Abstract

Tax compliance in Indonesia remains a persistent challenge, particularly among business entities operating in sectors characterized by complex transactions and varying degrees of formalization, such as agricultural production facilities (saprotan). The specific context of this sector has received limited empirical attention, particularly regarding how digital tax administration and behavioral factors jointly shape compliance behavior. This study aims to examine the influence of digital tax administration systems, tax morale, and perceived tax sanctions on taxpayer compliance among saprotan businesses in Indonesia. Adopting a quantitative research design, this study utilizes census data collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to all identified saprotan businesses in several regions on the island of Java, yielding 97 valid responses from owners or directors who make tax-related decisions. The data were analyzed using statistical application SmartPLS 3 to assess the validity and reliability of the measurements and the structural relationships between the variables. The results indicate that the quality of digital tax administration, tax morale, and tax sanctions each have a positive and statistically significant influence on taxpayer compliance in the sector. By empirically testing these relationships in the context of agricultural production facilities, this study offers sector-specific evidence supporting the relevance of technology-based, psychological, and deterrent mechanisms in explaining compliance behavior, while providing focused implications for the design of digital tax reforms, taxpayer education, and consistent enforcement strategies in similar semi-formal business environments.

Abstract

Since the introduction of direct regional head elections in Jakarta in 2007, no incumbent governor has successfully secured a second term. This pattern indicates a unique electoral dynamic where candidates who are not strongly rooted in political party structures can compete effectively. This study examines the factors behind the victory of a non-party candidate in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election and discusses its implications for political party recruitment. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis involving 20 informants, including political elites, campaign team members, academics, and community leaders. The analysis applies Pierre Bourdieu's theory of capital to understand how political, social, and economic capital interact in electoral competition. The findings show that electoral success is no longer determined solely by party machinery but by the strategic combination of different forms of capital. Among these, social capital such as public trust, community networks, and shared identity play a particularly important role in mobilizing voter support. The study concludes that success in local elections depends on the dynamic interaction between political, social, and economic capital. Based on these findings, the study proposes a preliminary framework for political party recruitment that emphasizes candidate performance and the development of social capital as key elements for strengthening democratic leadership.

Abstract

This study develops a strategic framework for transitioning from a minimum wage to a living wage system in the Indonesian hospitality sector. Utilizing the MULTIPOL multicriteria analysis, the research evaluates the strategic hierarchy of policy scenarios, examines the consistency between interventions and actions, and constructs a conceptual transformation roadmap. Findings reveal that Productivity Enhancement (P3) is the most influential and resilient policy framework, followed by Variable Income Transparency (P1) as a critical stabilizing anchor. These policies demonstrate high resilience across various future scenarios, particularly under Gradual Fair Transformation (S4). Correspondence mapping further identifies a strong strategic fit between productivity-driven policies and Productivity Training (A6), while aggressive base-wage hikes are found to be highly context-sensitive. The study concludes with a strategic transformation flowchart, proposing a multi-track approach: a Primary Track (productivity-led), a Baseline Track (transparency-focused), and a Contingent Track (adaptive social dialogue). This research shifts the wage discourse toward an "Earned Adequacy" model, providing a scalable guide for local governments and industry stakeholders to balance worker welfare with business competitiveness.

Abstract

Hospitals are organizations operating in the public health sector. Nurses are the most important part of a hospital. Therefore, nurses' performance in hospitals must be good. For nurses to work well, there must be job satisfaction from the nurses. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of talent management and democratic leadership style on job satisfaction and its implementation on nurse performance in private hospitals in Karawang Regency, West Java with a sample of 205 respondents from 20 private hospitals. The researcher took samples from all of these hospitals. This study used the SEM method, by applying the steps of the SEM method. The researcher used the Lisrel 8.8 tool. In analyzing the data, the researcher used an analysis test by looking at the SLF value, GOF test, construct reliability, and extract validity. The results of this study indicate that talent management and democratic leadership have an effect on job satisfaction with a large influence of 53 and 27 percent. Meanwhile, on performance, talent management and democratic leadership style have no effect. Job satisfaction in this study has a large influence on performance with an SLF value of 1.00 and job satisfaction is a mediating variable that can mediate the variables of talent management and democratic leadership style on performance, because the influence of talent management and democratic leadership is greater when mediated by job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study addresses the lack of an operational framework that systematically integrates local wisdom, empirical evidence, and governance mechanisms in coastal community empowerment. While previous studies have examined these elements separately, limited attention has been paid to their interaction within an integrated and context-sensitive model. This study aims to analyze the factors contributing to the ineffectiveness of empowerment programs and to develop a contextual empowerment model in Seribu Regency, DKI Jakarta. A qualitative phenomenological approach was used, involving 26 purposively selected informants, supported by observation and document analysis. The findings indicate that ineffective empowerment is driven by top-down policy design, weak institutional coordination, limited infrastructure, and dependency-oriented program implementation. At the same time, local wisdom such as cooperation, deliberation, and ecological knowledge emerge as important supporting factors when integrated into the empowerment process. This study proposes an integrative and adaptive empowerment model based on three pillars: local wisdom, evidence-based policy, and participatory governance, operationalized through a cyclical learning mechanism. This study provides a contextual and operational framework that strengthens the linkages between cultural values, empirical data, and policy practices in coastal development.
