was collected through mathematics learning outcomes tests and analyzed using statistical analysis to determine the significance of the influence of learning methods. The research results show that the use of active learning methods, such as picture collaboration, guided learning at home, and text learning, can significantly improve students' mathematics learning outcomes. Students who engage in active learning show better understanding and higher test scores compared to conventional methods. Future prospects, this research can be a reference for developing more innovative and effective learning methods in improving the quality of mathematics education in elementary schools. The conclusion of this research is that mathematics teachers should apply student-centered teaching methods and facilitate student participation in learning activities.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) examine the effectiveness of the NHT type cooperative model in learning to determine the intrinsic elements of short stories; (2) examine the effectiveness of the jigsaw type cooperative model in learning to determine the intrinsic elements of short stories; and (3) prove the effectiveness of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) type cooperative model and the jigsaw type cooperative model in learning to determine the intrinsic elements of short stories. This research is experimental research. The population in this study was class IX students at SMP Negeri 2 Mamuju, totaling 324 students consisting of eleven classes. From the eleven classes, samples were determined using a lottery technique. The sample in this study was 54 people consisting of class IX 3 and class IX 4. After determining the sample, the data was then collected using a test technique, namely by measuring students' understanding of the intrinsic elements of short stories. The variables examined in this research are the Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative model, the jigsaw cooperative model, and the ability to analyze the intrinsic elements of short stories.. This research obtained the following results: (1) The Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model can increase students' understanding in analyzing the intrinsic elements of short stories for class IX students at SMP Negeri 2 Mamuju. This was proven from the pre-test score of 69.41 to 78.40 in the post-test score; (2) The jigsaw learning model can improve students' understanding in analyzing the intrinsic elements of short stories for class IX students at SMP Negeri 2 Mamuju. This is proven from the pre-test score of 60.48 to 77.25 in the post-test score; and (3) Based on the results of the hypothesis test Sig. (2-tailed) shows the same value in both learning models of 0.659. This shows that both learning models are effectively used. However, this is different from the tcount value obtained, namely 0.444. The tcount value is 0.444 from the ttable value of 2.055, therefore, the hypothesis (H0) is accepted and (H1) is rejected so that the NHT type cooperative learning model is more effective than the jigsaw type cooperative learning model in analyzing the intrinsic elements of class IX students' short stories at SMP Negeri 2 Mamuju.

Abstract

The exploration of Javanese language in children encompasses language attitudes and the process of grammar system formation in children. The growth and development of children with the Javanese language are influenced by their mother tongue and environment. Factors influencing language acquisition in children include the social environment, which in this study includes teachers and students at Jumapolo 01 Kindergarten. This research examines the intensity of Javanese language interaction in the domestic domain and the influence of Indonesian. The study aims to understand the language attitudes of children from Jumapolo 01 Kindergarten and their syntactic level. Data collection was conducted through active participatory observation, using observation, involvement, and conversation techniques. The data were then reduced and analyzed based on syntactic theory. Finally, conclusions were drawn from the research findings regarding language attitudes and syntactic phenomena observed in sentence patterns produced by Jumapolo 01 Kindergarten students. This study reveals that preschool students at Jumapolo 01 Kindergarten predominantly choose to use Javanese in conversations with friends and educators. The sentence patterns produced by Jumapolo 01 Kindergarten students demonstrate an ability to form clear and efficient sentences. Although there are some sentence pattern errors, the sentences are still acceptable between speakers and listeners.
