Abstract

The increase in foundation bearing capacity is crucial for the RDMP project, which is a National Strategic Project in Indonesia. This study analyzes the casting of micro pile foundations using the Jet Grouting method, an alternative grouting technique used to enhance foundation bearing capacity. The research involves site selection, planning, implementation of Jet Grouting, and analysis of foundation bearing capacity using the Mayerhoff method and Standard Penetration Test (SPT) data. This method injects high-pressure grouting material into the ground, forming solid columns that support refinery infrastructure and improve the soil strength around the foundation. The results show an increase in foundation bearing capacity and soil strength, with Mayerhoff method results of 6,200.08 kN and SPT results of 3,476.98 kN. In conclusion, Jet Grouting successfully improves foundation bearing capacity and becomes an innovative and effective method for geotechnical challenges in specific projects, providing new insights for construction practitioners on optimizing foundation bearing capacity in the RDMP project.

Abstract

There are many regulations that can be used as work standards in planning building structures. Structural Concrete Requirements for Buildings SNI 03-2847-2013 is the standard used in Indonesia, but other standards, such as British Standard 8110-01-1997, are also used. The aim of this research is to determine the difference in beam structure calculations using the SNI 03-2847-2013 method and British Standard 8110-1997. In this research, the analysis method includes preparation, calculation and drawing conclusions, as well as recommendations. The calculation stage includes a comparison of SNI 03-2847-2013 with British Standard 8110-01-1997. The calculation results show different reinforcement dimensions for SNI and British Standard.

Abstract

The budget calculation is one of the most important aspects in a construction project, beside time and qualities. There are several methods that we can use to estimate how much material is needed, including SNI 2013 and AHSP method. However, these 2 methods have to be implemented meticulously to reduce overbudget and material wastage.  The data come from the list of working items that is used as a bid by the company owner, the standard given by the project manager, and items price list of each working part. The purpose of this research is to compare and find which method is the most effective in controlling the project expenditure. Also, researcher will explained how to calculate data as well as the advantage and weakness of both methods that have been mentioned above.

Abstract

Batam City is one of the cities that experiences significant traffic congestion problems, especially around the Traffic Light intersection. This research aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence the smoothness of traffic at the Batam City Traffic Light Intersection, as well as designing integrated solutions to overcome these problems. Through study stages involving data collection, analysis of key factors causing traffic jams, and modeling the impact of each factor, this research tries to provide recommendations for improving infrastructure, redesigning intersections, using traffic light technology, and providing education to motorists. It is hoped that the results of this research can serve as a guide for the government and stakeholders in improving traffic management and quality of life in Batam City.

Abstract

One of the AJDP service providers in Bali is Adhi Transport which has 3 fleets on the Denpasar-Buleleng route. The aim of the research is to determine vehicle operating costs, income and analyze the level of financial feasibility of transportation operations. The data used in this research includes secondary data (company financial data) obtained through interviews and questionnaire surveys with agencies. The main indicators to pay attention to are NPV, BCR, and IRR. The results obtained are vehicle operating costs of Rp. 334,108,000/year, income Rp. 6223,100,000/year. The NPV value is IDR. 634,943,527 > 0, BCR 1.17 > 1, and IRR 42.99% > 16%. The conclusions obtained from the results of the investment analysis are financially feasible.

The PTC Mathcad application software has a built-in matrix method, which makes it very easy to use to create simple structural analysis programs using the stiffness matrix method. Abstract

The construction project of the Polresta Denpasar Multi-Purpose Building experienced delays due to the Eid al-Fitr holiday, resulting in a 9.35% setback, equivalent to 19 days. In the 20th week, the planned progress was 66.52%, but actual progress was only 57.17%. With 76 days remaining for the project's completion, the least cost analysis method was applied to find the optimal cost and time for completing the remaining work by increasing the workforce. This approach aims to ensure the project is completed on time and the contractor avoids penalties. The penalty is 1/1000 (1 ‰) of the contract value. The analysis used primary data such as interviews and project observations, and secondary data including contractor unit price analysis, budget plans (RAB), and S-curves. The data was analyzed from the remaining project work, crashing duration, to finding the cost slope for each task, and then using the least cost analysis method to determine the optimal cost and time. The analysis results showed that the optimized project cost after acceleration was Rp 3,077,713,130.90, with the project duration reduced from 76 days to 57 days, accelerated by 19 days. This acceleration saved costs by Rp 18,428,493.93. By applying this method, the project is expected to be completed faster without compromising quality, and the contractor can avoid delay penalties. This approach helps in time efficiency and budget management, ensuring all resources are used optimally and the project is completed on target.

Abstract

A landslide event occurred in Sukarami, Lahat Regency, in early 2024. This study investigates the landslide mechanism, analyzes the influence of groundwater level rise and load on slope stability, and proposes a management concept. The methodology employed a landslide survey, soil investigation, and limit equilibrium-based stability analysis. Field investigations and surveys revealed that the landslide resulted from a decrease in the shear strength parameter of the surrounding soil layer triggered by rainfall and road drainage runoff. The slip plane, located within a soft to medium consistency clay layer, exhibits high susceptibility to water-induced instability. Numerical simulations demonstrated a negative correlation between groundwater level and slope safety factor, particularly when the water table reaches the critical slip plane. The implementation of a combined gabion, DPT, and minipile reinforcement system can enhance slope stability and elevate the safety factor to meet established standards. Notably, the addition of vehicle loads up to 30 kN/m2 exerted an insignificant influence on slope stability.

Abstract

Environmental issues related to waste from brick manufacturers are issues that need further attention. Nowadays, a lot of research has been carried out on the use of waste materials regarding their benefits in the field of construction projects, especially in concrete mixtures. With the hope that the issue of environmental problems related to the lack of handling of industrial waste can be a solution to overcome the challenges of the availability and price of conventional materials used in construction projects nowdays. In this research, a study was conducted to determine the impact of using brick ash as a filler on the Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC) pavement layer which functions as a wear layer, by using the Marshall tool test and the parameters used to measure the performance of the asphalt mixture, such as VIM, VFB and MQ values. The research method uses a laboratory testing approach at PT. Bumi Karsa and uses local materials originating from West Sulawesi Province. The use of variations in the addition of brick ash content of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5% resulted in the optimum asphalt content value of 6.15% in the planning of the AC-WC mixture and soaked for 30 minutes. From the test results it was found that the effect of adding brick ash as a filler on the stability and flow values gets a high value if the content limit at variation 3%. In other parameter values some cannot be used because the results obtained on several parameters do not meet the requirements specified in the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications for Division 6 Road works.

Abstract

The Barito watershed, as one of the largest watersheds on the island of Kalimantan, has an upstream area that is close to the equator, while the downstream area is far from the equator. This makes it interesting to see climate variability, especially rainfall that occurs in the Barito watershed. The extreme rainfall indices R20mm and R50mm are used to see the spatial variability of rainfall events, while R1X and RX5 are used to see the temporal variability of rainfall that occurs in the Barito watershed. This research shows that the frequency of rainfall events from meteorological stations, PERSIANN satellites and GPM satellites occurs most frequently in the Upper Watershed area. However, rainfall trends have not shown significant results in the last 21 years between the upstream, middle and downstream watershed areas. This is influenced by the sloping and flat conditions of the watershed, resulting in rainfall intensity tending to occur evenly throughout the watershed. The results of the IDF analysis show that there are similarities between the rainfall intensity measured at the meteorological station and the PERSIANN satellite, which gives varying intensity values ​​over a short duration of less than 50 minutes.
