Abstract

The Silungkang Formation, part of the Peusangan Group in the Ombilin Basin of West Sumatra, Indonesia, has long been classified as a siliciclastic unit. However, recent fieldwork and petrographic analysis from limestone outcrops near Taratak Banca Village suggest there may have been carbonate development in the area during the Paleozoic. Observations in the field show a greyish white, weathered limestone with a crystalline texture. Although there were no visible fossils were found, the carbonate rock shows signs of tropical weathering and surface dissolution. Thin section analysis reveals that the limestone is made up almost entirely of calcite (around 98%), with a small amount of opaque minerals. The calcite grains, which range from 0.3 to 1.5 mm, display strong birefringence, moderate relief, and sutured grain boundaries—signs of extensive recrystallization. Other geological features like calcite-filled microfractures and quartz veins show an influence of tectonic activity, likely related to regional orogeny processes. The absence of fossils and the highly crystallize calcite mineral suggest it has undergone considerable diagenetic alteration, that could possibly related depositional environment of a deeper marine setting followed by post-depositional changes. Despite the lack of fossil evidence, the carbonate characteristics interpreted deposited at a mid- to outer-ramp carbonate setting that was later deformed and recrystallized. These findings highlight the potential for previously unrecognized Paleozoic carbonate systems in Southeast Asia and open new possibilities for understanding the Silungkang Formation. Ongoing research could help refine its place in regional paleogeographic models and provide insight into the evolution of early Paleozoic carbonate platforms in western Indonesia.

Abstract

The agriculture and aquaculture sector has adopted the concept  of smart farming based on the Internet of Things (IoT) to monitor and control the cultivation environment with precision. However, the efficiency achieved in the pre-harvest phase is often stopped in the post-harvest phase, especially in yield counting activities. The manual calculation process is highly inefficient and prone to human error, which has a direct impact on logistics management and agribusiness profitability. To overcome these inefficiencies, this study proposes the design and implementation of an automated crop yield counting system that integrates Image Processing and IoT technologies. The system is designed to use cameras and image processing algorithms to accurately detect and calculate the quantity of crops. The calculated data is sent to  the IoT cloud platform for real-time storage and access  through  the Android mobile app. The hardware framework includes microcontrollers such as the ESP32/ESP8266, which have proven reliable in other IoT monitoring systems. The expected result of this study is a prototype system that is able to calculate crop yields with a high level of accuracy and speed that far exceeds manual methods. The Android app implementation provides an intuitive monitoring and control interface, allowing users to access historical and real-time data  at any time. The main contribution of this research is to bridge the digitalization gap in the post-harvest phase, as well as provide fast, accurate, and digitized solutions to support comprehensive precision agriculture management.

Abstract

Aviation safety is strongly influenced by the performance of Air Traffic Controllers (ATC), particularly in operational decision-making. High air traffic density, time pressure, shift work, and safety responsibilities can generate work-related stress that may affect the quality of ATC decision-making. This study aims to analyze the effect of work stress on the quality of decision-making among Air Traffic Controllers at the Tower and Approach/Terminal units of the Jakarta Air Traffic Service Center (JATSC). The research employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The sample consists of 39 active ATC selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires measuring work stress and decision-making quality. Data analysis included validity and reliability tests, statistical assumption testing, and correlation and simple linear regression analysis. The results of this study are expected to provide empirical evidence regarding the relationship between work stress and ATC decision-making quality and to serve as an evaluation reference for air navigation service providers in improving safety performance.

Abstract

Suboptimal waste management has the potential to produce leachate that can pollute groundwater. This study aims to identify the presence, depth, and distribution of leachate around the Temporary Disposal Site (TPS) of the Sumatra Institute of Technology using the Wenner Alpha configuration geoelectric resistivity method with the Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) approach. Data acquisition was carried out on several tracks with an electrode spacing of 5 m. The data were processed using Res2DInv software to obtain a two-dimensional resistivity cross-section. The results show a low resistivity zone (<10 Ωm) which is interpreted as an indication of leachate at shallow to medium depths, with a lateral distribution following local lithological conditions. These findings indicate the potential for groundwater pollution around the ITERA TPS. This study is expected to be the basis for environmental management and groundwater pollution mitigation.

Abstract

Islamic education has a strategic role in shaping the character and personality of students, one of which is through the tahfizh Al-Qur'an program in elementary schools. As public interest in educational institutions that are oriented towards strengthening Qur'anic values increases, it is necessary to manage a planned and systematic tahfizh program so that learning goals can be achieved optimally. However, in practice, there are still various challenges related to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the tahfizh program. Therefore, this study aims to examine and analyze the management of the tahfizh Al-Qur'an program which includes planning, organizing, implementing, as well as supervision and evaluation at the Baitul Insan Pesawaran Integrated Islamic Elementary School and Al Banna South Lampung Integrated Islamic Elementary School. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies with the research subjects of the principal, tahfizh program coordinators, tahfizh teachers, and homeroom teachers. The results of the study show that the planning of the tahfizh program in the two schools has been systematically prepared through the determination of memorization targets according to the level and ability of the students, the preparation of the tahfizh curriculum, and the arrangement of activity schedules. The organization of the program is carried out with a clear division of tasks and coordination between school elements. The implementation of the tahfizh program is carried out programmatically through the methods of talaqqi, ziyadah, muraja'ah, tasmi', and tahsin, while supervision and evaluation are carried out through monitoring of memorization achievements and periodic evaluation of teacher performance and student development. Overall, the management of the tahfizh program at SDIT Baitul Insan Pesawaran and SDIT Al Banna South Lampung has been running quite effectively and structured in supporting the achievement of students' memorization targets. Nevertheless, it is still necessary to strengthen the aspects of consistency in evaluation and the development of learning method innovations so that the quality of memorization and the sustainability of the program are more optimal. This research is expected to be a reference in the development of the management of the Qur'an tahfizh program in Islamic educational institutions at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study focuses on evaluating the correlation between learning motivation and students’ analytical ability in physics, as well as comparing these two variables from a gender perspective. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational–comparative research design, the study involved 50 students of grade XII MIA (8 male students and 42 female students). The results indicate that: (1) there is a very strong and significant correlation between learning motivation and students’ analytical ability in physics learning (r = 0.935; Sig. 0.000 < 0.05); and (2) there is no significant difference in either analytical ability or learning motivation between male and female students. It can be concluded that learning motivation is a key factor influencing students’ success in physics analysis, regardless of gender differences.

Abstract

Learning for children with special needs requires instructional approaches that can accommodate the diversity of students’ characteristics, potentials, and learning needs. One relevant approach is strength-based individual learning, which is designed by building on students’ potentials and strengths. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of strength-based individual learning as a strategy to enhance the engagement and independence of children with special needs at SLB Negeri Sumenep. This research employed a qualitative approach using Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of three students with special needs who had different types of learning barriers. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out qualitatively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of strength-based individual learning significantly increased students’ learning engagement, as indicated by improvements in attention, active participation, and emotional involvement during the learning process. In addition, students’ learning independence also improved, as evidenced by reduced dependence on teacher assistance and increased ability to complete tasks independently. These findings indicate that strength-based individual learning is an effective and applicable strategy for improving the quality of education for children with special needs in special schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran kepemimpinan pelayan (servant leadership) dalam membangun sinergi kerja tim, meningkatkan kepuasan kerja, dan menciptakan iklim positif di lingkungan madrasah. Kepemimpinan pelayan, dengan karakteristik inti seperti empati, kerendahan hati, pemberdayaan, dan fokus pada pertumbuhan orang lain, diduga menjadi fondasi yang relevan dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif, mengumpulkan dan menganalisis berbagai sumber pustaka seperti artikel jurnal, buku, dan publikasi ilmiah terkait. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan pelayan berkontribusi signifikan terhadap: (1) peningkatan sinergi kerja tim melalui penguatan kolaborasi, komunikasi terbuka, dan rasa saling percaya; (2) peningkatan kepuasan kerja guru dan tenaga kependidikan melalui perasaan dihargai, didukung, dan diberdayakan; serta (3) terciptanya iklim organisasi yang positif yang ditandai dengan kepercayaan, rasa aman, dan fokus kolektif pada misi pendidikan. Dengan demikian, implementasi kepemimpinan pelayan oleh kepala madrasah tidak hanya selaras dengan nilai-nilai keislaman tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai pondasi strategis untuk mengoptimalkan kinerja institusi secara holistik. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar konsep servant leadership diintegrasikan dalam pelatihan dan pengembangan kepemimpinan di madrasah.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze differences in learning outcomes and critical thinking skills between male and female students in the subject of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education. The research employed a quantitative approach with a comparative method. The study participants were Grade XI students selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data on learning outcomes and critical thinking skills were collected through tests that had been validated and tested for reliability, and subsequently analyzed using comparative statistical tests. The results indicated significant differences in learning outcomes and critical thinking skills between male and female students in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education. Female students tended to achieve higher mean scores than male students. These findings suggest that gender is associated with students’ learning achievement and critical thinking abilities. The study concludes that it is important to implement learning strategies in Islamic Religious Education that are responsive to students’ differing characteristics in order to promote a more equitable and effective learning process.

Abstract

The Bukit Duabelas National Park (BDNP) area, Sarolangun Regency, is located within the Jambi Sub-Basin, which forms part of the South Sumatra Basin and has long been recognized as a hydrocarbon-producing region. This study aims to evaluate the geochemical characteristics of the Lower Talang Akar Formation source rock, including organic matter quantity, quality, thermal maturity, organic matter origin, and depositional environment. The applied methods include Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analysis, Rock-Eval Pyrolysis, vitrinite reflectance (Ro), and biomarker analysis using Gas Chromatography (GC) and Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC–MS) on shale outcrop samples. The results indicate that the Lower Talang Akar Formation contains very good to excellent organic matter richness, with TOC values ranging from 3.18% to 4.71%. The organic matter quality is dominated by Type II kerogen, indicating a strong potential for oil generation. Biomarker analyses suggest that the organic matter is primarily derived from algal and bacterial sources with contributions from terrestrial input, deposited in a transitional (paralic) environment under anoxic to suboxic conditions. Based on Tmax values, vitrinite reflectance, and biomarker maturity parameters, the Lower Talang Akar Formation source rock is classified as thermally immature. Despite its immature maturity level, the geochemical characteristics indicate favorable hydrocarbon potential. These findings provide an important basis for further hydrocarbon exploration and support the designation of the Bukit Duabelas National Park area as a geological heritage (geoheritage) site with significant scientific value within the Jambi Sub-Basin.
