Abstract

The rapid expansion of e-commerce in Indonesia has encouraged platforms to adopt AI-based personalization to enhance customer experience and loyalty. However, privacy concerns and service quality remain critical factors influencing customer retention. This study examines the effects of AI-based personalization, perceived privacy risk, and service quality on customer loyalty in Indonesian e-commerce platforms. Novelty: This study offers a novel contribution by empirically integrating AI-based personalization, perceived privacy risk, and service quality into a single explanatory model of customer loyalty within the Indonesian e-commerce context. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using a cross-sectional survey of Indonesian e-commerce users (n = 260). Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings show that AI-based personalization and service quality positively and significantly affect customer loyalty, while perceived privacy risk has a negative effect. Service quality demonstrates the strongest influence on customer loyalty. Customer loyalty in Indonesian e-commerce platforms depends on effective AI personalization supported by high service quality and careful management of privacy risks.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of workload, work motivation, and work environment on the work productivity of Generation Z employees in the Cikarang manufacturing industry. This phenomenon is important given the unique characteristics of Generation Z, which now dominates the labor market amid demands for industrial efficiency. Using an associative quantitative approach, with purposive sampling techniques involving 240 Generation Z respondents, primary data was collected through questionnaires. Measurement accuracy was ensured using Pearson's corrected item-total correlation for validity (r ≥ 0.30) and Cronbach's alpha for reliability (α ≥ 0.60 for exploratory adaptation). Furthermore, before testing the hypothesis through multiple linear regression, all essential diagnostic assumptions, including residual normality, multicollinearity (Tolerance and VIF), and heteroscedasticity, were strictly met. The results indicate that workload and work motivation are significantly associated with employee productivity. Workload, when appropriately managed, may support productivity, while work motivation is associated with maintaining consistent performance in a target-oriented work environment. In contrast, the work environment does not show a statistically significant relationship with productivity in this study. This finding suggests that, within this specific context, the work environment may function as a supporting condition rather than a direct determinant of productivity. Simultaneously, these three variables have a significant effect with a contribution of 54.1%. This study concludes that Generation Z's work productivity is more closely related to optimal work volume and motivation than to physical environmental facilities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of profitability, liquidity, and company size on the level of sustainability report disclosure in companies included in the LQ45 Index during the 2022–2024 period, with the audit committee as a moderating variable. This study was conducted to fill the gap in previous research that was still limited to testing the existence of an audit committee alone or using the period before the strengthening of sustainability reporting regulations after 2021, and had not examined in depth the quality of the audit committee's role in moderating company characteristics. The study used a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique, and was analyzed through Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) based on secondary data obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the company's official website. The results of the analysis showed that profitability and liquidity did not have a significant effect on sustainability report disclosure, while company size had a positive and significant effect. The audit committee was shown to significantly moderate the relationship between profitability and sustainability disclosure, but with a negative coefficient direction, indicating that the oversight role can limit the tendency for over-disclosure. Conversely, the audit committee did not significantly moderate the relationship between liquidity and sustainability report disclosure. In the relationship between company size and sustainability disclosure, the audit committee also acts as a significant moderator with a negative coefficient, indicating that the audit committee's oversight role can limit the tendency of large companies to make excessive, symbolic disclosures.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and optimize notebook inventory control at PT Senyum Media Utama in order to anticipate the demand surge during the 2026 new academic year period (May–August). The current inventory policy relies heavily on experience-based decisions, which may result in overstock or stock shortages during seasonal fluctuations. Therefore, this research proposes a more systematic and quantitative approach by integrating ABC analysis, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Safety Stock, and Reorder Point (ROP). Inventory performance is evaluated based on total inventory cost efficiency and the establishment of quantitative reorder thresholds under a specified service level. Demand forecasting is conducted using monthly historical data from 2022 to 2024, with model validation through a train-test split approach. The results show that 9 Category A notebook products account for 70.02% of total annual inventory investment, highlighting their critical importance. Based on model assumptions, the EOQ method reduces projected total inventory costs from IDR 4,511,172 to IDR 3,664,004, resulting in an efficiency improvement of approximately 19%. In addition, Safety Stock and ROP calculations generate measurable reorder thresholds to support inventory availability and reduce stockout risk during peak demand, targeting a 95% service level. However, these findings are model-based and depend on assumptions such as constant holding costs, stable lead times, and the selected service level. Since the framework has not yet been implemented, further validation through real-world application or simulation is required. Future research is recommended to incorporate stochastic demand and lead time variability, as well as cross-company comparisons, to enhance the robustness and generalizability of the proposed approach.

Abstract

This study investigates whether talent management and values-based ethics are associated with employee performance in higher education, and whether work engagement explains this linkage. Ethical work values in this study are conceptualized as faith-based values rooted in organizational and cultural contexts. We used an explanatory survey design and collected responses from 200 non-academic staff working in public, private, and faith-based universities. The hypothesized relationships were tested using PLS-SEM. The findings indicate that TM is positively related to both engagement and performance. Ethical work values also show a meaningful association with engagement, and engagement functions as a partial mediator in the TM–performance relationship. Furthermore, ethical values amplify the effectiveness of talent management practices in fostering engagement. Integrating talent management with ethical work values provides a value-based human resource management approach that may strengthen employee engagement and performance in higher education institutions. From an applied perspective, the model supports institutional efforts to strengthen quality education (SDG 4) and decent work (SDG 8) by promoting ethical and sustainable HR practices in universities.

Abstract

The circular economy (CE) has moved to the center of sustainability-driven innovation, with agriculture playing a pivotal role due to its large biomass flows and potential for resource optimization. This study investigates how CE practices relate to sustainable innovation, specifically highlighting value creation for “ergo-iconic” agricultural products—goods that uniquely combine ergonomic functionality (usability, durability, and human-centered design) with culturally embedded, sustainability-oriented identity attributes (place-based branding, heritage value, and symbolic meaning). Employing a qualitative exploratory design in Banten, Indonesia, we conducted semi-structured interviews with ten key informants comprising five agro-industry practitioners, three industry analysts, and two NGO representatives. We complemented this primary data with rigorous document analysis to ensure a holistic understanding of the context. Thematic analysis and triangulation were employed to establish the credibility of the findings. The results indicate that circular business models not only reduce waste but also serve as catalysts for broader innovation processes. Three primary drivers consistently emerged: (1) stakeholder engagement, (2) cross-sector collaboration, and (3) the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies. Building on these insights, we propose the CircAgriResilient Nexus (CAR-Nexus)—a comprehensive framework that conceptualizes circularity as a dynamic nexus connecting four pillars: Circularity, Agri-Innovation, Resilience, and Nexus Governance. CAR-Nexus differs from existing sustainable circular bioeconomy models by explicitly positioning resilience as a core system capability and by integrating a provisional Resilience Index Score (RIS)—a conceptual tool that synthesizes resource efficiency, social progress, and economic robustness to guide balanced assessment of circular transitions. This framework clarifies how circular resource flows, eco-innovation, and inclusive governance jointly enhance market, environmental, and social value within the Industry 4.0 era. The study contributes theoretically by articulating an integrative CE-innovation-resilience nexus tailored specifically to agri-food systems, and practically by outlining actionable levers for firms and policymakers to accelerate circular transitions in developing economies.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of multiple intelligences on employee performance and its impact on future career advancement. Grounded in Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory and Human Capital Theory, although Multiple Intelligence Theory identifies eight types of intelligence, this research operationalizes five dimensions that are more applicable to organizational contexts, namely linguistic, logical–mathematical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and spatial–bodily kinesthetic intelligence, which, in shaping employee performance, in turn affects career progression. The study involved 320 respondents employed in eight service and manufacturing firms operating in the Greater Tangerang industrial region. These companies were purposively selected to represent different industries, and employees were recruited through voluntary survey participation. The hypotheses were tested using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) implemented through SmartPLS, allowing simultaneous assessment of measurement validity and structural relationships. The results indicate that multiple intelligences have a significant positive effect on employee performance, and employee performance significantly influences future career advancement. Furthermore, employee performance mediates the relationship between multiple intelligences and career advancement. These findings enrich human resource management theory while simultaneously providing practical guidance for talent development initiatives and structured career planning within organizations.

Abstract

This paper examines whether Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosure and profitability influence stock prices of Indonesian state-owned banks. ESG reporting has expanded rapidly, yet investor pricing of sustainability information in emerging markets may differ during post-pandemic recovery. Prior studies report mixed evidence and often test ESG or profitability separately, rely on non-bank samples, or overlook the dual-mandate setting of state-owned banks. Beyond an incremental combination of variables, this study advances theory by framing ESG disclosure in state-owned banking as a signal that can reflect both sustainability commitment and perceived policy or cost obligations, while profitability represents a competing fundamental signal; the analysis clarifies how investors weight these signals within the same institutional context. Methodologically, the integrated specification uses quarterly panel variation to estimate sustainability and fundamental effects jointly, improving comparability and reducing omitted-variable concerns relative to single-factor models. Using quarterly panel data for 2022 to 2024, the study covers five state-owned banks, yielding 60 bank-quarter observations; the unit of analysis is the bank and estimation applies random-effects panel regression. ESG is measured using an ESG disclosure score, profitability is proxied by return on assets, and stock price is measured using quarterly closing prices. Results show that ESG disclosure is negatively and significantly associated with stock prices, whereas return on assets is positive but not statistically significant. The findings suggest that stronger disclosure does not automatically translate into higher valuation, underscoring the need for clearer ESG value communication and more comparable, assured reporting.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming strategic leadership, yet existing research in Indonesia has not systematically integrated how AI-enabled leadership, ethical governance, and employee trust are jointly represented across national policy, academic, and practitioner discourse. This study addresses this gap through a qualitative document analysis of a purposively assembled corpus of 42 Indonesian documents (2019–2025), including national policies (n=5), sectoral guidelines (n=4), academic articles (n=18), practitioner reports (n=10), and legal commentaries (n=5). Documents were retrieved via Google Scholar, institutional websites (Kominfo, OJK), and consultancy repositories using keywords: "AI leadership Indonesia", "etika kecerdasan buatan", "tata kelola AI", "kepercayaan karyawan AI", and "AI governance Indonesia". Inclusion criteria required direct relevance to AI in leadership/governance/workplace contexts, Indonesian focus, and publication between 2019-2025. Analysis treated documents as social artefacts, coding at the paragraph level using an iterative codebook (initial codes: n=24; final themes: n=4). Themes were validated through cross-source triangulation (requiring support from ≥2 document types) and peer debriefing (n=2 independent reviewers). Documentary evidence indicates that AI is framed as augmenting strategic sensing and performance monitoring, while generating concerns about data protection and algorithmic bias. National ethics circulars and sectoral guidelines begin to structure AI governance but are described as principle-heavy and unevenly translated into practice. Employee trust is portrayed as contingent on transparency, fairness, human oversight, and voice. Building exclusively on this documentary synthesis (not primary organizational field data), the article proposes a novel Indonesia-specific integrated framework in which ethical AI governance mechanisms mediate the relationship between AI-enabled strategic leadership and trust-based organizational performance. The framework’s novelty lies in specifying governance mechanisms (policies, assessments, committees, transparency, training) as mediators rather than moderators, grounded in an emerging-market context with high power distance and partial regulation.
