Abstract

Migrant workers play a role as foreign exchange heroes, and the government continues to strive to improve services and protections for them through supportive policies. The demand for labor abroad, especially in Japan, is increasing, creating opportunities for training institutions (LPK) such as Bahana Inspirasi Muda to prepare prospective workers. However, challenges arise regarding the trust of prospective workers in recruitment agencies, which is influenced by the quality of service and promotions conducted. This research aims to explore the impact of service quality and promotion on the trust of prospective migrant workers, as well as the role of perceived value as an intervening variable. The study was conducted at LPK Bahana Inspirasi Muda with 134 respondents who are prospective migrant workers. The method used is quantitative with a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) - Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach. The results show that service quality and promotion have a positive and significant impact on trust. Additionally, perceived value also serves as a mediator that strengthens the influence of both variables on trust. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of policies and practices in the protection of migrant workers in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Indonesian Archipelagic Sea Lane (ALKI) 1 is a strategic international route that is vulnerable to maritime and air security threats. The limitations of conventional surveillance systems such as patrol vessels and manned aircraft highlight the need for more effective technologies, one of which is the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). This study aims to analyze the impact of UAV integration on the effectiveness of sea and air access control in the ALKI 1 region. The research method employed is quantitative research with 50 respondents consisting of Navy (TNI AL), Air Force (TNI AU) personnel, and related stakeholders. The independent variable is UAV integration, while the dependent variable is control effectiveness. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through validity and reliability tests as well as simple linear regression. The results show that all instruments are valid and reliable, with a total Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.889. Linear regression produced the equation Y = 7.842 + 0.684X, with R² = 0.572, indicating that 57.2% of the variation in control effectiveness is explained by UAV integration. The t-test (t-count 7.685 > t-table 2.011; p=0.000) and F-test (F-count 59.05 > F-table 4.04; p=0.000) confirm a significant partial and simultaneous influence. Thus, UAV integration enhances early detection, rapid response, operational efficiency, and inter-service coordination, making it a strategic instrument in safeguarding security and sovereignty along the ALKI 1 route.

Abstract

A good work environment is a key factor in fostering a positive work culture in the construction industry. According to a study conducted by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), approximately 45% of construction workers feel that an uncomfortable work environment contributes to their low productivity (PUPR, 2022). Unsafe work environments, such as lack of protection from extreme weather and inadequate health facilities, can lead to stress and dissatisfaction among workers. For example, a building construction project in Jakarta carried out by PT XYZ experienced delays because workers lacked adequate access to rest areas and proper sanitation. This demonstrates that investing in good facilities can improve worker comfort and productivity. Training and skills development also play a crucial role in fostering a work culture. Data from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) shows that only 30% of construction workers receive adequate training in their field (BNSP, 2023). Lack of training can lead to workers feeling insecure in carrying out their tasks, which in turn can reduce productivity. For example, a building renovation project in Surabaya experienced numerous technical errors due to workers lacking sufficient skills in using heavy equipment. Therefore, construction companies need to invest in ongoing training programs to improve workers' skills and knowledge.

Abstract

The development of domestic defense and security equipment technology (Alpalhankam) is a strategic factor in strengthening national sovereignty. External threats of military, economic, and technological nature, along with the government’s budget capacity, are two main factors influencing the success of defense technology development. This study aims to analyze the influence of external threats and budget capacity on the development of Alpalhankam technology in Indonesia. The research method used is quantitative, with a population consisting of staff and experts in the defense industry, and a sample of 50 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed through validity and reliability tests, descriptive statistics, and linear regression. The results show that external threats have a positive and significant influence on technology development (B = 0.431, p = 0.000), while budget capacity also has a positive and significant influence with a higher coefficient (B = 0.512, p = 0.000). The correlation among variables indicates a strong relationship, with an R² of 0.622, suggesting that 62.2% of the variation in technology development can be explained by the two independent variables. These findings highlight the importance of synergy between threat mitigation and budget optimization to enhance the capacity and independence of the national defense industry.

Abstract

This study assesses the relationship between port service quality and customer satisfaction at Dar es Salaam Seaport, Tanzania. It focuses on three key variables of service quality, namely process, resource, and outcomes. The study employs a cross-sectional research design and adopts a quantitative research approach to collect and analyze data. A total of 201 respondents, comprising Clearing and Forwarding Agents and Shipping Agents, were selected using stratified random sampling to ensure proportional representation of participants. Data were gathered through structured questionnaires consisting of closed-ended questions measured on a 5-point Likert scale to facilitate statistical analysis. It applied the ROPMIS model as the theoretical framework to analyze how each variable of port service quality contributes to customer satisfaction. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that all three variables, process, resources, and outcomes, had a positive and statistically significant influence on customer satisfaction. Among the three, outcomes had the strongest effect, followed by resource and process variables. Respondents identified challenges such as outdated infrastructure, slow cargo handling processes, and inadequate communication as key issues affecting satisfaction. The study concludes that improving service quality in terms of infrastructure, operational efficiency, and service consistency is essential for enhancing customer satisfaction at the port. Further research is recommended to compare customer satisfaction across Tanzanian ports, investigate the impact of digital technologies and pricing policies on service quality, and conduct qualitative studies with port staff to better understand internal operational challenges.
