Abstract

The current research is entitled Relationship between Emotional Intelligence, Spiritual Intelligence in Students’ Academic Achievement. The objective of this research which were: 1) is there any significant correlations between Spiritual Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence simultaneously students in academic achievement. 2) Which one the aspects that influence spiritual intelligence and emotional Intelligence in academic achievement. This sample was taken simple purposive sampling. Instruments of this study used questionnaires and documentation. This study used a quantitative descriptive method. To know the answer hypothesis the researcher used analysis of multiple correlations. Based on the analysis quantitative descriptive showed that sig F change = 0.177, it means that the correlation between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence with simultaneously to the students' academic achievement is negligible refers to the table interpretation by Sugiyono (2012) who stated that the coefficient interval between 0,00-0,199 the qualification is negligible. The result of the formula about the significant multiple correlations between emotional and spiritual intelligence in students' academic achievement is = 1.8701652319935. Because the total significance is = 1.8701652319935 > 0,05, it concludes if there was no significant correlation between emotional and spiritual intelligence in students' academic achievement.Keywords: Correlation, Emotional Intelligence, Spiritual Intelligence.

Abstract

This research was about increasing students’ vocabulary mastery by using guessing game at the third grade of Madrasah Al-Munawwarah Tambun. The design of this research was pre experimental research. The sample of this research were the third grade that consists of 16 students. The data obtained from pre test and post test. In the pre test it was found that mean score of the student were 65,37 and in the post test were 79,87. Computation of the data tcount results was5,069while ttablewas 2,131. The result indicates that there is an increasement in students’ vocabulary mastery by using guessing game. It can be concluded that increasing vocabulary mastery by using guessing game is effective to increase students’ vocabulary mastery.Keywords: : Increasing, vocabulary mastery, Guessing game

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the significant difference between Clustering technique and Mind Mapping technique in improving students’ writing ability at the eight grade of SMPN 2 Tolitoli. It is a true-experimental research. It was conducted at eight grade of SMP Negeri 2 Tolitoli. The researcher gave a pre-test to measure the students’ previous ability in writing. Then, a post-test was to find out the students’ writing ability after given treatment which is the application of clustering and mind mapping technique. The researcher used SPSS 21 program to analyze the data collection. The result of data analysis showed that clustering technique and mind mapping technique gave a significance effect to the students in writing ability. The mean score of post test in mind mapping technique (71,00) was higher than the mean score of pre-test (32,33). And the mean score of post-test in clustering technique (68,10) was higher than the mean score of pre-test (34,76). Although, the improvement in mind mapping technique was more effective than clustering technique  but the testing of hypothesis showed that the value of tcount was lower than ttable (0,717≤2,021). Hence, there was no a significance difference in writing achievement score between students were taught to using clustering technique and mind mapping technique at the eight grade of SMPN 2 Tolitoli.Key words: Comparative, mind mapping technique, clustering technique, writing ability.

Abstract

This research is pre experimental research design consist of one group pre-test and post-test. The Population of this research is the Eight grade of MTs. Haji Hayuun Salumpaga in 2016/2017 academic year. The sample of this research is selected by using purposive sampling technique and the selected class is VIII B consisted of 24 students. In collecting the data, the researcher took from pre-test and post-test. The researcher analyzed the data by using SPSS program 16,0 . The result of the test showed that the students’ mean score in posttest 88.58 is higher than pretest 44.42. To know the significant difference between pretest and posttest, the researcher compared the value of t-counted and t-table by applying 0.05 level of significance for two-tailed test with 23 degree of freedom (24-1=23), the researcher found that the tcount (11.956) is higher than ttable (2.069) and the hypothesis of this research is accepted. The researcher concluded that using vocabulary card can increase students’ vocabulary mastery at Eight grade of MTs. Haji Hayyun Salumpaga.Keywords: Vocabulary Mastery, Vocabulary Card.

Abstract

The aimed of this research was to investigate the students’ perception toward the implementation Google meet as e-learning platform at the second-semester of Madako University. The design of this research was a qualitative research. The research samples were consisted of 16 students at B Class of 2th semester, which used purposive sampling. The data obtained from questionnaires and interviews. The technique used to analyze were percentage and Males and huberman. the data were analyzed through some steps among data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. from the data analysis, the researcher found some conclusion of students’ perception was perceived of usefulness (14%), actual use (19%), perceived ease to use (36%), attitude aspect (6%), behavior intention (12.5%) and computer self-efficacy (50%). in the result of interview included perceived of usefulness, actual use, perceived ease to use,  attitude aspect, behavior intention and computer self-efficacy.Key words: Students’ Perceptions, Google Meet, Implementation, LMS

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the students’ problems in speaking at second semester of English Department at Madako University. The data was collected from 16 students at Second Semester of English Department at Madako University by using purposive sampling technique. This research design used qualitative design mixed with quantitative approach. The instrument used to collect the data was questionnaire and documentation. From the result, the researcher found some conclusion of students’ problems in speaking. The first problem of the students in psychological, most students revealed that they have problem with their self confidence. The students feel shyness while speaking English. They also feel anxious when they would speak English. And next most of students fear of mistakes when speaking. There were some students feel lack of motivation. The second problem of the students in the language, there were three problems that make most students inactive in speaking English. Most students had problems in grammar; they did not understand the grammar rules. And then some students have problems in pronunciation; they did not know the correct pronunciation of words. And lack vocabulary became their third problem in speaking; they lacked vocabulary, so they always translated from Indonesia to English.

Abstract

The aimed of this research was to investigate the difficulties encountered by non-English department student at second semester of Madako University and the factors trigger in speaking English at second semester of Madako University. The design of this research was a qualitative research. The research samples were consisted of 15 students at A Class of 2th semester, which used purposive sampling. The data obtained from questionnaires and interviews. The data were analyzed through some steps among data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. From the data analysis, the researcher found some conclusion of students’ difficulties was lack of confidence from (50%), afraid of making mistake (60%), and less of English ability (67%) and the result of interview that researcher found the difficulties are vocabulary and pronunciation. The results of interview in internal factor that the researcher found are Interest, Intelligence, shy and nervous. Based on the data above the result of interview in external factor that found by researcher is student environment or classroom environment that is from Family and Lecturer

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of character education in Indonesian language learning. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were Indonesian language teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Tolitoli. Data collection was obtained from the results of document analysis interviews, and through observations. The analysis to determine the results of the study is according to the problems in the research. Abstract

This research aimed to find out whether picture and card media are effective and to compare which media is more effective to increase students’ vocabulary. This research is true-experimental research design. The samples were 10 students at class VIII IIS 1 and class VIII IIS 2 which selected randomly. Data collected through giving pre-test and post-test. The pre-test conducted to measure the students’ knowledge before giving the treatment, whereas the post-test accomplished to evaluate and to measure their ability and knowledge after giving the treatment. Those data analyzed statistically. In the card media group, the mean score of post-test is 75,04 was higher than pre-test 48,12 and the mean score of post-test in picture group is 84,84 was higher than pre-test 38,76. The t-counted value is higher than the t-table. f =7,529 > = 2,306 It means that the hypothesis of the research is accepted. In other words, using picture and card media in teaching English is effective to increase students’ vocabulary. Based on the result of pre-test and post-test in two media, it can be concluded that the picture media is more effective than card media in teaching English to increase students’ vocabulary especially on verb.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know is there any correlation between learning motivation and parents economic low condition toward students english achievement. This research is a correlation study. Data obtained from questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Data collection techniques in this study using random sampling. In measuring correlation, researcher used the SPSS 21 program. The results of this research indicates that the known that the learning motivation of students english achivement  is 0.188> 0.05. It shows that there is no correlation between learning motivation and students' English achivement. Second, parents economic low condition toward students english achivement is 0.29> 0.05. This shows that there is no correlation between parents economic low condition towards students english achievement. The final result, learning motivation and parents economic low condition toward students english achivement is similely 0.831> 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is no correlation between learning motivation and parents economic low condition toward students english achivement in class VIII MTs Alkhairat Ginunggung.
