Abstract

The background of this study is the existence of Indonesia as a country that has a high level of disaster vulnerability. The 2013 Indonesia Disaster Risk Index data shows there are 80% of Indonesia's territory at high risk of disaster, including 205 million people exposed to disaster risk. Disaster management efforts must continue to be sought. Literacy education has a strategic role in disaster management at the pre-disaster stage. The study aims to describe the description of non-structural disaster mitigation in multicultural education, which includes preparation, implementation and assessment of learning processes. This research is a library research with a qualitative approach that is descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted using several primary and secondary references related to literacy and disaster management education. The implementation of non-structural disaster mitigation learning is carried out in five stages. Namely (1) Learning disasters; (2) Environmental surveys; (3) Map of disaster vulnerability; (4) Presentations and discussions; and (5) Disaster management practices. Core competencies and basic competencies in each of these stages refer to the competencies expected by students in multikeaksaraan education. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah keberadaan Indonesia sebagai negara yang mempunyai tingkat kerentanan bencana yang tinggi. Data Indeks Resiko Bencana Indonesia 2013 menunjukkan terdapat 80% wilayah Indonesia yang berisiko tinggi terhadap bencana, mencakup 205 juta jiwa terpapar pada risiko bencana. Upaya penanggulanan bencana harus terus diusahakan. Pendidikan keaksaranan mempunyai peran yang strategis dalam penanggulanan bencana pada tahap prabencana. Penelitian bertujuan mendeskripsikan gambaran mitigasi bencana non struktural di pendidikan multikeaksaraan, yang meliputi persiapan, proses pelaksanaan dan penilaian pembelajarannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan beberapa referensi baik primer maupun sekunder yang terkait dengan pendidikan keaksaraan dan penanggulangan bencana. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran mitigasi bencana non struktural dilakukan dalam lima tahapan. Yaitu (1) Belajar bencana; (2) Survei lingkungan; (3) Peta kerawanan bencana; (4) Presentasi dan diskusi; dan (5) Praktek cara penanggulangan bencana. Kompetensi inti dan kompetensi dasar dalam setiap tahapan tersebut mengacu pada kompetensi yang diharapkan dimiliki oleh peserta didik dalam pendidikan multikeaksaraan.

Abstract

Education cannot be separated from literacy. Even the conception is one of the benchmarks of the Human Development Index (HDI) conducted by UNDP. Today, the concept of literacy can not only be the ability of reading, writing and counting, but rather emphasize the functions of those skill in everyday life. One of the literacy education programs that becomes the focus of the government through the Directorate of Literacy and Equality Education Development is KUM. In its practice in the community, independent business literacy has been widely applied by various non-formal education units. Various non-formal education units have now been widely applied in Indonesia, both by the public, the private sector and individuals. The establishment of various non-formal education units is not only based on the philosophy of non-formal education, but more because of the needs felt by the community. The researcher is interested in doing an investigation related to the implementation of Independent Business Literacy in Tuyau Village with the aim of maintaining and developing literacy of students who have followed and / or achieved the basic literacy competencies through the introduction of the ability to independently work. In this study, the approach used was a qualitative approach with survey methods, through the stages of data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. Referring to the learning process and the final assessment of independent business literacy conducted in Tuyau Village, East Barito Regency, it is known that students who were declared graduated and entitled to obtain SUKMA-L were 89 people. While the other students, 11 students, were declared not graduated for various reasons. As for the students who have not graduated (who has not reach the established competency standard yet), the treatment is still being given until now intensively and continuously.

Abstract

Literacy education was initially limited to efforts to provide basic reading, writing and numeracy skills. Then it developed into literacy in various ways not just reading and writing but also literacy in various aspects of life. The regulation was made by the government which emphasized that through literacy education in two forms, namely basic literacy education and advanced literacy education in the form of independent business literacy and multi-literacy. In terms of advanced literacy education it is essentially based on the study that with advanced literacy education not necessarily the community-students are able to empower themselves as they deserve. This is related to the problem of continuity of learning activities and achievement motivation. If students after advanced literacy education can carry out continuous learning activities reinforced by the presence of achievement motivation, it is possible for them to strengthen their literacy abilities. It can be concluded that the continuity of learning activities and achievement motivation allows students to empower themselves in literacy. Pendidikan keaksaraan awalnya terbatas pada upaya memberikan kemampuan membaca, menulis dan berhitung dasar. Kemudian berkembang menjadi keaksaraan dalam berbagai hal tidak hanya sekedar baca tulis hitung tetapi juga keaksaraan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Regulasi pun dibuat oleh pemerintah yang menegaskan bahwa melalui pendidikan keaksaraan dengan dua bentuk yaitu pendidikan keaksaraan dasar dan pendidikan keaksaraan lanjutan berupa keaksaraan usaha mandiri dan multikeaksaraan. Dalam hal pendidikan keaksaraan lanjutan secara esensi berdasarkan kajian bahwa dengan pendidikan keaksaraan lanjutan tidak serta merta masyarakat- peserta didik mampu memberdayakan dirinya sebagaimana layaknya. Hal ini terkait dengan persoalan kontinuitas kegiatan belajar dan motivasi berprestasi. Jika peserta didik pasca pendidikan keaksaraan lanjutan dapat melakukan kontinutas kegiatan belajar diperkuat oleh adanya motivasi berprestasi, maka dimungkinkan mereka semakin kuat kemampuan keberaksaraannya. Dapatlah disimpulkan bahwa dengan kontinuitas kegiatan belajar dan motivasi berprestasi memungkinkan peserta didik dapat memberdayakan dirinya dalam keberaksaraan

Abstract

The problem in this research is how the empowerment economic literacy of women through skills hydroponic training in “Ruang Edukasi PenMas”. Other research goal is surely to describe how the process and outcomes of women's empowerment economic literacy through skills training hydroponic in “Ruang Edukasi PenMas”. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, data collection by observation, interviews, documentation. The results of the research show that empowering women's economic literacy, as: a). the purpose of this empowerment is to empower women with certain vocational skills in the form of guided groups, b). carry out the process of empowering women's economic literacy through the stages of identifying learning needs and conducting participatory learning, c). The results of the preliminary training showed that knowledgeable participants knew about how to plant in a very limited field and participants had an entrepreneurial attitude to become hydroponic farmers. d). Evaluation of this activity is carried out through evaluation of training programs and impact evaluations. Empowerment of economic literacy through hydroponic skills training provides independence to the mentee community of “Ruang Edukasi PenMas”, namely participants are able to grow hydroponic vegetables on narrow land, and the emergence of entrepreneurial spirit by being able to sell their crops.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the phenomenon of visual literacy in social media Instagram. In addition to examining the motives, experience, and behavior change results conducted by social media Instagram users. This study used a qualitative research approach to the research methodology with Phenomenology, for wanting to explore the phenomenon occurs. The four informants were selected using a purposive technique to those who utilize media Instagram as a learning tool. Data collection techniques are used secondary data review and interviews. The results showed that the use of the media by learning as Instagram affected by a variety of motive media information needs. Experience is perceived by users as a form of communication, learning Instagram is an experience that must be continually honed so that the ability to understand visual media will increase. Visual literacy is necessary at this time because it can counteract the hoax news and can develop the ability of people in the era of digitalization. The use of literacy ability is supported with Instagram visual can encourage changes in attitudes, behaviors and cognitions towards the better. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali fenomena keterbutuhan literasi visual dalam pemanfaatanya pada media sosial Instagram. Selain itu untuk mengkaji motif, pengalaman, dan perubahan perilaku hasil yang dilakukan oleh pengguna media sosial Instagram. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan metodologi penelitian fenomenologi, karena ingin menggali fenomena yang terjadi dan keterbaruannya. Empat informan yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive yaitu mereka yang memanfaatkan media Instagram sebagai sarana belajar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara dan kajian data sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Instagram sebagai media pembelajaran dilatarbelakangi oleh berbagai motif kebutuhan media informasi. Pengalaman yang dirasakan oleh pengguna Instagram sebagai bentuk komunikasi pembelajaran merupakan pengalaman yang harus terus diasah sehingga kemampuan memahami media visual akan meningkat. Literasi visual sangat dibutuhkan saat ini karena dapat menangkal berita bohong dan dapat mengembangkan kemampuan masyarakat di era digitalisasi. Penggunaan Instagram didukung dengan kemampuan literasi visual dapat mendorong perubahan dalam sikap, perilaku dan kognisi kearah yang lebih baik.

Abstract

Abstrak: The key to successful of community empowerment is the implementation of education that is in accordance with the needs of the community. Learning needs of the community can be known by to use learning needs analysis. Information on adequate learning needs is needed to produce a strategy and ways to improve the quality of education, especially for people who cannot get educational opportunities on formal education.This study aims to find out the learning needs of the Alternative Path of Puncak II community in Sukamakmur District, Bogor Regency, West Java. The approach of this research is descriptive research using survey methods.The results showed the learning needs of the community were learning needs to foster motivation to work, learning needs to improve television, the need to learn the techniques of playing football, good moral learning needs, learning needs of Arabic, learning needs of agricultural science, the need to learn healthy dietary habits and nutritious, the need to learn good ways of speaking, learning needs to know how to become a good citizen, and the need to learn catering and workshop services.

Abstract

Keaksaraan merupakan fondasi penting dalam peradaban manusia, dimana pada masa sekarang ini keaksaraan tidak hanya dimaknai sebagai membaca, menulis dan berhitung saja, tetapi lebih kepada kemampuan implementatif dan adaptif terhadap tantangan maupun peluang dalam lingkup kehidupan sehari-hari. Melalui keaksaraan juga lah, keberhasilan pendidikan dan perkembangan manusia sering kali diukur dan menjadi salah satu indikator keberhasilan di sebuah negara. PKBM Luthfillah sebagai salah satu satuan pendidikan nonformal di Kota Palangka Raya berdomisili di lingkungan rentan konflik yang biasa disebut dengan “Kampung Texas”, dimana penduduknya mayoritas merupakan pendatang dari Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan. Sebagian besar dari mereka datang dengan harapan untuk memiliki kehidupan yang lebih baik, namun alih-alih mencapai “mimpi” tersebut, mereka justru menambah permasalahan baru karena membawa penduduk buta aksara, anak putus sekolah dan pengangguran sehingga berdampak pula pada pembentukan karakter wilayah yang tidak baik. Berbagai inovasi telah dilakukan melalui mapping life untuk calon peserta didik, inovasi peminatan keterampilan bagi peserta didik yang diajarkan mata pelajaran keterampilan fungsional. Selanjutnya sejak tahun 2017, PKBM ini juga mengembangkan inovasi kelas kompetensi (Competence Class), yakni kelas kompetensi dipelopori oleh tutor mata pelajaran pengembangan kepribadian profesional. Hasil penerapan strategi perubahan karakter positif peserta didik yaitu cinta kepada Allah Swt, Kerjasama, Kreatif, Percaya Diri dan Disiplin sehingga peserta didik mampu mengubah dirinya sendiri untuk lebih berdaya bagi pribadi, keluarga dan masyarakat. Literacy is an important foundation in human civilization, where it is not only interpreted as reading, writing and arithmetic, but is more about implementing and adaptive abilities to challenges and opportunities in the scope of daily life. It is also through literacy that the success of education and human development is often measured and is one indicator of success in a country. Community Learning Center Luthfillah as one of the nonformal education units in Palangka Raya residing in a conflict-prone environment commonly referred to as “Texas Village”, where the majority of the population is migrants from South Kalimantan Province. Most of them come with hopes to have a better life, but instead of achieving the "dream", they actually add new problems because it brings illiterate residents, children dropping out of school and unemployed so that it also affects the formation of regional character that is not good at all. Various innovations have been made through life mapping for prospective students, skills specialization innovations for students who are taught functional skills subjects. Furthermore, since 2017, this CLC has also developed an innovation competency class, namely the competency class which spearheaded by a tutor in the subject of professional personality development. The results of implementing the positive character change strategy of students namely love for Allah Swt., Cooperation, Creative, Self-Confidence and Discipline so that students are able to change themselves to be more empowered for the person, family and society.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi digital yang dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yaitu: 1) keaktifan penggunaan media online, 2) prestasi akademik, 3) peran orangtua atau keluarga terhadap 4) intensitas membaca dan 5) kemampuan literasi digital. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survey. Responden penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa fakultas Ekonomi IBM asmi dengan pengambilan sampel purposive sebanyak 120 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen angket dan tes kemampuan literasi digital. Analisis statistik yang digunakan menggunakan pengujian analisis jalur, agar terlihat pengaruh secara langsung dan tidak langsung. Hasil menunjukan terdapat pengaruh antara penggunaan media online terhadap kemampuan literasi digital secara signifikan, nilai akademik terhadap kemampuan literasi digital berpengaruh secara signifikan, peran orangtua terhadap kemampuan literasi digital berpengaruh secara signifikan dan intensitas membaca terhadap kemampuan literasi digital berpengaruh secara signifikan. Terdapat pengaruh tidak langsung antara keaktifan penggunaan media online, prestasi akademik, peran orangtua melalui intensitas membaca terhadap kemampuan literasi digital.

Abstract

A number of people in big cities today have tended to have different educational institutions were seen as more feasible and more appropriate for their children to attend school, educational institutions are called LCS. Bulukumba as one tourist city in Indonesia already has a community organizer for such an educational institution. Studio Learning Activities (SKB) which is located in Bulukumba shaft is one of the organizing institutions Basic Literacy (KD), which is well known and is a best practice to the institutions. Therefore these institutions should be reviewed and problems that need to be raised is how the home school operations carried out in the institution. This study aims to gain an overview of (1) the pattern of implementation SKB, especially with respect to curriculum, workforce, students, infrastructure, financing, institutional, and partnerships, and (2) the pattern of Education held in "SKB" Bulukumba, especially with respect to strategies implemented in the learning process they call with the term: comunity visit, home visit, and distance learning. To achieve the above objectives, the research was conducted with a qualitative approach with case study design. Information collected by (1) interview, (2) documentation, and (3) observation. Determination of resources starting from key informants and informant continued with another snowball. Data were analyzed with (1) data reduction, (2) the presentation of the data, and (3) a conclusion, and triangguluasi. The results of this study indicate that the pattern of implementation and learning patterns SKB Bulukumba very unique. The uniqueness can be seen from the curriculum applied a reference of learning for each student according to their learning needs. Characteristics of diverse learners shows that the educational services provided be multy multy grade and subject. The existence of the Internet is the primary requirement for continuity of the learning process. Competencies that must be mastered by the tutor as PP 19 In 2005 an absolute requirement that must be mastered by tutors who are responsible for assisting the process of learning. To improve the quality of service, network with other home school community is always woven by SKB Bulukumba. applied learning pattern by the Dolan School of three patterns, From these results, the suggestions put forward include (1) Have focused on the application of the concept of the approach leaders / stakeholders in the LCS, because the learning process is still focused on the learner. New parents just learning through asking and direct observation in the field. They have not yet fully used as a subject of study. Supposedly with the concept that the LCS is a home school, families of learners that should also be the subject of study, to be able to help learners outside of SKB, and (2) to support the orderly administration in organizing learning activities, where educators are indispensable.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the readability of the procedural script, the readability of the learning curriculum, the readability of teaching materials of Sasaknase folklore books, the effectiveness of the script implementation, and the effectiveness of increasing reading interest of the students through Sasaknese folklore to their literacy understanding. It is conducted by using quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data analysis is carried out by employing descriptive and t-test analysis. The result of the research shows that there is a significant influence of the growing interest in reading through Sasaknese folklore towards students’ literacy enhancement.
