Abstract

Covid-19 has resulted in a concerning condition of education in Indonesia, prompting the government to initiate the "Kampus Mengajar" program to help revive education in the country. The "Kampus Mengajar" program is part of the "Merdeka Belajar - Kampus Merdeka" (MBKM) initiative organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud). The activities of the "Kampus Mengajar" focus on enhancing literacy and numeracy skills, assisting school administration, and promoting the use of technology in schools. One of the target schools for the "Kampus Mengajar" program is SD Negeri Gilingsari Temanggung. The author implemented Bruner's learning theory to aid students at SD Negeri Gilingsari in learning mathematics, specifically multiplication skills. Bruner's learning theory was chosen because it emphasizes the use of representative forms to facilitate students' understanding of mathematics. The learning process is carried out using teaching aids such as cups and corn kernels to represent the multiplication of numbers. The aim of this research is to describe the impact of using Bruner's learning theory to teach multiplication tables from one to ten to second-grade students at SD Negeri Gilingsari.This research adopts a qualitative research method, where the data obtained will be described in detail according to the real-life conditions. The research findings indicate that through learning with Bruner's learning theory, students' multiplication skills have improved. The students' development is demonstrated by their ability to comprehend multiplication as repeated addition

Abstract

This pre-experimental study aimed to increase the duration of students' mathematics learning outside of school hours using a learning reminder application. The research employed a One-Shot Case Study Design and was conducted at Athirah Islamic School. The sample consisted of four junior high school students and three senior high school students who were part of the Mathematics TOSA program. Due to differences in academic load, the target learning intensity for junior high school TOSA students was set at 10 hours per week, while for senior high school students, it was 6 hours per week. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to evaluate the data. The results indicated that after one month of receiving learning reminders in the first cycle, the average mathematics learning intensity outside of school hours increased by 2.3 hours per week for junior high school students and 2.53 hours per week for senior high school students. In this first cycle, 50% of the junior high school students reached the target of 10 hours per week, whereas none of the senior high school students achieved the target of 6 hours per week. However, after three weeks in the second cycle, the average learning intensity increased to 12.76 hours per week for junior high school students and 7.56 hours per week for senior high school students, with 100% of the students meeting their respective targets. In conclusion, the use of a learning reminder application effectively increased the mathematics learning intensity among both junior and senior high school students outside of school hours, demonstrating its potential as a tool to enhance student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This purpose of this study was to investigate how well a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model supported by interactive Student Worksheets (LKPD) affected the tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Jember’s capacity for mathematical logical thought when studying quadratic equations. The experimental class received a PBL implementation based on interactive LKPD, whereas the control group received traditional instruction. According to the post-test analysis result, the experimental class student’s average score of 87,78 on the mathematical logical thinking ability exam was considerably higher than the control class's score of 74,36. According to the findings of the homogeneity test, tcalculated>ttable with a value of 4.84 > 1.99. Additionally, the experimental class outperformed the control class in the logical thinking indicators, with an overall average of 81.86% in the very high category and 65.03% in the high category. The results support the idea that students’ mathematical logical thinking skill can be enhanced by the use of interactive student worksheets (LKPD) in conjunction with the problem based learning (PBL) approach.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang kajian etnomatematika kerajinan anyaman bambu di lingkungan rumah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ibu rumah tangga sering menggunakan kerajinan anyaman bambu dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, terutama di dapur untuk memasak. Namun ada juga yang  menggangap kerajinan anyaman bambu tidak begitu penting karena bisa digantikan sengan bahan lain. Penulis juga mencatat bahwa bentuk kerajinan anyaman bambu bervariasi yang memuat konsep materi geometri pada bangun datar atau bangun ruang. Seperti tumbu pada bentuk permukaanya berbentuk lingkaran, tenggok bentuknya menyerupai tabung, tampah berbentuk lingkaran, kukusan berbentuk kerucut, dan kipas berbentuk persegi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa anyaman bambu memiliki peran dalam memahami konsep geometri, terutama di lingkungan rumah

Abstract

Based on the results of observations that have been carried out at SMP Negeri Kalisat, it was found that students' mathematical concept understanding abilities are still low. The purpose of this study was to analyze the improvement of students' mathematical concept understanding through the application of the PBL model with the TaRL approach in the material of root forms in class X.1 of SMA Negeri Kalisat. The type of research used was classroom action research which was carried out in two learning cycles. The subjects of this study were students of class X.1 of SMA Negeri Kalisat in the 2024/2024 academic year. The data collection instruments used included observation sheets for teacher activities, student activities, and tests of students' mathematical concept understanding abilities. The results of this study indicate that there was an increase in students' mathematical concept understanding abilities in the material of root forms in class X.1 of SMA Negeri Kalisat with an increase in the average ability of students' mathematical concept understanding abilities from 57.17 and a percentage of completion of 28.6% in cycle I increasing to 85.82 and a percentage of completion of 80% in cycle II.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores the effectiveness of the Polya Problem Solving Method in improving students' ability to solve word problems in mathematics at SMPN 17 Malang, Indonesia. The main objective is to determine whether this method can improve students' problem-solving abilities in the context of a linear equation system with two variables. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach is used, with two implementation cycles. Data was collected through pre- and post-test tests, classroom observations, and student interviews. These findings show a significant improvement in student performance, with the percentage of students meeting the Minimum Completeness Criteria (MCC) increasing from 36.3% in the pre-test to 84.84% after Cycle II. In addition, student engagement and teacher effectiveness increased markedly, especially in the second cycle, highlighting the importance of personalized support and active learning strategies. The results show that the Polya method can be very effective in fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills in mathematics. This study contributes to the existing literature by demonstrating the benefits of structured problem-solving methods in Indonesian secondary education. Further research is recommended to explore the long-term effects of this method and its application in different educational contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of errors that students often make in solving indefinite integral problems and develop effective scaffolding strategies to help students overcome these difficulties. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), by collecting and analyzing 15 research articles from 2014-2024 that are relevant to this topic. The results showed that frequent errors include conceptual, procedural, and computational errors. Some students had difficulty in understanding the basic concept of integral, while others made mistakes in applying the integral rules and proper solving procedures. Scaffolding is proven to be an effective strategy to improve students' understanding and skills in solving indefinite integral problems. By providing gradual and structured support, scaffolding helps students build strong conceptual understanding and overcome different types of errors. This study suggests the use of appropriate scaffolding strategies in mathematics learning to minimize students' errors and improve their achievement in solving indefinite integral problems. This research makes a significant contribution in the development of a more effective and focused approach to mathematics learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa MTs dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita ditinjau dari disposisi matematis. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTs Al Ihsan Blambangan pada kelas VII dengan jumlah 30 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni angket disposisi matematis, tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah siswa dengan disposisi matematis tinggi cenderung memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang berdisposisi sedang dan rendah. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan bahwa subjek dengan disposisi matematis tinggi memenuhi indikator pemecahan masalah menurut Polya, meliputi: memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melakukan rencana penyelesaian, dan memeriksa kembali. Subjek dengan disposisi sedang mampu memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melakukan penyelesaian, namun belum mampu memeriksa kembali. Selanjutnya subjek dengan disposisi rendah hanya mampu dalam memahami masalah.
