Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain whether the interactive multimedia-based IIMSE learning paradigm is feasible and beneficial for teaching accounting to students in class XI at Budisatrya Private Vocational School in Medan. This kind of research uses the ASSURE model in conjunction with R&D product creation. Based on the validation of learning material experts (86.4%), learning design experts (88.1%), and media experts (90.6%), who all fall into the very feasible category, the research's findings indicate that the interactive multimedia-based IIMSE learning model is appropriate for use. Field trials came in at 85.6%, small group trials came in at 81.7%, and individual trials came in at 77.1%, all falling into the extremely feasible category. The hypothesis submission results demonstrate that the interactive multimedia-based IIMSE learning model is appropriate for use in accounting courses and that the learning outcomes of students treated with the interactive multimedia-based IIMSE learning model differ significantly from those of students treated with the conventional learning model. This is demonstrated by the data processing findings, which show that tcount > ttable (5.63>1.63) at the significance level α = 0.05 with df obtained t table = 50. We can conclude that there are disparities in the learning results before and after therapy, with Ho being rejected and Ha being accepted. As a result, student learning outcomes are improved by the IIMSE learning paradigm, which is based on interactive multimedia in accounting education.

Abstract

The objectives of the study are to design a problem-based learning-based teaching profession textbook using the ICARE (Introduction, Connection, Application, Reflection, Extension) pedagogical approach; to assess the viability and efficacy of a PBL-based teaching profession textbook. Using the Borg and Gall paradigm, this research methodology called research and development (R&D). The study was carried out at the FIP Unimed, PGSD Department, Teaching Profession course. Students and instructors with expert validation—that is, specialists in learning design, visual design, and materials—were the study's subjects. Additionally, by carrying out field, small-group, and individual trials. Expert validation from subject matter experts, learning design experts, and graphic design experts is required for the entire product's results. In order to identify a teaching profession textbook based on PBL and assess its viability and efficacy, the following step involves conducting individual, small group, and field trials as well as carrying out revisions and analysis. ANOVA and/or the t-test will be used to examine the quasi-experimental approach (pretest-posttest with control group design) and the study's findings. The study's findings show that the PBL-Based Teaching Profession Textbook is deemed useful and appropriate for use in the classroom, with the potential to enhance student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study focuses on employing a descriptive and qualitative research approach. The objective of this research is to discern similarities, differences, predictions of translating problems based on similarities and differences between English Idioms and their Indonesian equivalents. The analysis focuses on the book Tintin in America by Herge (1932). The results indicated the presence of 55 English idioms which consisted of 22 verbal idioms, 12 informal idioms, 5 idioms containing special keywords, 4 idioms related to specific themes, and 12 idiomatic pairs. Regarding the similarities and differences, within the Verbal Idiom category, researchers observed that there was 0 similarity between the 55 English Idioms and their Indonesian counterparts, and there were 55 differences between the 55 English Idioms and their Indonesian counterparts. Based on the differences, Indonesian learners may face problems when translating informal idioms, idioms containing special keywords, idioms related to specific themes, and idiomatic pairs. Within informal idioms, the Indonesian learners may make a mistake by translating, for example, It looks pretty phoney to me into *Bagi saya itu terlihat sangat palsu, instead of the better one Mencurigakan sekali. This is because the English expression is idiomatic, while its Indonesian equivalent is non-idiomatic. A word-by-word or literal translation is probably made due to the difference. The case may also happen when the Indonesian learners are translating idioms containing special keywords, idioms related to specific themes, and idiomatic pairs, for example: the English expression Good gracious! into the Indonesian equivalent *Baik hati, instead of the better one Astaga!; the English expression Glad to be back on my feet again into the Indonesian equivalent *Senang bisa kembali dengan kaki saya lagi, instead or the better one Senang sudah bisa jalan lagi; and the English expression The whole bunch of cut-throats into the Indonesian equivalent *Sejumlah pemotong tenggorokan, instead of the better one Semua bandit yang ada disini

Abstract

Emotional verbs are verbs that express a person's emotional or psychological state or action. This study uses the Natural Semantic Metalanguage (MSA) theory. MSA theory is a study of lexical semantics. The basic assumption of this theory is that complex meanings can be described using simpler configurations of meaning elements until they cannot be further described. The MSA theory used in this study is a framework for mapping meaning using basic components that can be understood by all native speakers. MSA theory is able to explain the lexical meaning of stative emotional verbs, while polysemy is used to understand emotional verbs in Ngoko Javanese with more than one meaning depending on the context of their use. Angry emotional verbs express a person's emotional or psychological actions in a state of anger. The purpose of this study is to describe angry emotional verbs in Ngoko Javanese. The importance of this research on angry emotional verbs in Ngoko Javanese is to see how the expression of angry emotional verbs in Javanese people who are known for being graceful, gentle and calm also has several verb expressions that express angry emotions. The emotional verbs of anger in Ngoko Javanese are ngamuk, greget, nesu, muring, ngelusuk, ngepruk, and ngerasa. This study takes the object of semantic study on the verb "similar to angry" in Ngoko Javanese. This study was conducted based on the data collected, namely the verb "similar to angry" spoken by the Javanese people. The main data in this study are sentences involving the verb "similar to angry" in Ngoko Javanese.

Abstract

This study examines the construction of experiential in the news text of the inauguration of members of the MPR/DPR/DPD RI for the period 2024-2029. The construction of experiential is a morphosyntactic construction where the subject experience something, feels a sensation, and experiences mental actions by the stimulus of the sentence object. The steps in this research method are carried out with the aim of finding structured, concrete answers through language phenomena that can be studied. Data collection was conducted using the observation method and note-taking technique. Data analysis was conducted using the distribution method and basic techniques for direct elements and advanced techniques of reading, marking, expanding, and changing forms. The results of this study show that the construction of experiential can be analyzed in the verbs of affection and verbs of cognition. The agent occupies the position of the subject mapped as the experiential or the object mapped as the stimulus or both can correspond in the sentence. The verbs of affection can involve or describe someone's feelings. In addition, the addition of two verb arguments can change the semantic role in the example of the verb "feel". The dative element found in the object of experiential in the verb to be and juxtaposed with adjectives describes quality. The purpose of the construction of experiential is to find a strong meaning in the relationship of subject - object or object - subject in the sentence and the semantic role bound in it. Therefore, it can be concluded that the semantic role and morphology is closely related to the syntactic structure in a sentence.

Abstract

This paper's objectives were to: (i) evaluate the iconic presentation of form in Nigerian poetry of English expression; and (ii) identify the textual organization and linguistic elements that serve as communicative signaling in Nigerian poetry. The study determines the implications of poetic discourse on society by using a qualitative research design to generate data and insights from the Peirce model of semiotic theory, specifically with regard to icons. Icons and a few sociolinguistic concepts, like the class variable, served as the foundation for this analysis. This study discovered that: 1. Nigerian poets employ iconic form presentation in their poetry. They can effectively convey their message to the readers by using this device. 2. Together, linguistic components and textual organization serve as articulate devices and communicative signaling, highlighting the expressive significance and implications of Nigerian poetry. The primary focus of literary creation ought to be moral principles. In a time like this, when people desperately need literary works that will change some "maladaptive behavior" in members of society, no work of literature that merely entertains and does not educate the general public can meet the needs of society. Given this, it is advised that poets from Nigeria in particular, as well as literary writers generally, question the moral decay of society and offer solutions. This can be accomplished by presenting the decadence of society in an iconic manner. If applied, social iconization will lead to intellectualism that corrects society's problems.

Abstract

Finding out whether PBL-based differentiated e-modules are feasible, practical, and effective are the three main objectives of this project. This study uses the ADDIE paradigm (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) in conjunction with the Research and Development (R&D) technique. Thirty seventh-grade earth and solar system students served as the study's subjects. In addition to phases of individual trials, small group trials, and field trials, this study included validation tests conducted by professionals in media, instructional design, and materials. The study's findings revealed: In the Very Feasible category, Material Experts scored 85.09, while Learning Design Experts scored 92.87. Extremely feasible Experts in Media Design scored 89.44 in the category of Very Feasible. Field trials scored 87.29 in the Very Feasible category, small group trials scored 87.30, and individual trials scored 87.27 in the Very Feasible category. At a significance threshold of α = 0.05, the computation yielded tcount = 4.256 and ttable = 1.67, indicating that tcount > ttable. These findings indicate that, at a significance level of 5%, there is a substantial difference between the learning outcomes of the students in the experimental and control classes, with H0 being rejected and Ha being accepted. According to the efficacy test's computation, According to the data, students who get instruction using PBL-based differentiated E-modules achieve better learning outcomes than those who receive printed books (81.25% > 73.33%). Therefore, it can be said that the Science on Earth and Solar System class VII PBL-based differentiated E-modules at SMP N 43 Medan are superior to using printed books.
