Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian pakan tambahan berupa katuk depolarisasi terhadap produksi dan kualitas susu pada sapi perah Friesian Holstein (FH) satu bulan setelah beranak. Sebanyak 21 ekor induk sapi Friesian Holstein yang baru beranak digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok perlakuan, yaitu Kontrol (P0), BKD (Bubuk Katuk Depolarisasi) (P1), dan PKD (Pellet Katuk Depolarisasi) (P2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi bahan kering pakan pada perlakuan P0 adalah 15.59 ± 0.91 kg, P1 sebesar 15.14 ± 1.38 kg, dan P2 mencapai 16.27 ± 1.28 kg. Produksi susu pada perlakuan P0 adalah 25.57 ± 1.92 liter, P1 sebanyak 30.50 ± 3.09 liter, dan P2 mencapai 31.04 ± 2.68 liter. Persentase bahan kering susu pada P0 adalah 21.75±11.67%, P1 sekitar 21.7±0.99%, dan P2 mencapai 31.0±10.75%. Katuk depolarisasi, terutama dalam bentuk pellet memberikan peningkatan produksi susu secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian katuk depolarisasi sebagai pakan tambahan pada sapi perah FH dapat meningkatkan produksi susu dan kualitas susu pada bulan pertama masa laktasi. Penambahan katuk depolarisasi, terutama dalam bentuk pellet, dapat dianggap sebagai strategi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan kesehatan ternak sapi perah. Abstract

This study analyzed the income differences between organic and inorganic rice farming, the level of risk faced by farmers, and farmers' behavior in dealing with risk in Serdang Bedagai District, North Sumatra. Data were collected through interviews with farmers, field observations, and secondary sources. Analysis methods include income analysis, R/C ratio, risk analysis with certainty equivalent, and risk behavior analysis using utility functions. The results showed that the average production of organic rice was lower (1,924 kg/ha) than inorganic rice (4,668 kg/ha). However, the income risk in organic farming is more controllable than the inorganic system, with a coefficient of variation of 1 and 1, respectively. The stability of organic farming income is supported by higher organic grain prices and the use of environmentally friendly inputs. Income over total costs of organic rice is IDR 32,148,364/ha/growing season, higher than inorganic rice (IDR 27,277,691/ha/growing season), although organic production costs are also greater. Most organic farmers (45%) are classified as risk takers, while inorganic farmers are more dominant in this category (61%). The results of the R/C ratio analysis show that both systems are economically viable, with an R/C ratio value of 1.96 for organic rice and 2.03 for inorganic rice. This study confirms that organic rice farming is more stable and sustainable in the long term despite the challenge of high production costs.

Abstract

Program pemanfaatan pekarangan atau yang biasa disebut KRPL (Kawasan Rumah Pangan Lestari) atau P2L (Pekarangan Pangan Lestari) memiliki potensi untuk meningkatkan ketahanan pangan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Kota Batu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat keberlanjutan program ini dengan pendekatan multidimensional yang meliputi dimensi sosial, lingkungan, dan ekonomi. Penelitian menggunakan metode Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) melalui pendekatan Rapid Appraisal for Home Garden (RAP-HG) dengan data yang diperoleh dari penilaian responden terhadap atribut-atribut kunci di masing-masing dimensi. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan software Microsoft Excel dan menghasilkan tiga output utama, yaitu analisis ordinasi indeks keberlanjutan, analisis leverage, dan analisis Monte Carlo untuk validasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dimensi sosial memiliki indeks keberlanjutan tertinggi (63,06%), diikuti oleh dimensi lingkungan (59,94%) dan dimensi ekonomi (59,80%). Secara keseluruhan, tingkat keberlanjutan program termasuk kategori cukup berlanjut. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa meskipun program telah memberikan dampak positif pada keberlanjutan, tetapi peningkatan masih diperlukan untuk mencapai kategori tertinggi, yaitu sangat berlanjut. Strategi keberlanjutan yang diusulkan berdasarkan analisis Leverage mencakup peningkatan pemahaman cara bertani, penguatan dukungan masyarakat, pengendalian hama yang lebih berkelanjutan, dan peningkatan kuantitas panen. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi pengambil kebijakan dan pelaksana program dalam merancang intervensi yang lebih berkelanjutan untuk mendukung ketahanan pangan lokal.

Abstract

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is a strategic commodity in Indonesia’s sugar industry, but its productivity declined from 87.40 tons/ha in 2022 to 86.40 tons/ha in 2023, still below the potential yield of the Bululawang variety (94.3 tons/ha). This decrease was attributed to unsustainable cultivation practices and climate change, which led to declining soil fertility. This study aimed to examine the effects of ameliorant and potassium fertilizer combinations on the vegetative growth of sugarcane (Bululawang variety) and to determine the most effective treatment. The treatments consisted of seven combinations: P1 (no ameliorant and no K₂O), P2 (4 L/ha ameliorant + 388.8 kg K₂O/ha), P3 (4 L/ha ameliorant + 259.2 kg K₂O/ha), P4 (4 L/ha ameliorant + 129.6 kg K₂O/ha), P5 (8 L/ha ameliorant + 388.8 kg K₂O/ha), P6 (8 L/ha ameliorant + 259.2 kg K₂O/ha), and P7 (8 L/ha ameliorant + 129.6 kg K₂O/ha), each replicated four times. The results showed that the combination of ameliorant and potassium fertilizer significantly enhanced vegetative growth, as reflected in improved root length, root dry weight, number of leaves, plant height, leaf area, number of tillers, stem diameter, and total plant biomass. The combination also increased chlorophyll index, stomatal density, and brix level, indicating better nutrient uptake and physiological activity. These findings suggest that integrating ameliorant and potassium fertilizer can effectively improve vegetative growth and soil quality, offering a sustainable cultivation strategy for the Bululawang variety under similar agroecological conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the clove marketing channels and the role of social capital in supporting the marketing process in Mamampang Village, Tombolopao Sub-district, Gowa Regency. Adopting a qualitative case study design, data were collected from clove farmers, collecting traders, and large traders through in-depth interviews. The results show two main marketing channels: (1) farmers sell wet cloves to intermediary traders who then pass the product to large traders and industries, and (2) farmers sell dried cloves directly to large traders to obtain higher prices and greater market control. Social capital plays a strategic role in the selection and effectiveness of these marketing channels. Elements such as trust, reciprocal relationships, and adherence to social norms enable capital borrowing without collateral, promote knowledge exchange, and ensure compliance with informal agreements. Strong community values, particularly gotong royong and solidarity, reinforce the resilience and adaptability of clove marketing systems. The integration of social and digital networks also enhances market information access and supports sustainable marketing practices. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening social capital as a means to improve farmers' welfare, increase market efficiency, and build sustainable agricultural marketing frameworks.
