Abstract

This qualitative case study aims to describe the application of self-regulation methods to improve the emotional management skills of 4-5-year-old children at Cor Jesu Marsudirini Kindergarten, Matraman. The subjects were three children in Group A who exhibited difficulty controlling their emotions. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model (reduction, presentation, verification) and source triangulation. The results showed that before the intervention, children easily cried, became angry, or withdrew when losing in games. After implementing strategies such as deep breathing, verbal reinforcement, simple reflection, teacher modeling, storytelling, and role-playing, children were able to express their feelings verbally, calmed themselves more quickly, and were no longer dependent on rewards or winning. The self-regulation method has proven effective in helping early childhood teachers stimulate children's emotional skills from an early age.

Abstract

The Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church believes that the Bible is the inspired word of God. The purpose of this study is to review the views of the SDA regarding the inspiration of the Bible from before the SDA organization was founded until now. This paper argues that there are several views among the pioneers and leaders of the SDA regarding the inspiration of the Bible. First, before the organization of the SDA, some held the view that divine inspiration extended to every word of the Bible, while others had the view that the Bible is the perfect word of God. After the SDA was organized in 1863, views regarding inspiration varied. Some held the view that there are degrees of inspiration in the Bible, while others believed that the Holy Spirit dictated the writing of the Bible to the prophets. Others, however, believed that the Bible is the only infallible rule of faith and practice. However, after 1883, within the SDA, there was only one view regarding the inspiration of the Bible: the SDA did not believe in verbal inspiration, but thought inspiration. This paper is a historical approach using the documentary research method.

Abstract

Leadership is a familiar topic of discussion. In this era of globalization, leadership has increasingly become a subject of human attention. Numerous pieces of literature on leadership can be found, and seminars, workshops, and meetings discussing leadership are held everywhere. This shows that today, people place significant emphasis on leadership. Leadership is a determining factor in the success or failure of achieving goals in any community. The church, as a community, also recognizes the importance of leadership in achieving its objectives. The accomplishment of goals is closely tied to the role of a leader. Therefore, specific qualifications are needed for a Christian leader. One essential qualification for a Christian leader is spiritual qualification. This journal discusses the spiritual qualifications of a Christian leader, drawing implications from the Book of Nehemiah. One of the key factors contributing to Nehemiah's success in leadership was his spirituality.

Abstract

Self-confidence is a fundamental aspect of early childhood personality development, influencing children’s readiness for social interaction, learning, and independent task completion. UNICEF (2022) highlights that children with higher self-confidence are more adaptive to challenges, more sociable, and better prepared for formal education. In Indonesia, strengthening character and personality has been emphasized in the Merdeka Curriculum and Early Childhood Education (PAUD) programs, including at the kindergarten level. Nevertheless, data from the Ministry of Education and Culture (2021) indicate that over 40% of children aged 4–6 still demonstrate low self-confidence, particularly in remote island regions with limited resources. This study applied Classroom Action Research (CAR) in TK B SPS Negeri Bale, aiming to enhance self-confidence through the implementation of Reward Asyik during Sabira Island play activities. The results revealed significant improvement across two cycles, where in Cycle I only 15–30% of children reached the Developing Very Well (BSB) category and the Undeveloped (BB) category remained high at 25–10%, while in Cycle II the proportion of children in the BSB category increased to 20–40% and the BB category dropped sharply to 5%. These findings suggest that well-designed and enjoyable rewards can effectively foster self-confidence, encouraging children to actively participate, take initiative, and engage more confidently in learning activities.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the improvement of early literacy skills through environmental introduction activities at Sekolah Alam Jingga, Bekasi Utara. The background of this study is based on the importance of literacy as a fundamental skill for early childhood, serving as the foundation for cognitive, language, and social development. However, preliminary observations indicated that children’s early literacy skills were still varied, literacy activities were often perceived as monotonous, and the use of the school environment as a learning resource had not been fully optimized. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The study was conducted in two cycles with first-grade students at Sekolah Alam Jingga as the research subjects. Data collection instruments included observation sheets, field notes, and documentation, focusing on indicators of early literacy development such as vocabulary mastery, pre-writing skills, and symbol recognition. The findings revealed that environmental introduction activities significantly improved students’ early literacy skills. This was evident from the increased active participation, curiosity, enthusiasm, and the ability to recognize symbols, letters, and simple words through direct experiences. Learning based on environmental exploration made the process more contextual, meaningful, and enjoyable. Therefore, it can be concluded that integrating environmental introduction activities with literacy learning is an effective strategy to enhance early literacy development in young learners.

Jakarta: Universitas Panca Sakti Bekasi. 2025. This study aims to enhance the positive character of children aged 5-6 years through Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) activities at BKB PAUD Pelangi, East Jakarta. The development of positive character in early childhood serves as an essential foundation for personality growth that will influence their future life. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (lCAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, carried out in two action cycles. Eachl cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that consistent and structured PHBS activities can foster the development of positive character traits in children, such as discipline, responsibility, independence, and environmental awareness. The habituation of PHBS not only improves children’s health but also stimulates the development of positive character from an early age. This research concludes that PHBS can serve as an effective strategy to improve positive character of young children in educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the expressive language skills of children aged 4–5 years through roleplaying activities at TKIT Insan Kamil. The research employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using Kurt Lewin’s model, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 20 children in group A. Based on the overall results, in the pre-cycle the children’s expressive language skills were at 33.00%, increasing to 43.00% in cycle I, and showing a significant improvement in cycle II, reaching 81.00%. Role-playing activities proved effective in encouraging children to expand their vocabulary, construct simple sentences, and build confidence in speaking. The improvement from the pre-cycle to cycle II indicates that the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method had a significant positive impact on the development of children’s expressive language skills. Thus, role- playing activities are proven to be effective in enhancing young children’s expressive language abilities by encouraging them to broaden their vocabulary, form simple sentences, and develop self-confidence in communication.
