Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) to improve mathematics learning outcomes. This research uses a literature study approach with reference data including a number of previous studies that are combined and analyzed for generalization. This research uses content data analysis techniques on a number of valid information based on context. context. The results of the combination and analysis that have been carried out will be generalized. This research contains educational problems, especially in mathematics learning due to Covid-19, the nature of education, the definition of mathematics learning and the form of Problem Based Learning (PBL), as well as research evidence regarding the effectiveness of the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in mathematics learning. The results obtained are that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is proven to be more effective in improving student learning outcomes in mathematics learning. By utilizing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method, students can improve their learning outcomes. Students will be faster in understanding the material. In addition, with Problem Based Learning (PBL) students are also trained to always think critically in solving problems in everyday life.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Dalam penelitian ini, populasi yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas 10 SMA Negeri 12 Kabupaten Tangerang tahun pelajaran 2021-2022  dengan sampelnya adalah kelas 10 Mipa 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen, yaitu kelas yang diberikan perlakuan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning, dan kelas 10 Mipa 4 sebagai kelas kontrol, yaitu kelas yang diberikan pembelajaran biasa sesuai kurikulum K13. Materi dalam penelitian ini adalah sistem persamaan linear tiga variabel (SPLTV). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen (eksperimen semu). Teknik untuk mengumpulkan data dilakukan dengan tes dan dokumentasi . Analisis data menggunakan independent sample t-test. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran Problem Based Learning efektif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari hasil analisis menggunakan uji-t dari nilai pre-test dan post-test pada masing-masing kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dimana rata-rata hasil pembelajaran matematika kelas eksperimen lebih baik dibandingkan dengan rata-rata hasil pembelajaran matematika kelas kontrol.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze the ability of numeracy literacy in terms of metacognition skills of high school students. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were 33 students of class XI IPA 1 SMAN 21 Tangerang Regency. The subjects that will be studied are 3 students with numeracy literacy abilities who have different metacognitive skills, namely the high category, medium category, and low category. Data collection techniques used were written tests and task-based interviews. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data used triangulation techniques to check the test result data with interview data. There are 3 stages in the numeracy literacy ability of students who have metacognitive skills such as the planning stage, monitoring stage, and evaluation stage. The results of the study concluded that: (1) Students who have numeracy literacy skills in terms of metacognitive skills with high categories are able to fulfill the planning, monitoring and evaluation stages properly and correctly (2) the numeracy literacy abilities of students who have metacognitive skills in the medium category have able to meet the planning, monitoring, and evaluation stages even though they are not optimal, and (3) the numeracy literacy skills of students who have metacognitive skills in the low category are only able to fulfill the planning stage, while the monitoring and evaluation stages have not been able to fulfill optimally.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematical communication skills of students based on the results of surveys and previous research. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the differences in the improvement of mathematical communication skills and Self Confidence between students who received didactic-based mathematics learning and students who received conventional learning. This research is a quantitative research with quasi-experimental method and pretest – posttest control group design. This research was carried out in class X SMK Negeri 1 Bayah in the 2019/2020 school year by taking samples using random sampling techniques. The instruments used were tests and non-tests, namely mathematical communication tests, while non-tests were observations, interviews, and a Likert Self Confidence scale. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test because the data were not normally distributed. The results of this study are the improvement of mathematical communication skills and Self Confidence of students who receive didactic-based mathematics learning better than students who receive conventional learning. In addition, students with high initial mathematical abilities are better than students with moderate or low initial mathematical abilities in achieving mathematical communication skills and Self Confidence.

Abstract

The research was conducted to analyze the ability of mathematical representation in terms of learning styles through Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending (CORE). The ability of mathematical representation is very necessary for students, because with the ability of representation students can understand a concept and problem and turn it into a concrete form. This research is a mixed method research. The study was conducted at the Ciwaringin Islamic boarding school with subject class VII D as the experimental class and VII E as the control class. Data was collected through tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The results showed that the quality of learning through CORE on students' representational abilities was in the good category. Students with visual learning styles could use all indicators of mathematical representation to the maximum compared to students with auditory and kinesthetic learning styles

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika. Pada umumnya kemampuan pemahaman siswa berbeda-beda, hal ini dikaitkan dengan kemampuan awal yang dimiliki setiap siswa. Perbedaan kemampuan ini dapat dilihat dari respon siswa dalam menyelesaikan berbagai masalah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan awal matematika setiap siswa dalam memahami konsep bangun ruang sisi datar berdasarkan teori APOS (Action, Process, Object Scheme). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMPN 1 Ciruas sebanyak 6 orang. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematika siswa berbeda-beda untuk setiap kemampuannya. Siswa yang memiliki kemampuan awal matematika tinggi mencapai seluruh tahapan teori APOS mulai dari aksi, proses, objek dan skema. Sementara itu, siswa yang memiliki kemampuan awal matematika sedang dapat mencapai tahap aksi dan proses, tetapi belum mencapai indikator tahap objek dan skema. Sedangkan siswa yang memiliki kemampuan awal matematikanya rendah baru bisa mencapai tahap aksi dan belum mencapai indikator tahap proses, objek, dan skema.

Abstract

Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mengetahui learning obstacle yang dialami oleh siswa mengenai materi luas daerah segitiga. Sebagai subjek penelitian, penelitian ini mengambil 5 siswa yang telah mempelajari materi segitiga, 3 siswa kelas VII dan 2 siswa kelas VIII. Metode kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini karena relevan dengan tujuan penelitian. Pada penelitian ini, teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tertulis berupa soal uraian dan juga wawancara kepada setiap siswa yang telah melakukan tes. Penelitian yang telah dilakukan menghasilkan dua learning obstacle yang dialami oleh siswa, yaitu ontogenic obstacle dan epistemological obstacle.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan representasi matematis dan keterampilan literasi matematika yang dimiliki siswa ketika diberikan pengaruh pendekatan pemecahan masalah dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Kontrol Posttest-Only. Dua kelas yang dipilih secara acak diberikan perlakuan dan pada tahap terakhir diberikan tes kemampuan representasi matematis dan keterampilan literasi matematika. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs Syekh Manshur semester genap tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Kemampuan representasi matematis dan literasi diukur dengan tes yang telah valid dan reliabel. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji-t dengan taraf signifikansi 5% (= 0,05), disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan problem solving yang diterapkan pada pembelajaran matematika berpengaruh positif terhadap representasi dan kemampuan literasi siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and see the potential impact of a valid and reliable mathematical literacy instrument using the Banten Batik context for junior high school students. The subjects of this research were junior high school students at SMPN 7 Serang City. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) Plomp model which consists of 5 stages, namely self evaluation, expert reviews, one to one, small group, and field test. This research produced eight mathematical literacy instruments using the Banten Batik context which correspond to the level of mathematical literacy according to PISA and are valid and reliable. The instrument developed has a potential impact seen from students' ability to: (1) use basic algorithms, formulas and procedures, (2) follow instructions that have been given, (3) explain an operation and respond in a simple systematic form, (4) demonstrate understanding basics about functional relationships, (5) interpreting and using representations, (6) solving problems with undefined models obtained from reasoning abilities, (7) designing procedures through combining mathematical knowledge that is not stated explicitly in the problem, (8) mastering symbolic mathematical operations and formal and can explain the reasons for decision making in relation to the initial solution and problem.

Abstract

Understanding mathematical concepts is the understanding ability that students must have in mastering learning concepts and applying them in everyday life. This research aims to determine the influence of the TGT learning model assisted by Genially on the ability to understand mathematical concepts and interest in learning, the influence of the TGT learning model assisted by Genially on the ability to understand mathematical concepts, and the influence of the TGT learning model assisted by Genially on interest in learning. The research sample was students in classes VIII H, VIII I, and VIII J of SMPN 1 Natar. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling by collecting data in the form of tests and questionnaires. The test uses MANOVA test analysis. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it was concluded that there was an influence of the Genially assisted TGT model on understanding mathematical concepts and interest in learning, there was an influence of the Genially assisted TGT model on understanding mathematical concepts, and there was an influence of the Genially assisted TGT model on interest in learning.
