After the assignment project, they were asked to respond the questionnaire related to the process of translating the poem and problems encountered. The finding revealed that most of students admitted that their biggest problem in poetry translation is associated with the linguistic difference. It refers to grammatical differences (source language and target language), lexical choices and meaning ambiguity. There were many factors behind the problems that encounter students in translating the English poem into Indonesian. Factors related to the culture, the use of figurative language, and the different structure between original poem and the target language are considered as main hindrances in translating literary works. The educational implication of the study is that our students need to be familiarized with literary works and its process of translation. However, since this study was only held in 2 months and had limited participants, the result of the study cannot be generalized. Further research, therefore, need to conduct by other researcher in order to get broader insight toward the theme

This research design applied research with one pre-test and one post-test design in the experimental and control class. From 5 classes, the researcher chose 2 classes as sample by using cluster random sampling. The data analysis result revealed that the post-test mean score (74.07) is greater than the pre-test mean score (37.24) in experimental class. The results of the t-test also confirm that the p-value is 0.001, or smaller than 0.05, whereas the t-value is 8.87 or greater than t-table 2.048. So, by considering the p and the t value, the reseacher withdraw conclusion that H₁ is accepted which states that the use of the Snakes and Ladders game can improve students’ grammar. However, another interesting finding reveals that there is also improvement of students’ scores in the control class but not as significant as in the experimental class. The mean score increased 15.86 points while in the experimental class it increased 36.83 points

The study employed a mixed methods approach, specifically utilising a quasi-experimental design and incorporating writing test and interview as a data collection method. The total sampel was 54 students in experiment and control group. The utilisation of Project-based Learning in the composition of narrative texts yielded more favourable outcomes in enhancing students' writing proficiency, as evidenced by the analysis of data. It has been demonstrated that the value of the t-statistic exceeded the critical value. The results indicated that 44% of students demonstrated improvement according to the established criteria following the intervention. Based on the findings from the interview session, it was observed that students who underwent Project-based Learning (PBL) expressed a sense of satisfaction. This can be attributed to the fact that PBL proved to be effective in assisting students in attaining their writing objectives by the conclusion of the academic term.

Abstract

Evaluation is important to measure the achievement of learning outcomes. Multiple choices, form of test, is commonly used in learning evaluation. However, in the real situation shows that multiple choice tests make students choose the answers randomly. This study was conducted to provide a solution by developing a Four Tier Diagnostic Test based on iSpring Suite 9 to identify students' conceptual understanding of Static Fluid. This research methodology employed Research & Development (R&D). The subject in this study were students of the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Islam Syekh-Yusuf who are studying Basic Physics. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, tests, validation sheets, and questionnaires. The validation results of material experts are 93%, media experts are 84% so that they are included in the very feasible category. The validity of the test showed that 35 items were valid, and 7 questions were invalid. The reliability of the test is 0.93. The index of difficulty consists of 3 easy, 35 moderate and 4 difficult. The discriminating power of each item included 16 very good questions, 9 good questions, 11 enough questions, 5 bad questions and 1 very bad item. Student response to this instrument is 74.83% included in the high category. This test can identify four levels of students' understanding of concepts, namely understanding concepts, not understanding concepts, partially understanding and misconceptions. Based on the results, the Four Tier Diagnostic Test based on iSpring Suite 9 has met the criteria for a good instrument and is suitable for use.
